Bjorn, It was a pleasure to meet you in Buckeye. Thanks for visiting our part of the world and we look forward to your future USA road trip videos. Robert and Bernadette
I personally enjoy driving among the barren desert, especially through all those strange rocky landscape :) Btw, the route 66 detour was a smart choice! I am glad you got experience the historic highway.
Loved the video Bjorn! Really enjoyed seeing people's reactions to the X. Can't wait to see what your Norwegian friends think about Optimus Prime! Theyre going to go wild :D
I think this comment comes a bit late, but anyway, really love your channel. The information you provide is so informative. Oh, if you come over to the U.S. again, make sure you ask for assistance when you go shopping in either Walmart and other department stores like Target if the merchandise you want to buy has a protective locking device on the hanging pole. Those are there for anti-theft purposes. Don't waste your effort tearing them out. ;-)
To keep the air and accessories running, reach back in and press the brake pedal when getting out of the driver's seat. This will allow you to keep everything on the inside running with the door fully closed. This works on the Model S. I would assume it may work on the Model X as well.
I'm sorry, but I started laughing so hard when he couldn't figure out how to get the phone mount off the peg at Wally World. You need to get a worker, and they have a special key to get the security lock off.
+Ryan Losinger Is it common for your shopping to require this kind of worker assistance in the US? First time I'm seeing this, and it seems kind of cumbersome.
+playgrrrr They usually do it for the smaller, more expensive items. Kind of surprised they had it on a $20 item. Even more expensive like phones and stuff and they usually put it behind a window.
Xenocidel Yeah it was only on the phone mount and not on the other things they bought during the video. I'd understand having it on smart devices or things of similar nature, but I'm not an expert on how high the losses due to theft are in different categories. I'm not an expert on theft prevention either, but this method seems weird to me. Maybe shoplifters are more tenacious in that area than elsewhere, lol. We have similar things on goods here too (clothing for example), of the nature that are removed by cashiers _at checkout_. But maybe there are none like that that can't be ripped off too easily. Then again Bjorn was able to rip it off too. Makes no sense to uneducated me.
Bjorn, great video! FYI - in the Wal-mart when you wanted to purchase the mobile phone mount that was theft protection that caused you all that grief. The clerk when asked uses a device to unlock the holder and then allows the item to be easily removed.
As long as you didn't put it in the camera bag you were carrying you were safe. Also Ammery videoing your struggle helped - folks stealing things tend not to video their deed. Nice visitors from Norway that are youtube sensations video everything! :-)
So you borrowed the Model X 90D and put almost 2800 miles on it? Nice! Seeing this makes me want to take 2 weeks and hit the road! Haven't done that since 2010. Maybe in 2017 after I get my new Model 3?
Thanks Bjorn for another awesome video. Already looking forward for the next part. It is a pity that the Model X is so expensive here in Sweden, unfortunately, the only model that is large enough for my family.
In Sweden, the cars are not cheap. For example, Tesla Model X 90D priced from $ 123,902.64. We have a super eco-car bonus for electric cars at $ 4644.90, so the price will be $ 119,257.74.
+Anders Strömgren Strange. Sorta. In Norway, I heard cars are 2x the price. My friend wanted a Mercedes S class in Norway but it was SOOO expensive that he had to buy it in the US and ship it over to Norway
It is funny to see you wrestling with the package that is locked because so many people in the US steal things like phone mounts. Sad that the items were locked because of the actions of a few.
Hey Bjorn, next time you visit Thailand, do a road trip there. Either rent a Tesla or maybe one of your fans there will be able to lend one to you. Would be great to see the nature and roads of some Asian countries =)
bjørn, you see the stall 3A and 3B. whoever pulls up to one of these stalls in 3 first gets the full charge while the one that pulls up after you gets whatever is remaining.
