I have heard and also felt these inconsistencies too. I just want to assure you that after typing and gaming on this keyboard for a few days, both the sound and feel has become even and consistent. The keyboard was freshly unboxed before filming the sound test and this leads me to believe that there is a break-in period. Even the space bar sound and feel (One of my original complaints) has improved dramatically. Again, just wanted to point this out to ensure that this didn't dissuade you from getting this keyboard. so im guessing the reason they send very random keycaps are im sure when they are getting keyboards in there are just random keycaps that fall from places and they prolly have a stockpile of just random keys in a box or something. thats just my guess.
Haha maybe. I did notice that they had a random keycap option as a bonus but then didn't. I guess they don't have a massive amount of extra keys. who knows ? lol
Hey Shaun! I'm sorry to hear that. If the product is damaged , i would 100% talk to their customer service about it. I'm sure they'll help you. The box being beat up may have been due to the shipping service but who knows? As far as the late shipping times, shipping takes a bit longer during the holidays. That's how it's been for me during this time anyway
Good review. Couldn't find anyone else who has this keyboard on TH-cam yet. I was about to get the regular one 2 mini but I came across this one and wanted to see a review on it. I'm going to go ahead and get the this one instead with some cherry browns. Thanks for the info!
@@alexreid9491 I hoping it's as good as the original or better than the ducky one 2 mini. I got mine for $128 shipped, from mechanicalkeyboards... Can't wait to get it. I heard the brown switches are a good balance for typing and gaming and a bit more quite as well.
Hey Adrian! I'm glad I could help you somewhat. I don't think you can go wrong with this keyboard and some cherry mx browns! I really do feel like they are a good balance. My preference is tactile. I ordered another Ducky One 2 Mini with cherry mx reds and I'm gonna give linear another chance though. We'll see!! Now, is the mecha mini as good or better than the ducky one 2 mini? I'm not ready to say that it's for sure better. It is definitely as good though. Even though they're both part of the Ducky one 2 line, I feel like they are distinctly different products honestly. Let me know how you like yours when it comes in!!
I'll be completely honest, if you want quiet, you should go with the original one 2 mini with silent red. I am currently testing both mecha mini and one 2 mini with silent reds and while mostly its the same sound signature, my god, the spacebar is SOOOO much louder. I made some sound test videos because i wanted to have some people take a look at it and give me their impressions. No bluetooth though. I still think it's worth the money, but for you it depends on your needs. what are you looking for?
I have 100$ to spare it’s either and new mouse because I have a G 402 I want to upgrade to a model o- and maybe a new mouse pad or Mecha does a more expensive keyboard have a different response time or any other pluses of this keyboard

Haha you have no idea how many people have commented that! All i have to say is that the ducky one 2 mini is a great keyboard! I wouldn't dare say that the mecha is better. I honestly feel like both have a completely different sound and feel to them. Neither is better than the other.
Next time you look for a 60% keyboard, check out the Durgod Venus. Aluminum construction sound dampening foam between the case and PCB, factory lubed stabilizers (buttery smooth), tap arrow key functionality (on the right shift, ctrl, fn1, and fn2), double shot pbt cherry profile caps, and software that you use to build your own firmware. The only areas where it falls short is the lighting is average compared to ducky's white plate that reflects light real nicely, and no height adjustment which is bad for ergonomics anyway, but better for options I guess. It's also regularly available on Amazon in more switch options minus silent reds. If you like cherry reds, I highly recommend trying the kailh box reds. They feel much smoother.
Almost got the same keycaps? I wonder if anyone with the first batch of mecha mini's got anything other than extra red keycaps. The year of the pig spacebar is definitely a nice touch. Just wish it was PBT! that may be asking a bit much for the great price though.
I was really close to buying a Miya Pro rainbow model. I really miss not having to use FN with my arrow, home, and end keys. Hope you're liking your Miya keyboard!
@@anonymous05067 It is PBT but the year of the pig spacebar is ABS. if you look closely, the black is a different shade. It could be thinner. Some manufacturers make their pbt keycaps with thicker walls. Corsair is a great brand for sure.

loodx the delay is barely there nowadays depending on what you’re playing, and if you’re already playing capped fps then its worth the millisecond delay anyway
@Sanity but it’s not 1 ms tho is way higher cus he’s on Xbox and that gives it mouse acceleration, capped frames and a noticeable delay. If he were on pc, he would notice the significant reduction in delay and having no mouse acceleration and higher fps. That’s what I mean lol
Thank you! I must say the silver switches are gonna be a massive leap from brown though. I ran silvers in a Corsair K70 for a few weeks and couldn't get used to it and had so many typos. I had to return it. Lol I hope it works out for you though!

