PLOT TWIST, When it's time for a human to die they transform into pokemon. Would explain the lack of human graveyards.

but they talk more about ghosts and yamask is a ghost type plus in one episode ash becomes a ghost separated from his body! meaning the soul become a pokemon but not the body. also, why a pokemon graveyard but not a human graveyard? and why don't all dead pokemon become ghost type pokemon? they just die.

Oddly enough, I actually read all of the books and such in DPP. Was surprised how a lot of these things were written.
The story which talked about eating pokemon's and then putting the bones in the waters is very much like this aboriginal story which I heard in class, talking about how the aboriginal people would always eat their fish clean and then put the bones in the sea so that it would calm a deity of some sort (don't remember all of it)

back in time pokemon may have married humans but you can still see them loving each other like ash's bayleaf which loves him or James's victreebel which showed it's love everytime it came out of the pokeball.

The Veilstone myth basically is that a guy kills pokemon, sometimes throwing them out. Next year, no pokemon are found (to kill). He searches far and wide,(probably) feeling guilty that he wasted so many lives. When he finds a pokemon, that pokemon treatens to kill him and others if he dosent stop killing pokemon. The man then appologises, and breaks his weapon to show that he means his apology, and that he won't kill any more pokemon.

And don't say that they weren't made yet, because I'm pretty sure that 1 month ago (How long ago your comment was made), Pokemon X/Y and Black/White where a thing. I understand, Black 2/White 2 being known as a remake, but I wouldn't know because I haven't played them.
Sonic The Hedgehog And yet, you understood exactly what he had meant by saying Sinnoh was the only region without a remake. Kalos has amazing graphics compared to the original games, so why would they do a remake anytime soon? Unova's graphics weren't as good, but still better than all the games leading up to it. And the next remake will more than likely be a Sinnoh remake since Kanto, Johto and Hoenn already got one. Kanto technically got two if you count it's rehash in the Gold and Silver remakes. You knew exactly what he meant, yet you took the opportunity to be an ass about it. Bye Felicia!

They will eventually get remakes, therefore they are one of the only games without a remake. X and Y won't get a remake for a LOONNNG time, so yes, I have no taken that game out of the equation. (Heh heh. Get it? Cuz' X and Y are variables?) *AHEM* But B&W are gonna get a remake in a few years, probably, or when a new system is announces after another new system... which may take a long time. Ahh... I remember the library. I had a conversation with a friend who said that Sinnoh introduced nothing new to the series. I have to disagree. On a similar note, when Sinnoh gets a remake, who wants to bet that a delta episode (or some equivalent) will be one big myth/origin story? I hope so.

I love Sinnoh lore. It's so interesting. My personal favorites are the ones about Giratina since it is my favorite Pokémon. I've built on it a lot myself, even going to saying that Arceus created Giratina with no purpose, and that's why it lashed out.

So; the first Salmon caught in the year (which for the Indigenous people of N-WAmerica is the beginning of the salmon migration) is processed with ceremony and fanfare.
in the pokedex farfetched and magikarp are considered a delicausy so people do eat pokemon and slowpoke in games and beef from miltank in the anime. Put that in a fact of the day
Gen 7 plot, the main antagonist leader of the game dramatically turns towards you and says: "All this time we've been living alongside pokemon. Treating them as pets to own, as tools to use, or as weapons to destroy with; when all along we never realized the truth... We are ALL pokemon!" Dun Dun Dun Duuuuuuun! xP

That pokemon in the first story could also be Giritina because it vanished into a place beyond seeing. At least, that's what I thought when I first played Pokemon Platinum.

Technically speaking, pokemon such as Gardevoir, Machoke, etc, were so close to humankind that it didn't matter. But to be blunt, you are correct; people screwed with pokemon.

Why did I laugh that hard when I read that?
My own personal theory concerning Sinnoh Myth #3 is that Pokemon have dominant DNA, meaning if they, *ahem* "mingle" with anything, the offspring will be a Pokemon, and that the original Pokemon, Mew, came to an Earth not unlike our own and "mingled" with the entire ecosystem, including humans.
Ergo, the common ancestor would be Mew, and the majority of the HumanShape form Pokemon would be the result of the Human/Pokemon "mingling."
This could also feasibly explain everything mentioned about Pokemon being hunted by humans, as well as their possible predator/prey relationships with each other. IE: They do not anymore, but they are descendents of a Mew and an animal which they did.
I read all the books in the Canalave library as a kid.

The in veilstone myth Pokémon may possibly refer to Giratina, which in turn would explain why the myth refers to Veilstone City, as it is the closest city to the Turnback Cave. Also, because the Pokémon fled to a location beyond sight, which is possibly the Distortion World. LIKE IF U MINDBLOWN

I dunno. Hoenn was pretty sick, you know, with all the hidden regi puzzles and the abillity to go under water.

Call me a noob or whatever, but generation 4 was what got me into pokemon and my first game which was Platinum Is so nostalgic to me even though it really wasn't that long ago. Sinnoh is my Favorite region and always will be. And tbh I think I know the sinnoh map better than I know my house. xD

Look at 1:24 ! Looks at the lake trio above Arceus, Dialga, and Palkia. Do you see it? If you don't, Uxie's color design looks similar to Arecus', Azelf's to Dialga's and Mespirit to Palkia's.

I've heard some people theorize that Sinnoh Folk Story 2 actually talks about the Zorua line, specifically, the evolved form Zoroark.