Gila Bend is one of those places with weird pronunciation. It's pronounced "heela bend". Also, you guys drove about 50 feet from my house on this trip! I should have waved as you whizzed past! :D
+Ty Lloyd Yeah, that is a real shame! It's great photo opportunity and cornering opportunity! I hope you'll get to come again and take it next time! 89a is a must drive between Flagstaff and Sedona, and still kind of nice from Sedona to Phoenix, although not as nice.
09:40 actually it doesn't heat up water but oil which is stored until power is needed, then the 300-400°C hot oil is boiling water and pushing this thru turbines. :)
I saw this infomation about these amazing solar tower farms and most new ones now use this system it seems? > Early designs used these focused rays to heat water, and used the resulting steam to power a turbine. Newer designs using liquid sodium have been demonstrated, and systems using molten salts (40% potassium nitrate, 60% sodium nitrate) as the working fluids are now in operation. These working fluids have high heat capacity, which can be used to store the energy before using it to boil water to drive turbines. These designs also allow power to be generated when the sun is not shining.
When you were zooming in on the solar farm, were you watching the road or did you have complete faith in autopilot? Must've looked pretty crazy to the passing car, haha.
How do you like Tesla's proprietary supercharger plug shape they use in the US vs the EU type supercharger plugs? They look rather well designed and streamlined. If they can handle 300+ kw in the future it will highlight how unfortunate it is that CCS and Chademo plugs are so bulky.
I really enjoy your videos. I have a question, what would happen if somebody broke into the car and took the tablet? Is the tablet just a screen or does it have all the software too? Could you plug in your own iPad? Have you ever seen an error pop up on the screen? Can you diagnose at a Tesla station? Sorry if you have already answered these questions.
What was that thing taped to the window in the bottom right corner of the windshield that said Tesla? Also on your next trip you guys ought to go through Colorado or Vermont those states are very nice visually compared to that side of the country They are also coming out with a five seat configuration that has no 3rd row at all. Its Nevada that is one of the states with alot of deserts which is why its so hot. Also how do you not get pulled over without a plate on that Model X Those are Lock pegs you are supposed to get an associate to unlock it for you lol
+Andrew Jamison The thing taped to the windshield is a temporary registration, which you get when you buy a new car in California. You put your registration paper into a plastic holder (that's what says Tesla). Licence plates come later in the mail.
Too bad you were driving Interstate 8 at night. Along that highway, there is one particularly scenic stretch between El Centro and San Diego through Cleveland National Forest. Scenery you will never find in Norway :)
+mwildish I don't think so. When I measured the charging time, it was some 20°C outside which is not hot at all. And before that I was driving calm. In order to get any heat issues, I have to drive hard, typically doing full accelerations to 200 km/h and the ambient temperature should be over 25°C.
There was a point in the video where the charging was very slow at first, you commented on it. Then it seemed to get faster. Perhaps I misunderstood you.
mwildish It was at Primm. The reason for the slow charging there was that I shared charger with another car. As soon as I moved, I got 115 kW which is almost max. Listen and re-view that part again and you'll see I talk about stalls and moving the car :)
You have a cute wife. I enjoyed your video - I didn't watch the entire thing, but the 30 minutes I watched were enjoyable. Subscribed. I wish I could afford a Tesla myself, but surely at one point.
With 300 miles range and all those super charging stations popping up everywhere, the so called "range anxiety"' syndrome is already a thing of the past! :)
Dont you need number plates in the USA? Because the Model X had the standard "zero emissions" number plate in the back and no plate in the front. I am confused.
At 1:01:20 where you talk about "this part of America being flat". Actually compared to most of America that's really hilly. You should come out to the midwest sometime (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midwestern_United_States) and see what flat terrain really looks like.
A bigger battery pack means more individual cells. If you're charging 8000 cells at a total of 20 kW vs 10000 cells at the same 20 kW, it will take longer to charge the 10000 cells.
