@NagaKitchen the vegetable seller must have cheated me. I found the umbrella part of the mushroom consumable. The stock was tougher than rubber. I spent 3 hours to cook it plus gas. I don't think I will buy local mushrooms again. Half kg for 100 rupees. :(

Storing mushrooms too long can make them tough as they lose moisture. Fresh mushrooms are softer and cook up tender, so it’s best to buy them fresh.
