as a pianist whos been playing from a young age, this hurt to watch. it felt like torture watching an instrument being disrespected. my heart was sore watching this. he could've easily just danced on his own.
I agree man. It's not nice to disrespect something like that, especially when you're not just disrespecting *a* person, but disrespecting an entire genre of music, along with pretty much everyone who plays it or participates in it. Maybe that's a little too much, but it definitely felt like they're trying to make the entire classical genre seem boring at the very least, and that's already enough to anger more than just a few people.
They give em a sheet that is a tone oft and then they play the wrong track over it so it sounds shit. Its just a show. He probably isnt even a proper musician
Omg! Well I guess congrats to her, for managing that. All the "performances" in this video were sacrilegious on a level that was unimaginable before...this....

As a pianist, für Elise is one of the simplest piece that I have played, it just sound hard but easy. When that pianist was about to start his music, it was La campanella, a very hard piece so I was surprised. It just shame me when people don’t respect classical music, if you don’t respect it, then don’t play it, it’s shameless, not famous.
Or maybe America's Got Talent is so off in judging talent, they won't even recognize Ling Ling and think he's just another classical music dude because he's actually playing the instrument. _sad violin, piano, cello, viola, piccolo, you get the point, noises_
Maybe the audience was actually woke and was yawning because he was playing Für Elise and just the first page as well like every beginner pianist plays that
I think it was just creative editing; these "reality" shows will do that, put in a shot of something that actually happened at some other time in the production, to influence how you think about that particular scene.
@@guccideltaco it most definitely is. There have also been times in the show where they place someone in the audience with a microphone just to say certain things to make viewers laugh or feel a certain way about performers.
OMG I AM A FLAUTIST AND I AM OFFENDED BY THAT FIRST DUDE EEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Also he was playing an alto flute which is in G, a normal flute is in C, which is why they were a tone out
I’m a flautist And this is absolutely horrendous. It’s not even multiple pitches, the flute isn’t even tuned and his breaths are so noticeable which Is not suppose to happen.
Hey guys, I've been to a live episode of AGT before and I wanna let you know that the audience reaction is totally fake. In fact, before the show even started, they pre recorded all of us making various fake reactions to things. They would say "ok now look surprised" "Okay, now clap". So everything you're mad at in this video could just be all the editor's fault and none of it actually happened how it looks like it happened.
@@roryreviewer6598 How can you get the people's reactions and the judges reactions when they show both at the same time. There is no way they could record them separately. I don't think any amount of editing will be able to do that.
My school stopped calling the talent shows talents shows, and started calling them variety shows probably because they realized none of the school has talent. America’s got variety.
8:01 I cake back to watch this after our school had a talent show. Two students played classical piano, and I remember the crowed was cheering at the top of their lungs. They got elected to the finals (so did I) but the crowd (mostly made up of friends and family of the contestants) had to vote. So it wasn't the fairest wins for some of us. But I loved the classical music appreciation.
Why do I feel like there's something grammatically wrong with this sentence but can't find what it is! Or it really is a legitimate but complex sentence.
As a pianist, those stools cost a LOT, especially if you get a really good one. Anyone sane individual would not kick a piano stool. I really don't think that dude was sane
@@anastasiawasylinko5482 For reference for folks who don't know piano levels/use a different system, Fur Elise is one of the earliest pieces you learn on piano after your scales and simplified folk tunes like Scarborough Fair. So. Not terribly impressive.
Betty-Alexandria Pride i remember my teacher telling getting mad because of my flute angle lmao my posture was good but my flute would tend to droop by the end of playing lmao
You guys are so right about everything being scripted, zooming in on audience members, who happen to have a microphone near enough to them to pick up what they're saying at just the right moment. Also, what about the very bad acts? You know they know about them ahead of time. There are auditions beforehand.
The reactions to that pianist dancer guy made me so mad. People have such short attention spans that they think any classical music is boring. The judges fall asleep to someone playing classical music well, then give a golden buzzer to the people who go up and play michael jackson with horrible technique.
I heard some where else that they typically film the reactions prior to the actual performances (that's why the audience behind the judges are quiet when the audio is playing cheering/standing ovations), so it's possible that the audience weren't actually yawning during the boRing cLasSicAL parts, but the reactions were all just prerecorded ones.
I'm pretty sure this one guy didn't yawn because of classical music. He just did it sometimes (most probably not even related to the performance) and they just thought it would be perfect material to put in there to show how booooring classical music is 🙄
I just hate it when someone starts to discriminate classical music, or any genre of music. Like dude, aren't you educated enough to respect people who trained for years to master their instrument or that kind of genre?

