FatLizard45 find a regular mini for $100. get the 60% aluminum case for $70 on kbdfans and just swap the cases. comes out to be a $170 keyboard but the aluminum case on kdb is much nicer and also comes w a nice weight built in (the weight is optional, you can decide to not get it weighted) and it comes in multiple colors. you do pay more but it is nicer
I don't mind the plastic casing of the One 2 mini. It doesn't get moved and it's not like I'm flexing it or anything and I really love the look of the case. I will admit that a metal case would be better but you have to REALLY be pressing a key to feel any flex. I tried it and the second I felt flex I had to stop because it felt like I was going to do damage to it by pressing so hard. Also, the price difference is more than $20. Most of the Mecha minis I found were $200 and up. The Mini One 2 was only $100. They only thing I hate about Ducky boards (and some others) are the screw holes that stick out like a sore thumb. But, I just took some white dry erase tape that I have and covered them. You can't even see them. I love my Ducky Mini as well. The metal case around it is unique. I actually took it apart and sticker bombed it then put it back together. It looks pretty cool. But the RB vs the RGB lighting is a downer a bit. I also have a Max Blackbird and a Pok3r RGB. The Pok3r is nice and bulky but it has the worst key rattle. It didn't get to me once I got used to it. Once I got my Ducky One 2 I realized how bad the rattle was. Ducky it told tier construction. Even with the plastic shell. Like you said though, the metal plate kind of makes that a non-issue. I think my next board will be a build kit with hot swap switches. I've always wanted a board with MX greens on the windows keys, a blue on the Esc and browns everywhere else. I don't know why. I just think it would be cool. The greens would make it harder to accidentally hit the windows keys without turning them off. And the blue on the Esc key would be a cool for something like Overwatch where you hit your ultimate and you get a nice click to go with it. I'm strange. I know.
The Techne Yes they’re quite similar, they both have the same actuation point of 1.2 but in terms of overall speed I think silvers has it beat by a small fraction if you include all the other stuff.

The Ducky Mecha Mini just sounds weird to me. It has to be the metal casing. You can hear the "ting" when you press a key. I'll be sticking with the one 2 mini personally. Not a fan of the keycaps sitting above the board like that on the Mecha as well. The Mecha looks more premium but the one 2 mini really does feel better to use...to me anyway.
Hi Techne, thanks for this great review. After watching it, i decided to buy a Mecha Mini myself and its great. But i only have one small problem with the keyboard. I use cherry mx silent red switches and every key is good, except the spacebar. The spacebar is extremely loud and i dont know if you experienced this also with your copy?
my mecha just arrived today & wow its tiny like i had no idea its this small i love it but wow i didnt think it would be as tiny as it is, got some white keycaps so i guess thts kind of cool rather have obtained red or blue but beggers cant be choosers
The main reason I bought the ducky one 2 mini instead of the mecha is because of the switch options. The ducky one 2 mini had the ttc bluish whites which are one of my favorite switches but the mecha does not have them.
Idk Idk if I can get behind the 60% keyboard, but it seems like what EVERYONE prefers. Kinda makes it tough to look for tough about their full size keyboards. I personally own a ducky one 2 full size keyboard with cherry MX browns and then a ducky one 2 mini RGB that I picked up used for a great deal. And compared to the two I do love how much quieter the mini is (the full size makes a bit more noise when the keys bottom out) honestly the mini is a great keyboard but for desktop use I really can’t get behind it. Me personally, I need the dedicated f keys for work and I use the number pad religiously. Kind of wish the TKL worked for me but still doesn’t cut it. Sure, I like to take the mini with me when traveling with just my iPad sometimes but idk, I just wish the full size keyboard got more love lol.

Durgod Venus w/ silent reds sounds SOoOOOo much better than Mecha Mini w/ same switches. I need to find a video that shows how to take apart the Mecha, I want to add a sheet of 3mm neoprene layer inside the frame. (durgod Venus has them stock)
i have them both, and if your considering one of them, I'm telling you that the mecha is not eh way to go, it sound terrible because of the metal background, and feels like it to, also the design is really weird because the mecha is a lot higher and shows the keycaps and the plate, which not only make the rgb look worst near the edges and less bright, but overall lt looks really weird and bad, and one of the worst things about the mecha mini is the feel, because it feels very stiff compared to the one 2 and although there is more bend one the on2, i would rather it then a the a very stiff and uncomfortable. but there are some pros tho, the rgb is brighter, and the non lightweight does stop the board from sliding as much as the on the table or desk, but thats pretty much it. and no, i wont be a normal kid and tell you to get the peice of trash rk61 that are like ten dollars, man, dont get me started on that crap, anyways my piont is that you should go for the one 2, not hte mecha bye

Better build? Mecha. Mecha Mini is the same like One 2 Mini but it use the aluminum case instead ( extra durable and flex-resistant) . But it may cost you a bit more for the Mecha.
Wait so the pcb/plate is shorter in the mecha mini, thought I would be able to switch the pcb with cherry browns from the plastic model and have a pcb with cherry reds and swap them from time to time depending on my mood

This has nothing to do with this video, but if you had a SteelSeries arctis 5 2019 edition, a logitech g pro and a hyperx cloud 2. Wich one would be number one, two and three?If you don't include the pressure point of the cloud 2 and the logitech.

yeah the space bar is always a tiny bit louder, due to the stabilizers.