Honestly after having a Ducky One2 Mini for around a month, I can safely say im glad its gone, it was good quality but the lack of arrow keys really messed with me
Lil Rice Muncher Gaming yo really. That’s so cool. I have a duckey 1 2 full sized with Mx browns right now and it when I played my hand would hit the extra buttons so that’s why I got the 60% board.
@@OwenWise Yes, really! i'm in the same boat as you. I had a full-size Corsair K95 platinum and i kept ramming my mouse into the keyboard when playing games. the 60% keyboard is a major improvement. Even the 65% one 2 SF helps a lot too.
I bought this and put some lubed tealios v2 67 gram switches in it. Put lubed clipped and bandaid modded gmk cherry stabs in and changed the aluminium plate to brass. Put some 60% platefoam in. Put pbt double shot neon pink rubber keycaps on. And for 225 bucks altogether its the best board ive ever Used

aside from the usual everyone is different and has their own preferences... YES, i absolutely do recommend it. I'm not going to lie to you just bc this is a mecha mini video. i LOVE my g pro keyboard. i don't want to make a judgement call yet between these two keyboards but i'm leaning towards the g pro at the moment. The romer g tactile switches are for sure different but not in a bad way - at least to me. the actuation point is higher than cherry mx, but it feels great. the keyboard is plastic but no flex. it's very sturdy. i don't want to take from all metal builds, but that is a sturdy a$$ plastic keyboard. typing feel and sound is great! let me know if you have any specific questions.
I have the G pro which comes with romer g tactile switches. I think the tactile switches on the G pro x are a little different. I'm sure they're still great though. I just love my G Pro and have no problems with it at all.
I don't think there's such thing as a good switch because everyone has their own unique preference. However, I think cherry mx brown would be a good start and most would agree that it's a balanced switch for gaming and typing. I would see cherry mx red if you like linear-type of switches.

@@swift3001 what i would do if i were you is run to a local best buy or something and decide if you like tactile or linear better. after that, i think you should go cherry mx brown or red as your first gaming keyboard. either one is a great start. no regrets. as far as the keyboard, you will definitely like the one 2 mini pure white edition. great typing feel, sound, and the rgb is ridiculously amazing on it! let me know what you decide and let me know if you have any questions!

Ok so mechanicalkeyboards.com offers free shipping (in the U.S.) on most of the Tai Hao keycaps. The free shipping says 4-7 business days. There is also 3-shipping for $3.99 and 2-day shipping for $7.99. Mk's website also mentions that in stock orders placed by noon CDT will ship the same business day. They're really good about processing and shipping orders fast! The holidays are coming up though so I would order soon if you want something asap!
You should be able to! I'm assuming you're referring to maybe the pudding keycaps?? The keycaps are for ANSI-US / QWERTY layouts and the mecha mini is the same so i'm expecting it to work. I actually have Hyperx White Pudding keycaps on hand that i'm going to apply to the ducky one 2 mini keyboard that's coming in tomorrow. Stay tuned for that video!
Ahh.. The question that we cannot avoid.. Honestly, it's a matter of preference. I think the typing feel and sound are pretty different. Right now, i'm perfectly happy with the mecha mini. I really don't think you can go either way. I have a one 2 mini on the way and i'm going to do a side by side comparison and give my final take on it.

Ordered red silent and the keyboard died after one day of use 🙂 doesn't work at all and doesn't light up and it disconnects other usb devices when plugged in. Now the shop I bought it from is sold out. How good is life!

I think it looks nice but it's definitely not for everyone's taste. I think it looks amazing but I would like to see this side by side with a one 2 mini and the kbd anode case.
Ha! I'm actually getting the One 2 Mecha Mini to replace my G Pro keyboard... For some reason one of my lesser used keys (B) keycap broke and... well... where I live you simply can't get replacement caps, at all. Don't feel like waiting for Logitech USA or China to send me some new keycaps because I tend to type a lot and... well... not buying any keyboards with proprietary caps again. Ever. Other than that I also really, really liked the G Pro once it was somewhat worn-in ;p PS: You can easily setup your alt, fn, windows and / key to be permanent arrow keys if you want those. It's fairly simple.
haha what a coincidence. I've adapted to using FN for the most part. I think i'm good. I'm going to consider a 65% keyboard though. I've had the same concerns as you about proprietary caps. I didn't see any convenient options for replacement keycaps for the g pro. That's what sucks about it. I'm wondering if they'll discontinue it now since the g pro x is out even though those switches are different too. Hmm..
@@lilricemuncher09 Getting used to using FN as we speak since I just received the Mecha Mini ;p Lovely little device, but the cherry reds take some getting used to after the Romer-Gs of course haha. Love the form factor, but I also agree that 65% is probably the best of both worlds. I think Logi will discontinue the OG G Pro keyboard to be honest. The newer ones do have their own switches but I do think they use the 'cherry-style' + stems don't they?
@@KindOldRaven I flipped the dip switch to make caps lock an additional FN key. I had to sacrifice the use of caps lock of course but it helps tremendously. I still like tactile and can't bring myself to do linear yet. Maybe later down the line. I may buy the new g pro if it comes down in price. Pretty sure it takes cherry stems. The actuation and travel distance I think vary a bit from the new Logitech tactile switch in the g pro x compared to the g pro so that will be different but I'm sure I could adjust. Would like to do the huntsman TE by Razer once they make a quieter switch option 😅