I finally got enough money to buy my freedom out of the sweatshop where I came here to America's got talent to put my guitar skills out into the world. im a beginner flutist, so here’s my opinion on the first guy: • why is he holding it like that, just hold it up, it’s not that hard • he’s breathing in all the wrong places (and he’s making it very obvious) • there was no need to strip, he just needed to find some way to “save” his performance • *TUNE. @Gabriel Garcia there are some highly paid good musicians out there that like to nicely flaunt a bit and get away with it , but this show should be taken off the air , the smutty English comedy shows of the 60s,70s have been - I always looked forward to the Liberace show in those days , the Black and White minstrel show was a favorite too.
I had been scrolling to look for a comment like this. She is far from irrelevant and is one of many who have helped to bridge classical music to pop and and alternative music.
I can feel you guys. I hate when they fake talent and the important one "strip ". I don't have that type of talent so I appreciate them like how I understand music. Yes, classical music is not everyone's type but it doesn’t mean they can capture an exact person that suddenly yawns each time it is about classical music.

I’m so relieved I stopped caring about AGT. When talented musicians and comedians were being sent home instead of acts whose whole shtick is kicking guys’ balls, I was done.
Same. Here in my country I used to be bonkers about my local Got Talent but as time progressed, kids with sad backstories started to win, people not from our country started to come and I eventually quit watching and I'm glad for that.
I agree with everything you guys said man. The other day I had my final music performance at school and I decided to play something from Schickhardt (on the recorder) with my ensemble and afterwards I heard (at least) the whole front row was laughing and looking away… Terrible… That caused the presenter to say “thanks for the sportive reaction”. Most of them were old classmates… (But in my language, I don’t know if this was correct english lol.)
I got so freaking triggered when he kicked the stool. How can you not think of how the paint will chip or how something could break of completely?! Would an artist rip up the masterpiece?! No!!! Because to them it’s art! The whole piano is art to a pianist! The keys, the bench, all of it! Dear freaking Jesus
Really loved you guys for stressing at that classical music point as I have felt the pain myself I really love classical music but whenever you perform it people consider it boring but once you start doing the boom boom even though a musician would find it out of tune still others will love it
OMG imagine that you were watching a violin competiton, and when the contestant can’t play, he takes his shirt off and starts pole dancing around his bow
I’ve auditioned for AGT twice once around the second or third season and the last time was in 2019 and they didn’t send anyone from the grouping I was in and there was very talented people there. It 100% is exclusively about what will get them the most views and not if the people competing have talent or not.
First he portrayed classical music as having nothing but one boring phrase from Fur Elise, then he does this strange robot dancing.... I experienced left lung failure after that.
He started young as a pianist and still plays Fur Elise on a talent show.... I mean if he was actually a musician he should actually show off his talent and play Liszt or something but eh. Maybe the director told him to play Fur Elise to emphasize how “boring” classical music is and it really pissed me off. Man if I ever hear Fur Elise or Canon in D on a talent show I am going to cringe to deathhh
The sad part is that italian guy seemed like he was genuinely a good pianist and probably has a lot of talent in piano but he would never win the show playing classical music on its own
I went to an America's Got Talent taping once. Before ANY of the acts audition in front of the audience, the production comes out and tells the audience: standing ovation on 1, 2, 3. now, everybody look up and look surprised/scared. Now, act bored. Then they pick some audience members for the close-up shots of people yawning, laughing, etc. (without anybody on stage.) They do the same with judge dramatic reactions. THEN, the auditions begin and you find out why you were looking up scared/surprised... there's an act with a guy doing aerial stuff. I left after the second audition.
I understand english is a little difficult if you are not from U.S.A or other country that speak English even for me is difficult so to write flautist instead of flutist is just normal 👌🙂
Privacy Lover sometimes, yeah. when we all consistently breathe at the same time, we have to stop and go, okay, you breath here, and you here, and you here, etc. more often, we just end up doing it naturally. I know I often breath last, because I can hold notes for longer than the rest of my section. it mostly just happens with out any verbal agreement/discussion, basically (this is for clarinet)
As a person who went to a filming of "Americas got talent" I can say it was the worst thing I've ever experienced. The audience is literally actors. You'll get maybe two acts and then the rest of the day is just filming audience reactions. Literally about 8 hours of nothing happening. Then they try to get the audience to compete for prizes by seeing who can cheer the loudest (for the take obviously). The thing is they'll never give the prize to anyone who actually wanted one (because once they get the prize what would be the incentive for the said audience member). The worst thing is they don't even hire an audience, but trick families into coming believing it was more of a show and less of a TV set filming. They basically force the "actors" to pay to be there. Worst thing ever. Edit: for anyone wondering, I actually found the clip of the showing that I went too. th-cam.com/video/M4si8EbMMys/w-d-xo.html Now it was nowhere near as exciting as it was shown here. It was literally them telling us to make scared faces, then cheer when he hit the ground and that was it. Then the judges went inside and it was literally them having us " compete to see who could cheer the loudest" Some kids were cheering so loud we were losing our voice, including me. Once I even locked eyes with the "DJ" and he shook his head and pointed to the camera (gesturing for me to look) this happened about 3 times before my Dad noticed and he was pissed. He eventually had us get up and leave. He told the DJ off as we left but I don't remember what he said. Ended up going to a buffet to make it up. TL;DR: went to a filming of AGT. Got to see one act, then was bribed too scream on camera. AGT are scum who trick families into being up paid actors for an audience. Edit #2: Forgot to mention it was like 90° F out there, so yeah...around 8 hours in that kind of hear screaming. Edit: #3 damn guys thanks for the support!
@@AA-ok9uw I fucking hated it...fuck them and fuck everything about them. And definitely fuck the guy I charge of getting the crowd to cheer. Literally looked at kids who were cheering so loud that they were turning beat red in the eyes and told them they weren't screaming loud enough to get a prize, just because he knew these kids would keep screaming for the camera if he just dangled a cool toy in front of them.
I got bored with reality TV shows like this one during American Idol. It was the same schtick every episode...I told my friends the reactions were fake and the show is bullshit. You just proved what my 16 year old butt could not so many years ago...AUGHOSIOWIENROIHEPIAURHISEUNIUTHASTUGSD!
I have always hated those """"""reality"""""" TV shows. They have nothing realistic in them, it is incredibly fake. It's like the XVIII th century "naturalism" (I know that now the term is connoted with the XIX th century movement, although it suffers from the same problem, I just think that the one from the XVIII th was more egregious), it is just a vain attempt to captivate audience by giving them the illusion of reality, something that you've created from A to Z. There is nothing real about it, it is just an illusion, an allure

