Memoirs of a Geisha❤️ She played the character of Mameha to perfection. You can tell she's very dedicated to her craft in whatever she does. I cannot wait to see Gunpowder Milkshake. "Yo! Michelle. You ROCK!"
I love seeing this interview where Michelle Yeoh says she hopes that she'll be known for a role that she hasn't done yet, because now that future has happened for her. Her performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once was phenomenal. She's funny, she's sad, she's deep, and she's the main lead where she deserves to be. She made it! And I like to think that her past self would have been very pleased to hear this.
Right!! And they would have finished filming probs by the time this video was made so i imagine she was referring to Everything Everywhere All at Once but it hadn’t been released yet, so happy she has got all the recognition and acclaim she deserves for playing Evelyn , an absolute legend😍😍☺️☺️
I am Indonesian, and I have been looking up to her since 2004, she is freaking awesome. Graceful, talented, humble, charismatic, beautiful, and inspiring. Michelle Yeoh is a legend.
@@tommychen8946 she has had GREAT leading roles over the years..and yes, couldn't hurt for her to have more of them, *if* an offered project was interesting enough to her..and representation *is* everything - believe me or not - but I *do* know that. but what's *also* true is that being part of an ensemble cast is also quite appealing to many actors/actresses. one of the many reasons being a most practical one: film work can be loved AND also, simultaneously, very exhausting when one is in every scene or nearly ever scene. and there are hardly any real breaks, in spite of 'the rules.' although someone as smart as Ms. Yeoh would have a good entertainment attorney & and air tight contract. esp., considering how much she's in high demand, which she has surely earned that status. but in any case, her catalogue of films is very extensive. and she's been working for decades now - and it definitely seems that you should check out & watch much more of her amazing👍work, Tommy.👸🏾
Just take a moment to appreciate just how amazing Michelle Yeoh's career has been. She's bridged over modelling, stunt work, action movies, straight drama, comedy, successful in both Western and Eastern productions, as well as having her own production studio, and all this in a predominantly male driven industry. She's a F##king legend.
I absolutely love Michelle. She's magnificent. My friend did her makeup in Los Angeles for an event a few years back and she said Yeoh was thee most sweetest and down to earth celebrity she's ever done.
I agree. Had the privilege of meeting her for work and she was one of the classiest ladies I've ever met. I'd been expecting this Amazonian kickass dame and she turned out to be surprisingly petite (compared to me anyway) and just glowing. And super gracious. Even thanked me for my work even though our time together was short. Much respect
I'm a 007 fan. Watched every movie there is. Then here comes Michelle Yeoh, completely unfamiliar to me back when I was young. She took my breath away with scenes that she was in. Mysterious, fast, competent, cat-like reflexes. I followed her available movies in my country. To this day, I feel zoomed into her presence and just feel her performance through the screen. Captivating! Even an interview video makes me feel the same!
I was big into Shaw Bros. Kung Fu movies back in the early to mid 90's, as well as seeing Jackie Chan in what I remember was the first western released movie (Rumble in the Bronx) and thinking it was so cool to finally have a stateside release with Chan. *THEN* came Supercop! I remember seeing Chan in the first 30 or so seconds of the trailer and thinking it looks pretty good. Much more refined than Rumble. Then Michelle split kicked those two guys outside the restaurant and finished it with the form. I saw her and thought, "*DAMN!* She's really kicking some ass!" and you see that she's doing everything and more than what all the guys were doing, and with so much precision! I think that will probably be my favorite action movie of hers because it was still HK movie gritty, but she brought it up to the next level and you can really see it in the production. #RespectTheSteez
I've been waiting for this! She is a legend and it's so thrilling to see her talk about her career. One of the greats, she deserves more award recognition for her work.
She is the complete artist. When Jamie Lee Curtis said she jumped on board with the Daniels' film because Michelle was in it... you know she wasn't kidding. She hasn't had the top billing she deserves but she has so much respect from fellow actors, and she has that rare quality... no matter what the role, she's ALWAYS convincing. If she reads this, I want her to know that the effort she puts in is noticed, and she enhances every movie she's in beyond measure. I don't think she realises how much genuine love there is out there for her, it's nothing to do with sex appeal, or how great she looks in a leather jump suit, or riding a motorbike... it's the hard work, the fact she's so warm, and 100% genuine. She's no fake, she's a real star. The world thanks her friend for getting her that 1st role in an advert with Jackie Chan in Hong Kong.
Michelle Yeoh from Pulau Langkawi to Captain on the USS Entreprise bringing peace to the Galaxies >>> Making Malaysia & Malaysians so very proud indeed! Stay Safe , Grateful & Stay Healthy! 🌷🌿🌎💖🇲🇾
I vividly remember seeing Memoirs of a Geisha in theaters. I actually did not want to see it at all but a friend made me go and I was just in awe. I could watch the movie without sound bcuz the scenery and cinematography is so great. Without the sound you realize how much emotion the colors, patterns and textures have. The colors on a geisha from face makeup to all the colored robes, the small gestures and glances....just amazing. Since seeing the movie I've read the book and purchased the soundtrack. If anyone hasnt scene it I encourage you too. Even if the story doesn't interest you, let your eyes enjoy the view 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Michelle Yeoh was former Miss Malaysia. She won the pageant in 1983 at the age of 20. Recently she raised funds & also lend her hand to help flood victims in Malaysia.
