I remember when Boba Skip was discovered. Everyone in the speedrunning community went nuts trying to replicate it and the resulting setup helped create a new milestone in Any%. Thanks, Kevin (What Boba called the skip)
can confirm, was there.
What's especially amazing is that it went from being discovered completely by accident (which is insanely unlikely in the first place) to being repeatable with a foolproof method that always works, in the space of about 4 hours. I've never seen something move that quickly (heh) in speedrunning before. It usually at least takes days. Not hours. By 4 hours after it'd been discovered there was already a new world record using it.
@@duffman18 it's almost foolproof. Snake's damage animation is still very much a coinflip at best.
I was on my first playthrough in a long time and figured id try extreme, stuck on that damn tower for a week until i heard about the Boba skip and nailed it first go.
Thats relatively recent.
The vent glitch broke the game like no other.
The first time its Speedrun was registered, everyone thought it was a hack.
Specially on times of faqs and forums (early 2000s).

Hey I'm really glad you're back I never thought I'd see a new video from here again
love to see you back it's surprising how many episodes you're pushing out; with this one i felt it was a bit fast paced i'm not sure if i'm just slow but i lost track a few times, plus as someone who doesn't know this series i had no idea what was really going on
MGS is already a pretty short game if you know what you're doing, so some of these skips essentially let you cut past a huge chunk of the game. That's part of why it feels that way.

Im playing MGS since its release, things evolved and people were discovering glitches little by little.
Remember the vent glitch was described in the prison cell just to get over the bed for fun.
Than it was used in the skip showed in video, there was no youtube and stuff was described in faqs and forums early 2000s.
The weapon glitch too a while to be used to skip the communication tower, since if you do it before or after, you could get a soft lock.
And than it came the boba skip, discovered my accident on a playthrough of a player that was struggling to get through the tower run already in 2020s people started to try reproducing it effectively, until they managed to do it.
Once it was understood, even i tried and managed to do it.
Well the game is several years old and this video showed lots of useful glitches.
There are alot more, it felt somewhat rushed.
I still hear the “Snake… SNAAAAKE” in my dreams

skipping the sniper wolf bossfight was so popular that they gave us legit ways to skip the "the end" bossfight
I mean the gog version also gives you access to the randomizer mod which honestly will make GME pretty useful for beginners as the game becomes a challenge especially if you pick up ocelots bomb with 3 seconds on it.
Stormbreaker Pirate has a tutorial on getting it set up if anyone is wondering how to set it up and play it

In mgs1 you was able too make it where you can swap between your last weapon and the weapon your currently using on console. I would wonder if anyone has tried doing the psg1 glitch as you go into the hanger of metal gear.

Whenever I played the PS1 original, and I had to put in the second disc, the foundry wouldn't load properly, and I'd fall into a black void, get stuck, and softlock.
Saving and immediately re-loading that save fixed every problem, but it still kept happening.
Maybe it was just my discs, since I got the game used.
I honestly knew NONE of these glitches... Dang, bro... That was fun to watch ! :D
There is also technically a god mode glitch for console, it just isn't useful for speed running so you'd never see it. It's been a while since I discovered it so my memory on the exact details are fuzzy but it involves quick equipping the binoculars as you're exiting a vent. The easiest way to do it is to mash the quick equip button an you should scope in with the binoculars rather than getting the crawl animation if done correctly.
I'm really conflicted. On one hand, I cannot deny that the channel content is brilliant. Seriously, excellent work with all of your videos. On the other hand, I wish you would stop putting your voice on as much as you do if that makes sense? I suspect we're from the same or at least a similar area, and you sound so forced. Like it's obvious you don't actually speak the way you do in your videos. Just be more natural and your videos will be perfect.
I hope you don't take this badly, I just want to give you some constructive feedback, because your content really is awesome.
@A+Start there was one glitch in daisy cruiser in red part in the right
So cool, I found out as a kid that I could go back down before fighting the Hind D (he prob kicked my ass and I didn't want to fight anymore or didn't have enough rations so possibly wanted to get more) and those boxes were blocking me. I did go over them before but just went to the other side and got could not go back up, didn't know about falling to the side. Also weapon glitch I never knew about, just recently found out about the vent glitch. MGS is such a cool game game with come cool glitches.
The vent glitch have been around for 20 years, it revolutionized the speedrun people though the guy was cheating and it took a while to surface.
Boba skip was discovered a couple years ago, it made a fuzz in the internet, discovered by accident, the community joined to test it and reproduce it, this was quite cool, i recommend you to search about it.
I'm glad that he's uploading again, I stayed subscribed for a year in case this happens, and I'm glad I didn't unsubscribe.

As usual, I enjoyed the Son of a Glitch episode but I've noticed that you don't use the intro sound anymore. The older episodes voiced "Son of a" followed by a female computerized voice saying "Glitch" and I always thought it was really cool. Just curious as to why you don't include that anymore. I'm sure there's a good reason. Either way, love this series.

Wolf 2 doesn't seem skippable on the master collection if you walk bast the invisible wall you can just keep going and it will softlock you
