Well I think if you want diesel, get the Nexon xz+ auto since it's cheaper , if you want to be future proof and everything, hyryder hybrid is the best .
Wtf? Running cost isn't a factor for these geniuses apparently. The Seltos will cost 15-18k in fuel per month for 2500kms. The EV will be less than 2.5k.
What actually matters in this segment is ride quality, ease of driving, good fuel efficiency, reliability, dependability, hassle-free ownership, and service and most people are happy if the car is effortless in 100 KPH+ highway cruise. Maruti and Toyota have hit that spot perfectly. Instead of sportiness, they have gone for a more well-rounded package with things that actually make sense. So you can go for either of them, both are the same except for their looks. Please go for whatever you think is better looking out of the two.
You forgot that the ZS is the only car here that is 5 star safety rated. Funny the reviewers didn't mention this. Also as per 14:26 , it can be seen that the EV is ₹2/km cheaper than the Hybrid and ₹3/km cheaper than the Diesel. That's ₹5000 / ₹7500 saved every month for the person asking the question. Or ₹3/4.5 lakh saved in running costs over 5 yrs when charging with wherever the hell these guys were charging the car for ₹24.8/KWh. MSEB charges much lower amount than that when charging at home.
In the real world 95% of usage is “La parking spot”! So basically most of us want features + power + safety. It’s never going to get its value out for the average Joe who even drives everyday (probably under 40kms)
For EV, why not the highest selling Ev in India, Nexon? Has the ventilated seats for comparison 😊 But seriously it would have been more relevant for more audience of such a show
No boot space in hyryder tho, even my one segment lower Nexon EV has more boot space. Imagine brezza segment hybrid, no boot will be left just like cng No boot space is anti-thesis of going for hybrid just for highway usage
what about maintenance, safety, power and overall life of the vehicle. EV batteries have much more life than other cars, and zs ev is the safest of the three cars.
Why do you say low end torque is not good in a diesel. That’s such an inaccurate thing to say. Low end grunt is the defining feature of all diesel cars. I’ve driven diesel cars all my life and have never crossed 2000 rpm and overtook whomever I wanted to with ease. Don’t mislead people.
I own a seltos facelift AT diesel, never trust the Range.. It drops soon after completion of half tank..I wouldn't say the mileage is bad, it's good in highway(depends on how we throttle) City 11 klpl. I had a ecosport, it would run always above it's range..
@@rock0285 May be my car engine has to set, it is just 4000 km run now..And I don't know if BS6 stage 2 has the same mileage as stage 1. Happy with highways mileage like you mentioned, but in bangalore traffic I get only 11 klpl for now.
And here I thought if you’re driving 2500+ kms every month, economic aspect of the car would be the biggest factor and on a side note a Nexon EV long range version would trump all 3 over here, in terms of Safety, Economy, Comfort, Mileage, Features and built by a legacy company and proven over so many years now. And of course you don’t include that because who wants to make this video practical, let’s advertise Seltos instead and hide all of its long term ownership issues.
Autocar content is always been solid but as a viewer big no no to MG even if they run$1000 kms or $10000 km without eating u gas or electricity needless to say why:)
Well.. when you are stuck in a slow moving long line of vehicles on the ghats, which is what happens every holiday, you wouldn't want to be in a petrol or diesel vehicle, burning up clutch plates and struggling with the lack of torque, what you want is an EV to zoom past vehicles before they realize what happened, and not to mention, not blowing up the clutch plates. In the above trip, the cost for EV was 2.2, that's owing to the higher cost at CPO, with JIO BP and Statiq, that can fall below 2 rs easily, and there is a difference in spending 5k or less a month and upwards of 10k. Keep in mind, the roads aren't always empty.
Small world, we meet again. Not only that, they didn’t even count service cost diff for EV And like ever, auto journos never mention PlugShare and still live in the age old mindset of “no infrastructure so no EV”
Apart from just calculating the running cost, also we should pay attention to the maintenance cost as well. Diesel and Hybrids will obvious have a hit on your wallet. Diesel requires DEF to be filled on designated intervals. However, maintenance cost for EVs are much lower, which ends up in saving lot of money. If the journey can be planned properly, EVs are best to be considered now. Range anxiety will always be there, but nowadays charging infrastructure is increasing which is promoting more customers to buy an ev. A good review. Thanks for your efforts for bringing this up. 👍🏻

Heard a lot about the build quality of ZS EV and it's much better than Hyryder and Kia.
Why do you say low end torque is not good in a diesel. That’s such an inaccurate thing to say. Low end grunt is the defining feature of all diesel cars. I’ve driven diesel cars all my life and have never crossed 2000 rpm and overtook whomever I wanted to with ease. Don’t mislead people.
why not consider CNG option
I own a seltos facelift AT diesel, never trust the Range.. It drops soon after completion of half tank..I wouldn't say the mileage is bad, it's good in highway(depends on how we throttle) City 11 klpl.
I had a ecosport, it would run always above it's range..
I also own seltos diesel automatic... city mileage is around 14-15 and highway easily 18-20 and on expressway 24 around.... its 4 years old now
@@rock0285 May be my car engine has to set, it is just 4000 km run now..And I don't know if BS6 stage 2 has the same mileage as stage 1. Happy with highways mileage like you mentioned, but in bangalore traffic I get only 11 klpl for now.
ev❤
Seltos is such a perfect car, ticks all the boxes of expectations.
Honda City eHeV! Where’s that for this review? Better seats, ADAS, Honda’s reliability! Omitted intentionally?
Did you not read the question @ 0:15 ?
Why buy tension along with EV. Get a Diesel or Hybrid.
Liked the concept
Hybrids are practical and efficient
For 25k per month, the engine reliability factor should have been taken into consideration and there Toyota's pedigree trumps the other two.
I wish autocar replied to every comment with a videos 😅
Diesel MT 🔥
The EV is a no brainer, just check the 'Range and Pricing' sections.
Not only that, they didn’t even count service cost diff for EV
And like ever, auto journos never mention PlugShare and still live in the age old mindset of “no infrastructure so no EV”
Best video❤
Apart from just calculating the running cost, also we should pay attention to the maintenance cost as well. Diesel and Hybrids will obvious have a hit on your wallet. Diesel requires DEF to be filled on designated intervals. However, maintenance cost for EVs are much lower, which ends up in saving lot of money. If the journey can be planned properly, EVs are best to be considered now. Range anxiety will always be there, but nowadays charging infrastructure is increasing which is promoting more customers to buy an ev.
A good review. Thanks for your efforts for bringing this up. 👍🏻
Why don’t you use byd atto 3 ev next time and see the difference
Hybrid or electric will be the most expensive car when the time comes for battery replacement.
when i saw the mg zs ev i tought where did swift come out from