+gdg 9okj I always wonder why people ask these questions. Any cheapo phones nowadays can record hd videos. If you don't own a phone that can record at 1080p i apologize but your question is still odd.
beenn15 A phone is nowhere near as good as a camcorder. Camcorders have optical image stabilizer, optical zoom, better dynamic range, resolution, colors, way better glass, better grip, better compression and bitrate, tons of features... 1080p is not 1080p.
Bjørn Nyland thanks, I didn't know that. Glad to see you're doing a road trip here in the United States. Hope you and your wife are enjoying your time here.
Is it my imagination, or is the picture not quite as clear and steady as usual? Especially the distance shots. Do you suppose the Model X vibrates more than the S? After part 1 i already feel like I've been on holiday in the USA. Thanks!
Bjorn, It was a pleasure to meet you in Buckeye. Thanks for visiting our part of the world and we look forward to your future USA road trip videos. Robert and Bernadette
+romac1113 It was a pleasure meeting you too :) And thank you for the windscreen clean. It lastet for at least ten miles!
Ripping the phone mount out of the anti theft display was high comedy. Love your videos!
Lol! I did the same thing before. ..
+D.J. Harbaugh Well, I'm a noob in USA!
It's amazing to see how the Model X has attracted soo much attention from all ages and races.
Yes! Loving the long video length format, it made my day! Keep it up!
I love the music in this part. Very good taste!
I'm saving for the model 3, these videos help me see how awesome Tesla cars are.
Hey, Bjorn, very nice video. One of your best i have seen for now. Cant wait until Part 2. :)
Greetings from Germany! :)
+Bjorn You're taking your passion for Tesla to greater heights. Love your videos. Keep it up.
You put so much effort into these videos. Thank you.
That drive to San Diego from flagstaff is crazy long. Outside of Gila Bend is a cattle feed lot. I can't wait for my tesla

Makes no sense to uneducated me.
Here in Saudi, we have the same for PS4/Xbox controllers and video games and whatnot, never seen it on $20 item.
Oh btw when you stopped to take a photo of the saguaro. The smell was most likely those creosote bushes.
Love this channel just subscribed
+JukeBoxJame5 Thank you :)
Bjorn, great video! FYI - in the Wal-mart when you wanted to purchase the mobile phone mount that was theft protection that caused you all that grief. The clerk when asked uses a device to unlock the holder and then allows the item to be easily removed.
+Don Miller Shieeeet. It looked like I was trying to steal one.
Maybe in 2017 after I get my new Model 3?
these solar farms are impressive and look like they come straight out of a scifi movie :D awesome. hope they will build more
Interestingly, some of those huge solar farms are actually used to power the SuperChargers
Thanks Bjorn for another awesome video. Already looking forward for the next part.
It is a pity that the Model X is so expensive here in Sweden, unfortunately, the only model that is large enough for my family.
I heard cars are extra pricey in Sweden and Norway
In Sweden, the cars are not cheap. For example, Tesla Model X 90D priced from $ 123,902.64. We have a super eco-car bonus for electric cars at $ 4644.90, so the price will be $ 119,257.74.

If I understand correctly the fossils cars in Norway are expensive for they have some environmental fee.
Would be great to see the nature and roads of some Asian countries =)
agree, road trip thailand-malaysia(kuala lumpur)-thailand
Thailand doesn't have the infrastructure to support Teslas, unfortunately.
Crazy how rare Model X's were in 2016....now they're everywhere!
You should do a trip of the Midwest in America during winter... I live in Minnesota and you'd probably like it.
+shane Frazier Western SD is pretty fun in the winter too
Ty Lloyd #midwest ftw... Lol
USA road trip - yes for me in 1 year :) hope to get Tesla till then
bjørn, you see the stall 3A and 3B. whoever pulls up to one of these stalls in 3 first gets the full charge while the one that pulls up after you gets whatever is remaining.
Gila Bend is one of those places with weird pronunciation. It's pronounced "heela bend".

