Fantastic Phil , as an old now retired decorator , i used to get sent to collage every wed in them days to learn more of the trade , for instance , it was henry ford who invented the viscosity cup so he knew how much paint to spray on his cars , how quick the pint ran through was timed ect , i once worked in painting a factory in grange mouth in Scotland ICI who made paint for dulux , we were in the dept that the pigment Prussian blue was added or processed no masks in them days and when you went home you were picking out blue snotters from your nose lol , i can still remember the ingredients of paints , can you ? pigment ,thinners, binders and dryers , also can you guys remember the 3 reasons to paint ? sanitation , preservation , and decoration . i also used to do a lot of multi colour and special coatings mostly for corridors and toilets in factory's back in the day , you just popped the can gave it a stir or a good shake by hand then into a pressure pot the max psi was 30 , to old now but i loved my trade and done alright money wise , keep up the good work i loved the kitchen videos , chaz
Porta flec? Yep, did all that is college.... And loads won't know what drying process difference paints had either... But let's not tell them everything all at once lol
Interesting to see the process and it's nice to see them so open and willing to pass on information. I find it's always good to drop bits of technical info into conversation with customers to build your authority with them so videos like this are always usefull to regurgitate at a later date.
This is really interesting. I`d be really keen to see around other paint factories if they are willing to give you a tour. Also, there is basically nothing online about the components in paint. If one of the chemists from any paint company was willing to talk about this id be keen to listen. I`m a chemistry graduate now a decorator.
Well done Phil, now that was interesting !! Great to hear about a small bespoke company like this, credit to how they operate !! your educating us Phil , keep up the good work and Have a great Christmas and prosperous 2025
