@@TheyCallMeDio to be fair, he has a protection from arrows kind of skill and his np does np seal for more stall. He also has a np charging skill. Hes not that bad for soloing
He isn't bad for soloing, its just well, his damage is in the wrong places.
If his third skill was better, he'd be quite strong. He just doesn't have the damage output to make up for his lack of support and looping options.
@@rancorrage5646 ya i agree, his skills are pretty strong, they just have bad synergy. most servants would kill for his first and 2nd skill 80%np charge on a 5cd is amazing and same with effectively cu's evade with a coin flip to stun enemies each turn. The only thing he really lacks is damage which sadly his third skill doesn't make up for enough.
Astolfo is a weird Servant full of contradictions - his deck says "Quick Servant", his 3rd skill focuses on his 1 Buster card; his build and clothes say "bottom", his package SCREAMS "top".

Him having below average stats and abilities and insanely strong skills is actually great flavor wise.
Astolfo was the weakest one among Charlemagne's paladins but always managed to complete difficult missions thanks to all of the magic items and relics he gathered during his journey. I like it!

Before Saber Astolfo was revealed, I was hopping Astolfo's seasonal variation would be a Swimsuit Lancer version that takes his lance and makes it fold out like a parasol.

Astolfo is hands down my fave servant, so I'll be spending all my quartz on this banner. Which is nearly 1000 at the moment. I got 5 grails I've been saving for him too. I really can't wait. To me, this is more hype than even Space Ishtar was.

After my massive fail with Spishtar, getting him in 2 tickets feels really good. And I finally have my very first 5* Saber.

For shits and giggles, slap on his bond ce, double Merlin along with Summer BB, and equip Star bomb ce’s/2030s on them. Then keep restarting the quest/boss/challenge quest until you get a brave chain with one of his buster cards and buff him with the merlins and then swap in Summer BB and lock the cards so that he can just go ham haha
I'm in dire need of saving for Quirinus so skipping Ash (consequently SaberStolfo too).

There´s also the fact that Santa Karna comes next year, is free, and almost broken for a quick saber.
When I saw his third skill for the first time, I almost immediately decided to put "Mistress of the Heavens" CC on his buster card, to maximize even more that card, plus double Merlin, and "joint recital" CE, can you imagine the potential damage of that critical hit?
im can guarantee with you that whatever "potential damage" he does is, it isnt as good as any crit servant out there, or even non crit. use the same set up, add 1 mozard and plugsuit buff, any 5* will out damage that crit with an art card, not even using that mistress of heaven.
still just one card though, 2 or 3 crit cards from most crit servant still out damage that single card

Imo he sits solidly in A after his buff. It gives him a well needed battery and a big star bomb on top of the other effects of the skills (NP regen and debuff cleanse) while keeping the cooldown at 5t.
This in combination with his second skill that provides great survival with the multipke hits evade and terror, and with his NP having 3t quick up and NP seal every time he NPs should make him reach that tier.
His third skill might not be amazing, but the rest of his kit is great
Honestly I would have preferred a five star Rama just to facilitate the image of Rama in nightingales Santa bag.

I'll roll 3-times, mainly for event CE's. My Saber roster is pretty stacked (Musashi, Okita, Nero Bride, OG Saber, and Mordred + all 4*'s and below), so he'd just get lost in the shuffle.
Honestly, I've been looking forward to Saber Astolfo ever since he was announced in JP; he's So Much Better as a Saber then as a Rider, plus I like him as a Boss Killing Servant instead of a Farming Servant, since he's pretty hard to make work as a Farmer anyway. Saber Astolfo is 1 of the Final 2 Servants that I'm looking forward to (Hopefully) getting this year in NA, so I Really Hope that I can get him, and (Hopefully) at NP 2, but if not NP 2 I just want to get him in general. Now, I wonder if anyone can guess who the Final Servant for 2021 in NA I'm looking forward to?? lol. ^_^

its not as bad as people make it sound.
with his 7hit extra attack he can gain a decent amount of charge in an aqa chain and you can just treat his 3rd skill as a 20%atk + 100% crit buff.
since hes a saber hell pull stars regardless and with a bit of support hell crit almost every turn.
I'm still on the fence if I'm going to roll for Astolfo or not. Castoria is my next for-sure target, and even though she's about half a year away I would like to start saving up for her.

I only started playing the game in hopes to pull his 4 star form (still haven’t and decided not to use the 4 star ticket on him because I wanted it to be organic). This is tempting but I’ll wait for a 5 star swimsuit Berserker Astolfo
Despite being "the crazy Servant", Astolfo doesn't qualify for Berserker normally so it'd HAVE to be something like swimsuit, yeah. They give us Grand MoonCancer Astolfo (he and Saint John the Apostle might qualify if they get The Moon as a Noble Phantasm), then I'll actually start playing FGO myself.