Road trip music oh yeah
lol hilarious when he was trying to make defeat the store security lock lol
excellent informative video Thanks
haha, great you two can bond over the cool new technology
Dude you need to ask the wal mart staff to remove the item that are kept locked. All caught on camera LOL :)
oh no! you guys didnt take the road from flagstaff down through Sedona! that is a wild road for any good handling car

+Jake Smith It's not easy to steal the 17" screen as it's well integrated into the dashboard.
Hi Bjørn, I've always wondered if the Auto Pilot works fine on the “cat's eyes" road markings. Like at 17:40
+Yousef Noori (JoeyGames) It works ok. But many times it has problems following the line.
Bjørn Nyland Good to know, because many of the Highways/Ring Roads here in Saudi Arabia are marked like that.
What was that thing taped to the window in the bottom right corner of the windshield that said Tesla?

Now that's a road trip,beef jerky!!
Awesome video as always! I have a question... Do you know anything about the Model S P90D that you won?
+Andreas Lie Still waiting.
Okay
Its a model X. Not S
He won a X AND a S
Yeah, he won two cars!
Since it was very hot in AZ and CA while you were there, what impact did running the air conditioner all the time affect your mileage calculations?
Perhaps the slow charging was a delay due to the heat. It needed to get the battery cooling sufficient to high speed charge?
+mwildish I don't think so. When I measured the charging time, it was some 20°C outside which is not hot at all. And before that I was driving calm. In order to get any heat issues, I have to drive hard, typically doing full accelerations to 200 km/h and the ambient temperature should be over 25°C.
Bjørn Nyland That's interesting. Perhaps some glitch or sensor made the software think it needed to start slow?
mwildish What slow charging did you refer to?
There was a point in the video where the charging was very slow at first, you commented on it. Then it seemed to get faster. Perhaps I misunderstood you.
mwildish It was at Primm. The reason for the slow charging there was that I shared charger with another car. As soon as I moved, I got 115 kW which is almost max. Listen and re-view that part again and you'll see I talk about stalls and moving the car :)
Great video!
+ejp001 Thanks :)
there should be electric tintnting on theat winshileld upper part
+Ranno Rannikmaa Electric tinting is a thing? Send this suggestion to Elon Musk! :)
+Ramon Zarat well somewhwre i commented that there should be ludecrous speed mode - like in spacebals and within 6 months there it was
Bjorn, in which hotel did you stay in Las Vegas? Maybe you recommend something.
nice trip..!
I want to do a road trip someday in my Model S
still wondering how come did you cross a huge part of the US without number plates 😂
Damn, I really don't understand how 22° is hot.
In germany 23° is standard temperature in houses, everything lower is considered fairly cold.
AYY THIS WAS MADE ON MY BIRTHDAY!!! (:
Where did you rent the tesla? Can you please tell me the name of the company? And How much did you spend for renting it?
You have a cute wife.
I enjoyed your video - I didn't watch the entire thing, but the 30 minutes I watched were enjoyable. Subscribed.
I wish I could afford a Tesla myself, but surely at one point.
How much time did you spend just at the superchargers if you sum it up? Actually you drove about 1700km in this video.
+Max'l Power Average charging time on each place was 30 minutes.
Do you think you could have done this trip with a 75KW version of the car?
With 300 miles range and all those super charging stations popping up everywhere, the so called "range anxiety"' syndrome is already a thing of the past! :)
Agreed there seems to be at least one within every 100 miles from each other which is perfect
Your English is really good! It's your native language?
Hello Bjorn, What is your doing in California?.. Are you two in vacation there? How about your free Model X Did you get it already?
+Nelson Lebrun We were on vacation, yes. I'm still waiting for my Model X.
+Bjørn Nyland How did you win it?
lol, how hard you make it yourself to get something out of the shelf.. you should have just asked one of the workers...
Dont you need number plates in the USA? Because the Model X had the standard "zero emissions" number plate in the back and no plate in the front.
I am confused.
Since it's a new car, he put the number plate on a piece of paper and on the dashboard.
