- With Wedgwood just off the canal, we take a quick visit to the factory before heading up through Stoke-on-Trent on the Trent and Mersey Canal. Ryan nearly breaks the boat with a huge log caught in the prop just as we finish getting through the locks! We also have a quick catch up with Emma, Narrowboat Girl.

And speaking of old industrial buildings; that brick, concrete, corrugated iron, one there by the bottle kiln at 10:02 is a great reference for railway modelers who want to paint some weathered corrugated iron. And at 10:33, I'm guessing the "1780 KG" carved near top of lock gates is the weight of each one for information for maintenance crews who may have to lift gates out of lock.
I love watching your vlogs. Pixel was sniffing for vermin in that maze as wire hairs instinctively do and when she couldn't smell any, lets play stick. Narrow boat girl is an inspiration for us all. Emma is so enthusiastic about the everything she does and I'm sure she has a great future in front of her.

Lovely humourous vlog. To be fair to Ryan a bloomin great chunk of wood that shouldn't be in the canal nearly broke the boat 😀 Pixel seems to be getting even more confident on the ⛵ and was adorable and funny in that maze 😂🐕

after WW2 as a war bride. I remember as a kid she was always complaining whenever we went out

Drinking tea, little finger out, little finger in, the question still looms!!!! Looks like you can drag Ryan out of Australia, but not drag Australia out of Ryan as far as drinking tea goes. Again the word Posh, now you have the bag to prove you are Posh, even without the expensive mug. Liked the comments about new industrial area, not old industrial area. Keep it up on the cut, sun or no sun, you guys are still a bright spot for lots of folks.

We've not done the Wedgewood tour yet, but that's on our bucket list. We did do the Royal Dalton tour in Worcester in the l990's, but I'm not sure that it still exists. We bought our dinner china and glassware there at the "seconds" shop.
Yes, the seconds or factory outlets are the way to go with these sorts of things! Or the charity shops!

Since you both are equal partners in your relationship my thought is that you both are to blame equally when the boat gets broken. The reason is that you are equally affected when the boat is down because it's your home. Love you guy's great VLOG!

You two are always a sheer joy to be with! I always thought there was an "E'" in Wedgwood, so I learned something new. Alas, who wants all that expensive pure bone china these days? Useless, as you can't put it in the microwave, it loses heat faster than a cheap old mug and needs handwashing. My late wife and I had a super expensive Noritaki 8-place bone china setting but when we downsized our kids politely declined! We couldn't sell it. We couldn't even give it away to a charity shop! I hadn't the heart to just chuck it out so it rests in a friend's house still in its moving carton. I'm surprised Wedgwood is still in business. Happy for the employees though. Beautiful vlog. Lovely personal details.BTW - I notice you poured the tea in your cup first and then added milk - which means you have to stir. I grew up in the UK many moons ago, and my Mum always put the milk in first so we didn't have to use a spoon. Happy days. I LOVED Pixel in that maze. We had wire-fox terriers for years. Such high-energy dogs and wonderful companions even if they do fall into canals!

Well, look at the Wedgwood price thing this way, if a full set of Wedgwood is not on the boat, then it won't have to be replaced if the boat hangs up on a lock cill, tips, and the Wedgwood crashes to the deck.

Yes, very glad it wasn’t more serious. We are continuing on the Trent and Mersey once we’re through the tunnel, up towards Manchester 😊
Ryan, you should have kept that piece of wood, dried it, chopped it up and burnt it in your fire to keep it from being thrown back into the canal again. I don't blame you not wanting to buy very much Wedgewood stuff. Very pretty but I'd be too scared to use it lest I drop and break it. Keep on cruisin'.
Yes, Wedgwood and boats probably aren’t a great combination - a few bumps in a lock and you might end up breaking a few mugs!

Nice video guys, Pixel was just so cute in the maze,. As for the pottery thats a wtf . Even for an outlet store.
As for the near miss with the prop. I believe that I had said in the previous video ..,... Spares!!! ..... Almost proved right. Anyway you might want to consider just checking that the pitch is still good on the blade's at the tip. Easy to do through the weed hatch. Should only take 5to 10 mins. . Especially if you hear or feel any unusual cavitation.

You seem to have a novel weed hatch? Is it outside the hull? Most I've seen are within the engine bay so need a clamp down cover to ensure they're water tight. Being outside means this isn't needed?
Our weed hatch is inside the engine bay and does have a water tight cover. It’s tricky to access from inside the engine bay itself though, which is why it has it’s own little access panel at the back of the boat.

My hubby being English always make the cup of tea in the morning in a teapot, me being grown up in Australia just puts a tea bag in a mug, you would know this hey, so George my hubby disgusted in how I make a cup of tea, have said no no no make tea in a teapot. so I said if that is what you want make it yourslef, so for the last 25 years of Married life its his job to make the tea first thing in the morning and whenever we want one, So i feel thats a fair deal hey?.

Come to the U.S. for Wedgewood. I've seen it and other nice sets of China go for cheap at auctions in the Midwest as many do not entertain that way anymore, I guess.

Not too sure about Narrowboat design, the coupling may be a weak link in the transmission to limit/ prevent damage to something more expensive like gearbox or engine
