You know, ever since this game has been released, there's been a weird glitch where Nintendo has refused to ever acknowledge Mission Mode ever again
It's really unfortunate...
I do wish Nintendo would patch it eventually
It was sort of in MK Wii as well, but only as time limited challenges through wifi.

It's not hard to do if you play a lot. I've done it a few times as well. Very frustrating if it happens during a difficult race.

The Rainbow Road in Mario Kart DS would've been perfect as a retro course in Mario Kart 8 because of the anti-gravity potential but oh well. Mods are always a thing, I guess.

Fun Fact: If you play Balloon Battle while on an airplane, you will automatically have the max number of balloons available at any given time without touching any buttons.

Fun fact if you blow in the mic it will blow up your balloons and it works faster then pressing and holding buttons. So what is happening in the airplane is that the mic percieves sound (might be out of your hearing range tough) and thinks your blowing in the mic, and it acts accordingly, blowing up your balloons for you. But since the sound isnt stopping it also wont stop blowing up balloons untill youve either reached the 3 balloons limit (tough you can get up to 5 if you steal balloons with mushrooms) or you dont have any balloons left to inflate
@@jismeraiverhoeven Not entirely correct, you can still only have three baloons. If you try to steal one using a mushroom when you already have three baloons, the fourth will simply fly away.
Most of these aren't really so much "glitches" as they are "physics engine quirks".

@@ederbanks I mean no disrespect by this, but a quirk is by definition, moreso relative to a feature (As in, intended), whereas a glitch is a temporary or a sudden irregularity or malfunction (As in, unintended). So, while very similar, (and by all means language is an ever evolving thing, so I can't say you're downright wrong, because you're not,) the not so well known distinction between the two words is the intention or lack of that differentiates them. Again, no disrespect, just randomly felt like watching the video and noticed that I very much agreed with the notion that some of these just weren't what I consider a glitch. Anyways, cheers mate! Despite not knowing a thing about you, I hope all is well in your world, and if not, I hope things shape up soon. :D

Not my first game but certainly one of my top favorite handheld games of all time.
8:05 mario kart maps are cut up into segments and are divided by checkpoints, the game checks to see if you hit these checkpoints and if you skip them you cannot progress.

I have two "childhood fever dreams" that have to do with this game it would be nice if any of you could confirm or deny this. I was very little so keep that in mind.
The first one: I was playing as Bowser and was around 5th place, then Peach speeds up and starts driving next to me, then she says "excuse me..." before bumping into me and taking the lead.
The second one (this one is REALLY weird): I unlocked the Yoshi Circuit for the first time and when I get to the part that is supposed to be Yoshi's arm (the shortcut you can take by using a mushroom) ALL the computer players start falling into the water, as if they were trying to do the shortcut without the shroom. This only happened once and it was only on my first time playing, I was Yoshi on the Egg1 in a 50cc Grand Prix.

It’s a bit odd that it isn’t in there since it doesn’t “cost” anything to add. Maybe he is worried that these aren’t real episodes while covid is going on, but they’re still numbered episodes of glitches under the same name. Hopefully it comes back in the next one!

Mario Kart ds was my first mario Kart game I ever played, and i'm happy to see a son of a glitch episode on it.
Ive been waiting for this video for a long time. This is my favorite mario kart and also one of the ones i grew up with. Earlier today i actually played this with a friend i was visiting, so the timing could not have been better. Thats a like from me.
I remember a time when I was playing ds air ship, a Monty mile knocked me off the track and lakitu kept spawning me over respawn points, so I was Infinitely respawning, but it's been a long time so I dont remember it that well

The glitch I'm most familiar with is the crash in Luigi's Mansion. I made the mistake of telling my little cousin this while we were playing on that track...now that he knows, he might do the crash while we're racing on that track for fun, especially if I'm way ahead XD

I discovered the Yoshi Circuit "lap skip" back in 2013, long after I'd figured everyone stopped playing the game and uploaded the first TH-cam video of it. Glad to see this glitch is being popularized and executed today!!

When I heard the title theme, nostalgia hit me like that train from asdfmovie.
I got a glitch (really more of an exploit) that's super fun for Mario Kart DS.
It works best on the hard setting of Balloon Battle, since CPU's are more aggressive. Select the Twilight House stage and station yourself at one of the four protruding ledges found at the four corners of the stage. Position your kart as close as you can to one of the two side-corners of this ledge, to the point where you're almost about to fall off. This doesn't work for the center-corner of the ledge (that's furthest from the center of the stage). Once there, inflate your balloons and watch as the CPU AI glitches out and sends its CPU players driving off the edge of the stage as they charge at you with shells and stars, not realizing that there's a bottomless pit in their way. You're not completely invincible, but you'll damage them a lot more than they'll damage you, especially if you load up on some defensive items.