Hey, i've found some reports from other users that it does work but has some issues like randomly shutting off and becoming unresponsive. Seems like it just requires a firmware update. I don't know for sure where ducky is with this at the moment.

No such thing as a best switch. 100% user preference. I think cherry mx brown is a good balance and starting point for most people though. A lot of the best in e-sports would go for the cherry mx silvers but i wouldn't start there if i was new though. :)
Ducky did present a white mecha mini at Computex 2019 but they have not made any announcements on it whatsoever. My thought is that they're going to eventually release a white one. it'll just probably be a few months. I would also like to see a white one 2 SF too.

@Jax 2TheMax because for some reason the ducky 1 2 mini or mecha mini is known for fortnite players. fortnite is a really hated game and when you have a 60% keyboard everyone would say “idc abt ur fortnite keyboard” it’s a keyboard idk why ppp hate on it. (i don’t play fortnite btw)

You can easily swap keycaps, it's much more difficult to swap a frame

Haha you have no idea how many people have commented that! All i have to say is that the ducky one 2 mini is a great keyboard! I wouldn't dare say that the mecha is better. I honestly feel like both have a completely different sound and feel to them. Neither is better than the other.
I have a one 2 mini and it's amazing. Don't feel bad! Just make sure you pick up some custom keycaps and stuff to personalize it :)

Next time you look for a 60% keyboard, check out the Durgod Venus. Aluminum construction sound dampening foam between the case and PCB, factory lubed stabilizers (buttery smooth), tap arrow key functionality (on the right shift, ctrl, fn1, and fn2), double shot pbt cherry profile caps, and software that you use to build your own firmware. The only areas where it falls short is the lighting is average compared to ducky's white plate that reflects light real nicely, and no height adjustment which is bad for ergonomics anyway, but better for options I guess. It's also regularly available on Amazon in more switch options minus silent reds. If you like cherry reds, I highly recommend trying the kailh box reds. They feel much smoother.

@@anonymous05067 It is PBT but the year of the pig spacebar is ABS. if you look closely, the black is a different shade. It could be thinner. Some manufacturers make their pbt keycaps with thicker walls. Corsair is a great brand for sure.

@Sanity but it’s not 1 ms tho is way higher cus he’s on Xbox and that gives it mouse acceleration, capped frames and a noticeable delay. If he were on pc, he would notice the significant reduction in delay and having no mouse acceleration and higher fps. That’s what I mean lol

@@OwenWise Yes, really! i'm in the same boat as you. I had a full-size Corsair K95 platinum and i kept ramming my mouse into the keyboard when playing games. the 60% keyboard is a major improvement. Even the 65% one 2 SF helps a lot too.

I bought this and put some lubed tealios v2 67 gram switches in it. Put lubed clipped and bandaid modded gmk cherry stabs in and changed the aluminium plate to brass. Put some 60% platefoam in. Put pbt double shot neon pink rubber keycaps on. And for 225 bucks altogether its the best board ive ever Used

aside from the usual everyone is different and has their own preferences... YES, i absolutely do recommend it. I'm not going to lie to you just bc this is a mecha mini video. i LOVE my g pro keyboard. i don't want to make a judgement call yet between these two keyboards but i'm leaning towards the g pro at the moment. The romer g tactile switches are for sure different but not in a bad way - at least to me. the actuation point is higher than cherry mx, but it feels great. the keyboard is plastic but no flex. it's very sturdy. i don't want to take from all metal builds, but that is a sturdy a$$ plastic keyboard. typing feel and sound is great! let me know if you have any specific questions.

