This just happened to my grandpa's car, it sat in his garage for 5 days. It's been cold and he started it today. He moved it our of garage, he turned it off. Maybe ran for 30 seconds. 30 minutes later moved it back into the garage. Then 8 hrs later it started then immediately died then wouldn't start, I got in cranked pumped the pedal and it fired up but as you said smoked and smelled like fuel. Drove it around and let it get up to temp and haven't had any other issues

Flooded with fuel. Just let it sit turn it on. Let it sit turn it on. Then let it idle. Rev the engine a few times then put it in drive let it idle to make sure it doesnt stall.

So do you want to hold the gas pedal to the floor try to start it, and then pump the gas and try to start it?

You want to hold the gas pedal to the floor and crank it to clear it out? And as your cranking, it just pump it up slightly.