I agree man. It's not nice to disrespect something like that, especially when you're not just disrespecting *a* person, but disrespecting an entire genre of music, along with pretty much everyone who plays it or participates in it. I think it was just creative editing; these "reality" shows will do that, put in a shot of something that actually happened at some other time in the production, to influence how you think about that particular scene.
That's what I think as well. Could even be a pre recorded reaction before the show even started. They did that to us when I was at a live AGT show.

A teacher kicked the piano stool at a pep rally at my school, and the worst part was that almost everyone cheered when he did that 😬
Hey guys, I've been to a live episode of AGT before and I wanna let you know that the audience reaction is totally fake. In fact, before the show even started, they pre recorded all of us making various fake reactions to things. They would say "ok now look surprised" "Okay, now clap". The reactions to that pianist dancer guy made me so mad. People have such short attention spans that they think any classical music is boring. The judges fall asleep to someone playing classical music well, then give a golden buzzer to the people who go up and play michael jackson with horrible technique.
I heard some where else that they typically film the reactions prior to the actual performances (that's why the audience behind the judges are quiet when the audio is playing cheering/standing ovations), so it's possible that the audience weren't actually yawning during the boRing cLasSicAL parts, but the reactions were all just prerecorded ones.

yup, lol. and stagger breathe with others in your section, that's important
@@sae721 Do you plan out your breaths?
Privacy Lover sometimes, yeah. when we all consistently breathe at the same time, we have to stop and go, okay, you breath here, and you here, and you here, etc. more often, we just end up doing it naturally. I know I often breath last, because I can hold notes for longer than the rest of my section.
it mostly just happens with out any verbal agreement/discussion, basically
(this is for clarinet)
Privacy Lover some people do, u just got to know the breathing limits of u and ur section to successfully stagger breathe
Do what you want but don't ever HURT INSTRUMENTS
what about the viola ?
@@eddyshair7880 well there's the exception
Walerija Sultan hey now don’t be mean to viola
@@eddyshair7880 no instrument deserves that kind of treatment, would you go onstage and punch a dog in the face. No! ffs lol
Agreed. Instruments are precious, don't hurt them 😂
As a person who went to a filming of "Americas got talent" I can say it was the worst thing I've ever experienced.

Now it was nowhere near as exciting as it was shown here. It was literally them telling us to make scared faces, then cheer when he hit the ground and that was it. Then the judges went inside and it was literally them having us " compete to see who could cheer the loudest"
Some kids were cheering so loud we were losing our voice, including me.
Kale Chips damn exposeddd
Capitalism at its finest, this is how humans turn themselves into slaughter animals by watching clowns in TV and try to mimic them.
As a guy who plays the piano. I wanted to disappear the moment he started playing that piece 9:21