A scientist (can't quite remember it) looked into different mythologies around the world which revealed historical facts. Like the fact the world went through a huge shift in its poles causing the sun at one point to seemingly be at a stand still so there was days of sun and no night while other parts of the world faced perpetual night with no sun.
Mythology is just a story that has more supernatural flare to it to explain things that people couldn't understand at the time since one couldn't explain thing scientifically back then, so those weird stories in that library might have a grain of truth in them.
But anyway its cool that pokemon becomes more interesting as time passes XD

I dunno, I might marry a Gardevior, or another close-to-human pokemon. Let's face it, they're sentient, and can rationally think and feel. Also, if they really did evolve from the same common ancestor as humans, that's like a Cro-Magnon marrying a Neanderthal. (I never actually studied ancient man, but I think that's close?) Or, I could just be a freak who many of you who read this will assume I'd bang a monkey. (I wouldn't by the way.)

I used to re read the veil stone myth over and over when I was younger because I was obsessed with reading the books that that was my favorite. I used to recite it to my Pokemon friends XD I love this one

I think the third myth refers to Zoroark. It can disquise itself as a human to walk among us, but in the forest it "sheds its hide"
this was one of my favorite parts of Pearl and Platinum!! :D
one thing the last myth kinda brings to mind is the large amount of people with psychic abilities, or the fact that there are people that can use aura in the same way pokemon can.

Also, that story about eating pokemon makes my think of Native American rituals. Especially the "thanking the pokemon for the meal"part.
I've watched this a few times and I think there is a lot to dig into here. That Veilstone myth tickles my memory, and I feel like I heard something very similar to it in my youth (long before Pokemon Pearl came out). Sinnoh Folk Story 2 reminds me of several tribal rituals - I wonder if this relates back to any ancient Asian myths or if they are referencing Native American beliefs in it. I don't know what to think of Sinnoh Myth 2&3 yet. :/

the vailstone myth is talking about hunting with conservation its the same with storys from the native indians of america to hunt for fun is waste and your food will disappear indians saw it as disrespect and the animals would lash out in anger to take there vengeance.
For the first legend with the sword, I think it was saying that the man lost his humanity, but when the Pokemon told him they would exact a blood toll in return, he realized his life was equal to that of a Pokemon, and that he never stopped to think about the Pokemon as having feelings

I hid out in the library actually. I wanted a break, haha. Plus the music in those places ingame is always nice. My favorite is the museum in Ruby/Sapphire.

(THEORY OF MASSIVE PROPORTIONS, PROCEED WITH CAUTION AS THIS IS MY OWN THEORY AND NOT YOUR'S)
Arceus came, created the gods and Mew, an asexually reproducing being. From the first mew (Possibly not like the ones we have), came 19 different Mew, one of every type, with two being psychic. Only the second psychic Mew was pure and powerful; placing it as the first lower deity. From the other Mews came genetic anomalies in where one offspring would have wings and another would have claws. The genetic anomalies continued in each generation until they looked somewhat like the pure Mew, some with few distinguishing features, and others with more solid bodies. From the youngest generation came abrupt changes, such as feathers growing and a few ghost types starting to control inanimate objects such as trees and gems. The generation after that, the "Mews" no longer sounded like the pure being that ruled over them, or look remotely looked like it; therefore they were called other names. The pure Mew gave birth to 18 pure Mew (One of them being the Mew that was going to die for the creation of Mewtwo) To bring order to a new race of creatures that fought greatly. They, like most other beings, reproduced with another gender. They were very similar to many other bipedal creatures, and often married them, reproducing creatures with traits of both parents. The 18 and pure Mew ruled for centuries, until the population of their kingdom was scarce. The pure Mew and its psychic offspring stayed while the 17 others went and created lines of legends. The pure Mew did not reproduce again, but its psychic offspring did. The psychic offspring created its own line of offspring that would become some of the most powerful beings of legend, and even started populations on other worlds. The first Mew sacrificed itself so that humankind may have enhanced skills, such as psychic abilities, cunning, etc. Millennia passed and the psychic offspring died, and its bones on the altar of its shrine. About a decade more passed when those creatures came back; Mew was overjoyed. It spied on them, and saw they took its offspring's bones. Mew went into shock and encased itself in a psychic bubble at the bottom of an ocean where it would wait for some kind of signal.

I really advise you to learn how to make a meaningful sentence so that I can actually understand it. And the reason I called you 5 was not because of your bad English, but because your reasons are absolute crap. If you were from a foreign country I wouldn't expect you to learn English well, but I would expect you to have a brain, at least.
I would put forth the suggestion of a video including what pokemon are most likely to be real, which could make the best pets, and which you personally would like to have if they were real.
In the TV series there where a few mentions of humans eating Pokemon, like when Team Rocket went after a Farfetch'd saying they wanted to eat it, and when Ash though Prof Oak was cooking his Crabby and Oak said Gary's Crabby would be much better to eat.
Speak of the Girantina, I was thinking about that too! Its probably a glitch though...like how Missingo evolves into a Kanghaskan, lol.
Indeed. I remember way back in red and blue that I read the notes in the burned Cinnabar lab and found out that Poliwhirl was artificial and that the lab was probably the same one that was destroyed in the Mewtwo movie.
The story with Gardevoir and Ninetails from the first mystery dungeon would probably support this theory too. The idea that Gardevoir would protect its trainer by taking Ninetails' curse for its trainer, would at the least confirm that Gardevoir does have strong feelings towards its trainer. From there it's only a short leap to believe that it could fall in love with its trainer.
JWittz, where on earth (or Kanto?) did you get that awesome Gen III Red costume? Best one I've seen. Did you make it?