My first memory of Michelle Yeoh was watching a movie called Wonder Seven where she starred alongside a former Olympic gymnast from China. She was stunning in the movie and she kicked asses. There were some great gun fu scenes! And then there was also the song played at the end of the movie… arguably the best Chinese song - definitely the most well-known song - ever recorded called “blessing” (“祝福” by jacky cheung)… it was a great fitting for the movie
Finally!!! She deserved to be featured looooooong time ago She's great! I think I love her Lol She's great!! Many movies but two stand out for me Wing Chung Reign of Assassins She's great!!
She keep exceed and Improve everytime she act, she's amazing, which is probably why she's one of the rarest Asian and female actors, cause she's in so many franchise and different roles, tv and movies, and even when she's aged she still keep landing roles
And some people say there are no powerful independent women in film, yeah right.. Michelle Yeoh, is a shining example of beauty, strength and intelligence. Her career thus far has been amazing. Can't wait to see what she does next.
Love her! And CTHD was amazinggggg…being a long time fantasy, anime, manga, Chinese webnovel addict that movie blew my mind, the fight scenes uhhhh. CTHD her gravitas, her portrayal of emotions and facial expressions were stupendous!
Loved Malaysia as a country. Fantastic food and we are lucky enough to have restaurant run by ex-pats close by. Watched Hidden Dragon literally by my self in the theatre. It was in a small family run multiplex that was on the verge of closing. No word of a lye. Huge theatre and screen and me.
I picked you up at Donmuang Airport when you arrived Thailand for 007 i still have photo with you and Mr.Brosnan .I love your action movies always fantastic.
I ADORE Michelle Yeoh, she is so talented and still so beautiful. And now Malaysia can boast of a STAR TREK CAPTAIN, which me in the neighbouring country can't.
Thanks for this interview :) Since I grew up with Jackie Chan's movies and every martial arts ones I had chance to watch, she's part of me as well and it's always nice to find her in more movies
omgeeee I am so happy they had her comment on her looks in "Memoir of a Geisha'! I know the film and the book it was based off of was not met with ALL positive reviews but she played the H-E-L-L out of her role😍 She truly infatuated me along with the actress Gong Li who played Hatsumomo in the movie along with other amazing movies I watched her in as well😍
My Aunt went to the same school as her and was friends with her sister they went to school in Ipoh and she was just her friend’s sister at the time she now tells that story to everyone..
Michelle captivated me with Wing Chun. I cannot even express how that film sparked my interest in all kung fu cinema. It wasn't Bruce Lee, it was Michelle Yeoh! I love this actor so much. She has never once disappointed me.
So much respect for this woman! And I love that she's diving into sci-fi roles with Star Trek. I will always be sad that I wasn't introduced to her sooner in my life.
Which Michelle Yeoh film is your favorite?
Memoirs of a Geisha
Love so much. From Viet Nam
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny
Memoirs of a Geisha❤️ She played the character of Mameha to perfection. You can tell she's very dedicated to her craft in whatever she does. I cannot wait to see Gunpowder Milkshake. "Yo! Michelle. You ROCK!"
always Tomorrow Never Dies and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

Right!! And they would have finished filming probs by the time this video was made so i imagine she was referring to Everything Everywhere All at Once but it hadn’t been released yet, so happy she has got all the recognition and acclaim she deserves for playing Evelyn , an absolute legend😍😍☺️☺️
As a Malaysian, I'm just so super proud of her.
Have you ever think why she could be so outstanding ?
I am Indonesian, and I have been looking up to her since 2004, she is freaking awesome. Graceful, talented, humble, charismatic, beautiful, and inspiring. Michelle Yeoh is a legend.
She's an international treasure. Loved her as a kid in Tomorrow Never Dies and thought she was great in ST: Discovery
Malaysia Boleh
She's an icon, she's a legend, and she is the moment!
Now come on now
Cool comment!
She's not just the moment, she is the past and the future. She is everything, everywhere, all at once.
and most importantly, she supported BN
@@zurzakne-etra7069 why not? It is a democratic right.
She and Gemma Chan just exude class and elegance. I've been her fan since her action star days in Hong Kong.
💯
Absolutely!
Michelle Yeoh should be in more things. I can't wait to see her (and Tony Leung Chiu-wai!) in Shang-chi.
She doesn't need the money.
Shang chi was depressing she didn’t even get any fight scene with Tony Leung! Wth
She needs to be the "main" lead in more things. She is appearing more now but supporting parts. She deserves better.
she has been VERY busy over the years, *LoL!!* 😄 so it 'sounds' like YOU need to catch up on her filmography.😯

Don't forget successful and humble.
She is one of the most elegant Asian actresses . So humble .
Love her! She empowered a whole generation of women, including me. Seeing her in crouching tiger, made me feel like I could do anything.