I have the G pro which comes with romer g tactile switches. I think the tactile switches on the G pro x are a little different. I'm sure they're still great though. I just love my G Pro and have no problems with it at all.

I don't think there's such thing as a good switch because everyone has their own unique preference. However, I think cherry mx brown would be a good start and most would agree that it's a balanced switch for gaming and typing. I would see cherry mx red if you like linear-type of switches.

@@swift3001 what i would do if i were you is run to a local best buy or something and decide if you like tactile or linear better. after that, i think you should go cherry mx brown or red as your first gaming keyboard. either one is a great start. no regrets. as far as the keyboard, you will definitely like the one 2 mini pure white edition. great typing feel, sound, and the rgb is ridiculously amazing on it! let me know what you decide and let me know if you have any questions!

Ok so mechanicalkeyboards.com offers free shipping (in the U.S.) on most of the Tai Hao keycaps. The free shipping says 4-7 business days. There is also 3-shipping for $3.99 and 2-day shipping for $7.99. Mk's website also mentions that in stock orders placed by noon CDT will ship the same business day. You should be able to! I'm assuming you're referring to maybe the pudding keycaps?? The keycaps are for ANSI-US / QWERTY layouts and the mecha mini is the same so i'm expecting it to work. I actually have Hyperx White Pudding keycaps on hand that i'm going to apply to the ducky one 2 mini keyboard that's coming in tomorrow. Stay tuned for that video!

Ahh.. The question that we cannot avoid.. Honestly, it's a matter of preference. I think the typing feel and sound are pretty different. Right now, i'm perfectly happy with the mecha mini. I really don't think you can go either way. I have a one 2 mini on the way and i'm going to do a side by side comparison and give my final take on it.

Ordered red silent and the keyboard died after one day of use 🙂 doesn't work at all and doesn't light up and it disconnects other usb devices when plugged in. Now the shop I bought it from is sold out. How good is life!

looks like the kbd fans anode case is way better, this is a fail on ducky's part with that low profile case, too much key exposure....
I think it looks nice but it's definitely not for everyone's taste. I think it looks amazing but I would like to see this side by side with a one 2 mini and the kbd anode case.

Ha! I'm actually getting the One 2 Mecha Mini to replace my G Pro keyboard... For some reason one of my lesser used keys (B) keycap broke and... well... where I live you simply can't get replacement caps, at all. Don't feel like waiting for Logitech USA or China to send me some new keycaps because I tend to type a lot and... well... not buying any keyboards with proprietary caps again. Ever. Other than that I also really, really liked the G Pro once it was somewhat worn-in ;p PS: You can easily setup your alt, fn, windows and / key to be permanent arrow keys if you want those. It's fairly simple.
haha what a coincidence. I've adapted to using FN for the most part. I think i'm good. I'm going to consider a 65% keyboard though. I've had the same concerns as you about proprietary caps. I didn't see any convenient options for replacement keycaps for the g pro. That's what sucks about it. I'm wondering if they'll discontinue it now since the g pro x is out even though those switches are different too. Hmm..
@@lilricemuncher09 Getting used to using FN as we speak since I just received the Mecha Mini ;p Lovely little device, but the cherry reds take some getting used to after the Romer-Gs of course haha. Love the form factor, but I also agree that 65% is probably the best of both worlds. I think Logi will discontinue the OG G Pro keyboard to be honest. The newer ones do have their own switches but I do think they use the 'cherry-style' + stems don't they?
@@KindOldRaven I flipped the dip switch to make caps lock an additional FN key. I had to sacrifice the use of caps lock of course but it helps tremendously. I still like tactile and can't bring myself to do linear yet. Maybe later down the line. I may buy the new g pro if it comes down in price. Pretty sure it takes cherry stems. The actuation and travel distance I think vary a bit from the new Logitech tactile switch in the g pro x compared to the g pro so that will be different but I'm sure I could adjust. Would like to do the huntsman TE by Razer once they make a quieter switch option 😅

Hey, i've found some reports from other users that it does work but has some issues like randomly shutting off and becoming unresponsive. Seems like it just requires a firmware update. I don't know for sure where ducky is with this at the moment.

No such thing as a best switch. 100% user preference. I think cherry mx brown is a good balance and starting point for most people though. A lot of the best in e-sports would go for the cherry mx silvers but i wouldn't start there if i was new though. :)

Ducky did present a white mecha mini at Computex 2019 but they have not made any announcements on it whatsoever. My thought is that they're going to eventually release a white one. it'll just probably be a few months. I would also like to see a white one 2 SF too.
The best switch I have found is the creams. Extremely expensive though.
