Great tutorial! Can I pick and choose what content I want to transfer? From the screen, it does not look like we have the option. You either transfer all, or none. Is that the case?
Thank you I used your instructions to help me transfer all my data from my iPad, 5th generation to my new iPad ninth generation and all went smoothly. I have never ever done anything like this before on my own, so your information was really handy. Thanks again, sorry don’t know your name, anyway Cheers 🍺🍺🍺🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I had to do a software update on a 10th generation iPad today, 25/12/2023 from iPadOS 16.6 to 17.2. However, rather than transferring the data and doing the update at the same time, so I could check what iPadOS version was installed, I basically set it up as a new device, verified it, erased it, then transferred the data. Once the update was done and the erasing process was complete. It all worked for me successfully and now I am using it. I did however have to reset network settings as some of the apps I had on my old one were stuck at 55% downloaded. Are you then reconnected to Wi-Fi once this was done and then all of the apps installed.
I tried this today and it didn’t work. Got to the stage where we took the picture of the new Ipad sphere with the old Ipad. It said it was transferring and then sat there for over an hour then the new Ipad told us that the old Ipad had to have IOS 14 software. The old Ipad has IOS 12.5.6 software and says it is up to date.
The new iPAd needed an update and after completion the transfer was interrupted and can't get it to resume. Do I reset to factory settings? Could be another hour wasted.
will u be still logged in on your apps after transfer ur data? or will you have to re-log into apps on the newly transferred ipad? for example instagram, youtube ect
Does this work for Ipad air 2's transfer to new Ipad air 5? I've heard that Ipad air 2 it limited to IOS 15 and worry that there might be IOS version problems.
VERY GOOD TUTORIAL. My new iPad asked for software update.....amount of time.for download jumps from 5 to 4 to 2 hours remaining and then jumps back to 5 hours. Is this normal?????
This is an old video so I understand if I don’t get a response, but I did the same thing in the tutorial when setting up my new iPad but somehow, once I was able to use the new one, my old iPad transferred an earlier version of itself to my new iPad rather than its current one. For example, my new iPad has all my old photos, and not any of my new/current ones. It also has old apps that I deleted from my old iPad a long while ago, instead of my current ones, and my old wallpapers. I was watching this tutorial in hopes that maybe it could show me how to properly transfer my data afterwords, but there isn’t an explanation on how to get your old iPad transferred if you already did as seen in the video. I may have done something wrong, although I swear I did the same. I’m unsure on how to ensure that all my information saves on my old iPad, which may be the reason why it didn’t properly transfer. I can’t find any other help on this though, so I hope someone has an idea on what to do. Thank you!
I just purchased a Gen 10 iPad for my wife, and when she tried to bring all the data across from her old iPad some of it was rejected, which was due to the IOS, it said. I can't remember what gen hers is but is that meant to happen? Her latest IOS she could download was 12.5
Excellent tutorial, clear and concise. I appreciate the teaching rather 5hN self-promoting. I’ll let you know how it works when I’m finished. My iPad air OS 12.5.6.
@@TechandDesign thanks it already worked fia icloud Ipad2 dont get updates anymore thats why i switch to ipad 9 Thanks for responsing even i did it already!
What if you don't want everything transferred from the old ipad to the new iPad. Are all purchased apps locked to the Apple ID so I can download them manually on the new iPad?
@@TechandDesign Perfect, I've been asking around for the last few days before I unbox this new air 5. You're the first to give me the answer I was looking for. This is my 2nd iOS device, much obliged.
Will it also transfer all my email and photos from my old iPad to my new iPad, how do I make sure this is done? I thinking of buy a refurbished iPad 10 generation as I have a iPad 5th generation, do you think this is the right one to buy? I only want it for basic needs I’m not interested in games?
I would recommend not buying refurbished unless it’s from the Apple Store. and that’s because the other stores use cheap parts that won’t last. as for the transfer - you should watch this video
@@TechandDesign Thanks for that info on getting from an Apple Store👍👍Also would you recommend if I upgrade from a iPad 5 generation to iPad 10 generation?
How about for an older iPad that can't run on the latest update? The transfer to my iPad pro from a regular iPad worked, but the older iPad mini 2 won't transfer because it's only running IOS 12. Is there another way to transfer? I'm an Android guy so I'm new to this. I've have plenty of Macbooks and been using MacBooks for years but I'm new to iPad less then a year in and don't have an iPhone.
The iPad mini 2 is my wife iPad. The regular iPad is mine and I got a new iPad pro and gave her my iPad. Didn't realize I'd have to go to a world of dongles to play keyboard from my music apps since the iPad pro doesn't have a headphone jack 😩
This absolutely doesn’t work for all IPads unfortunately. The setting up the iCloud storage doesn’t appear at all (in settings or automatically) for iPad Air. Data transfer also isn’t supported through the camera scan also for an iPad older than ios14
actually it does show in iPad Air but you are correct about the minimum iOS that you need. Remember that there are several generations of iPad Air. There isnt just one and the latest iPad Air is in iPadOS 16
in that case you should get the 12.9" iPad so you can see the subtitles and slow down the video as much as you need or even watch the youtube video on a 50inch tv
Outstanding tutorial. Well organized and thorough. I appreciated that you went over what might be considered basic steps. Thank you.
Seems an easy way to transfer. All aspects covered and questions answered in the video. Will do this when new iPad arrives

how about app layouts on the old ipad? also tranfserrable to new pad?
My old ipad 2 wont give the pop up thing at the beginning
And in settings i have that “Get Ready For Your New ipad” also not. can you help further?

in your case just backup in iCloud
or just your computer to backup and transfer

How do you sync old iPad and new iPad, when the blue circle doesn’t show up?
transfer using iCloud
It’s a brand new iPad. I tried reset so I could get back to the hello and pick language etc but it didn’t do it.
you would have to factory reset it not just a normal reset for that. Here is how: th-cam.com/video/C5xeQgig350/w-d-xo.html
Can you do iPad to iPhone next time
it’s almost the same thing
Tech marcus is saying he is doing endurance now
This doesn't work if you didn't buy your new iPad directly from Apple, tied to your current AppleID.
what if you don't have a pass code on your old ipad?
than that’s good
doesn't work for ipad mini 2 transferring to ipad mini 6
Okay but how do I transfer new data that was put on the old iPad now onto the new iPad?
