not sure why but it never asks me to transfer data. I’ve reset the new ipad countless times and made sure the old ipad was fully backed up to icloud. I even connected them both together using usb-c to usb-c and still nothing. Not sure if they changed something or it’s because my ipad has autopilot through my company. It will sign me into my apple id and icloud and transfers over my photos and some other basic settings but none of my apps or background pictures are moved over. I’m over trying. 😢
Is it better to not do a transfer from iCloud and just start the normal new first iPad user process then once that’s complete then transfer the apps etc over to the new one? I’m reading ppl comments and because it’s my husbands Christmas gift, I don’t want to mess it up by having to keep resetting etc. Thx for the video.
Maybe these were purchased apps? If they are purchased you need to somehow tell the accounts that they are the same??? I would reach out to Apple support.
I've tried both ways beginning yesterday. Tablet to tablet... all fine until update 17.1.1 and then I get install now with the continuous circling ring right below. Nothing further happens after that with no option left but to START OVER! I tried this THREE TIMES YESTERDAY with the SAME RESULTS! I tried AGAIN today after uploading a FRESH Backup to 'the Cloud' that took three HOURS to FINISH! After that I tried the MANUAL setup FROM The CLOUD.... ALL seemed FINE and then... IT STOPPED with three messages on the screen to choose from. 1- The Software cannot be transferred until... UPDATE 17.1.1 IS INSTALLED.... except it CAN'T be installed!? (NO OPTION to do so). Options #2 and #3... are to install the program data from my wife's iPhone... BOTH dated MARCH 2023! Frustrated to THE MAX right now. HOW do I make sure the NEW iPad is RESET before trying this ... YET AGAIN? Any help would be appreciated.
**You must update the IOS on your new ipad before you can initiate QuickStart transfer 1. Setup your iPad normally & update the IOS 2. *Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Erase All Content & Settings (This will not reset the IOS)* 3. Put your old & new ipad physically close to eachother 4. Turn your old ipad on by clicking the power button & opening it - this will initiate the QuickStart copy of data.
Did you forget an important step here? I think you did… and that is to plug both iPads to their chargers so that you are guaranteed full battery charge! Hate for some Gen Zer to start this process with a 20% battery like I usually see them do… and then they run to you oh can I borrow your charger??? WHY don’t you charge all your smart devices while you are sleeping? Best habit ever??? So, please add this step when you update this video!

How do I get my I pad ready like ready to copy
Well first you should back up all your files to iCloud or another cloud or an external hard drive.
I’m stuck on software update. What next please
Im stuck on it too! ugh!
@@maryrinaldi2201im too
When I did this I lost the wallpapers on my new iPad, the ones from the old iPad seemed to override the new ones. Did I do something wrong?
The thing is when I put it on the circle it crashes
Be sure and have them both plugged in to power. so easy.

That has never happend before
Thank you!
It keeps on failing to transfer
Yea
The new ipad didn't fully download all material from old ipad. I've reset the new ipad but now they do not recognize each other.

Transferring like this from an old old iPad (iOS 9.5) is impossible it seems

This is not good. You skip FAR too many steps.

Very hard to understand his talking and he talks to fast
😊
I had to slow down his speech to 75. Use the wheel at the top of your screen then click on speed and select the one that you prefer.