Bjorn, the type of guy to rip the box off the Walmart hanger instead of having the employee unlock it.
be careful with autopilot I want to see more videos from you
lol
Don't be mean...let wifie buy something when she goes shopping in beverlyhills...lol..ha ha.. Good video dude....
+Biftizmo Thank you for watching =)
At 1:01:20 where you talk about "this part of America being flat". Actually compared to most of America that's really hilly. You should come out to the midwest sometime (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midwestern_United_States) and see what flat terrain really looks like.
+Ergzay We haven't been in Kansas yet :)
+Bjørn Nyland HAHA come to Canada. British Columbia. That'll show you what hilly looks like. There's seriously no road that is flat in BC
A bigger battery pack means more individual cells. If you're charging 8000 cells at a total of 20 kW vs 10000 cells at the same 20 kW, it will take longer to charge the 10000 cells.
08:58 Cruising the Route 66 in a Tesla MX like in a train. :)
hola bjorn. what video camera model you use?
+gdg 9okj I use a Canon HF-G10.
Just like in American Truck Simulator :D
Бьёрн, ты наверное замучал бедную девочку))))
hey bjorn is that your car
You 2 are so cute in Vegas
Are the cars loud when they charge?
+shane Frazier Yes, the cooling fans make sure the battery are running at optimal temperature and don't take any damage from fast-charging.
Bjørn Nyland thanks, I didn't know that. Glad to see you're doing a road trip here in the United States. Hope you and your wife are enjoying your time here.
The only way I make such a trip is in an RV. I cannot stand boring desert trips in the US.
What are these "miles" you're talking about?
MrDumbDrunk like "chains"?
Gives me a hit for "Miles & More - Europas größtes Vielflieger- und Prämienprogramm"
great. What now?
Nearly a car accident at 11:49 you can hear the screech
why did she sniff the phone at 2:17 ?
wow.....
Wifey is sleeping 90% of the time :)
Дороги!
re: the trucks driving fast... most freeways/highways have 55mph speed limits for trucks, but the truckers don't drive that slow.
You rent the car in usa?
Is it my imagination, or is the picture not quite as clear and steady as usual? Especially the distance shots. Do you suppose the Model X vibrates more than the S? Or maybe the camera mount was not as solid for some reason? Just curious.
Re: Your stop at the Grand Canyon. I was surprised that you said nothing about it! It is one of the greatest wonders of the world, to most people. Not impressed? Or just not your style to comment about scenery?
Re: power front doors. It looks as if they are not such a great idea under some circumstances. I hope they can be turned off. In fact, I wish they could be omitted from the luxury interior package, because some people may want the bioweapon defense and enhanced lighting, but not the power doors.
As an aside, I am surprised you do not wear sunglasses, especially when outside the car. Or do you just take them off when you appear in the video?
+DAVID BRYANT I had some problems with vibrations due to poor road surface. I never wear sunglasses.
He is from Norway. Grand canyon can't impress us :)
51:50 map display bug
Ahh, eating nöa häng/nua haeng in a Model X!
didn't you win a model x?
+SquirrelFromGradLife Yes
wow, I found Thai people.
I think, that autopilot is for those people who does not love driving and likes to stay at home.
+Ivan Ivanov So airplane pilots do not love flying?
+Bjørn Nyland Maybe,I dont know, but it is job for them.It is little bit another thing.I am speaking about driving private car.
Ivan Ivanov Have you ever tried autopilot or similar on other cars before?
+Bjørn Nyland Yes,I did.But autopilot was my wife and I remember that it was not very good feeling for me.Take it easy Bjorn.
Ivan Ivanov You should try then. You should also watch 7:05 again. I point out something about the autopilot that you might be interested in.
Tesla should pay him for making videos about Tesla.
Can you translate into Chinese? Your video popular in China!
能翻译成中文吗?你的视频在中国人气很高啊!
所以是中國人嗎?
it's where you get what you pay for.
Theres a corpse on your backseat!
I'm saving for the model 3, these videos help me see how awesome Tesla cars are.
