I'd say he is a godsend for either new accounts or accounts with weak rosters. Being so self-sufficient just make him an universal good pick, but needing little to no set up from his allies means you only really need him. And for accounts with a weak selection of servants that can be really great. If you are new or lack a lot of the meta I'd definitely recommend him.
I can't decide on pulling for him or saving for castoria. How vexing

I'm collecting all the (at least elegible) Grand Servants, so ofc I rolled for him.
After 330 bloody quartzes and about 20 tickets, I welcome 1 D'Eon, 2 Chiyome and Teddy Hulk to my roster (along with one more Heracles to reach NP3). I don't have the mats for Orion yet since I finished upgrading all the other servants I had. My next targets are Romulus, Castoria and Tamamo Vitch. Once Darby's Grand Berserker is revealed, he'll be the next on the list.
@@tranxuanbao9175 used about 23 pulls, no orion. I stopped to save for Dino lady and Castoria. I just hope I could clear everything with just my SIshtar alone. If I pulled all for Orion, idk how much sq I could accumulate before Kijyo kiyo and Castoria arrives. And I'm cautious that I might not get them so I have to save more. + There's Morgan, they say she's busted and that I might like her so I'll take their word for it

A meme support for him would actually be Moriarty, since after using Orion's NP, you actually meet the threshold for Moriarty's S2, which then allows Moriarty to give him extra attack with Evil Charisma. Since Moriarty's also an archer, it's actually a little doable
To people who got multiple 2030 CEs then I just realized the power of double 2030s provides to make any of your Servants to Crit with the Stars so putting it in a Super Orion team...

@@Dudi4PoLFr yeah I just maxed out my first one (plus 10 crit stars per turn in case anyone reading isnt familiar) & got a second one which was my 6th copy so now I can do 18 stars per turn. Had great luck with that but only have ever gotten 1 kscope & no black grail :l haha

Orion is one of the very few servants I will set to "Always normal speed" NP. His NP has a 50% chance of making me laugh, and I want to appreciate it before the crit numbers go BRRRRRR.

I think something really important to mention about Super Orion is that he's one of a few offensive SSRs who pretty much hits his potential even at NP1. Sure, the extra Attack stat you get from higher NP levels would help, but it's mostly inconsequential compared to everything else his NP gives. Most every other offensive SSR probably wants NP2, and if not, they need an NP interlude.
This makes him an incredibly economical SSR to consider rolling for. You don't need to whale for multiple copies.
That being said, if you want a servant who is even better for soloing than him, QSH is almost as freakish and has a bunch more survivability and team synergy.
And then you remember append exists.
I’d say QSH is much more limited, is more dependant on his team and won’t get the job done as easily as Orion.
@@blackxel6414 not really. Just put the crit star gen cc and put a 2030 ce on him. Star gen is the only thing that holds him back as a solo unit.

Black Xel but he excels in being much more tanky and durable than sorion while also having a lot of attack and crit buffs for himself and can even provide more team support overall. That said I guess sorion beats him in terms of just raw power so yeah they both have their strengths and weaknesses I guess.
Hans is incredible for him imo. 3 turns of 10 np & 15 stars, and if paired with summer bb, the crit power is just unholy.
Yup, I was surprised Oni didn't mention Hans. He has all the tools Orion needs and is far more accessible than all the supports he mentioned (outside of Santa Nightingale, who is limited)
I've been using him with my max skill Merlin and Hans for my Atlantis play-through and gosh this is addicting.
I'm currently trying summer nobbuzerker actually, but maybe I'll try using Hans and then change him into nobbuzerker actually. You won't need to worry about stars and NP at this point anymore
I agree wholeheartedly, I use this team, I use 2 2030s(not limit broken) on Hans and Summer BB, and I have to say: basically removing the RNG out of Orion's kit is beyond disgusting.
@@ghostprojekt he's said on other videos that he doesn't recommend Hans on anyone because it'd be redundant, he fits literally anywhere on any team.
Despite almost no one having him, Edison is actually a pretty good support for Soopa Orion.
- S1 reduces his cds, giving him even better uptime on his busted skills
- S2 with a 2030 generates 18 (20 if mlb) stars per turn, meaning that orion never has to worry about stars ever, and also passively gains np for himself, making the times you have to click edison cards rare if ever
- S3 turns into a 50% crit damage buff with orion, due to the great scaling on orion's np oc effect, solidifying their synergy
And the np mostly acts as an np seal, giving orion more time to unga bunga

Let's get it baby! The last servant on my list for this year, got 600+ quartz and 25 tickets to spend on him. If I manage to roll Super Cu- I mean Orion I'll have gotten 20 new SSRs this year. Can't friggin wait, also gonna enjoy reading through the new Lostbelt!

I remember on JP I managed to NP2 him on 1 multi. Gotta say he is an absolute monster despite the lack of Merlin on my account (do have Vitch though). He is definitely someone who will help trivialize your setups if you're looking for Crit DPS.
At NP1 he's already a busted CQ servant
Got him when I was starting a JP account. Breezed through pre-EOR stuff because he slaps bosses without even max level or skills, also helped me earn a lot of materials on events by hitting harder that I normally can on nodes I have no business getting in with my poor lineup at the time.
Then I got Vitch.
I disagree about team comps. Orion works extremely well with Castoria and Tamamo, due to his insane NP gain on his Arts card, his NP which gives him 100% crit up for 3 turns and can be spammed, Castoria's NP charge and Tamamo's skill cooldown (which puts Orion's busted 3rd skill off cooldown much faster). Summer Artoria Ruler is also a great support, giving him crit up and removing her cards from the deck so Orion can be more consistent. On top of the crit supports you mentioned, there's also Merlin of course, and Koyanskaya in the future. He's one of the Servants with the most support options in the game.

IT'S FINALLY TIME FOR SUPER ORION!!! I HAVE STOCKPILED EVERYTHING FOR HIM!! As a side note, Super Orion asks an important question "Do YOU wanna see crazy Crit numbers SO HUGE that they flat out *IGNORE CLASS DISADVANTAGE*?"
Orion is also SO UNBELIEVABLY POWERFUL that he even works as a solo fighter! He just does everything he needs for help, giving him support is just making him even more broken then he already was!

Side note, my Emiya has to be Level 100 with good CCs and Max Fou'd and NP5 10/10/10 and with a good CE (Level 100 Trick or Treatment) to even come close to matching up to a Super Orion who doesn't have even need half that much investment to be a Crit God

They play different roles, Emiya soon to become a looping machine, while Orion is for nuking bosses, not the same thing
Comparing a 4 star and 5 star seems unfair
Emiya can finish a wave of hands in 1 turn on solo, while orion takes 3 turns. That says a lot about both

This man has a Merlin stored in each bicep, and his entire kit screams "You can't stop me". A certified boss killer, loveable chad, and the Grand Archer. Going to be using him on a lot of CQs.

Those buster crits are tempting ngl as someone who started FGO with Herc and Jalter but getting Scathach with her bunny suit coming later was faaar more tempting plus I already have both Ishtar and Gil already so I think I'll be saving all my quartz for Castoria from here on out.
Got Chad-rion with 10 tickets so count my lucky stars, Christmas came early this year! Didn't even have to tap into my Castoria savings and pulling him makes my absolute fiasco Saber Wars 2 pulls seem like a distant memory.
Gotta power through Atlantis to get his skills to 10, but I'm really happy right now.

To add more onto what was said in the video, he’s really good with np charge CEs, mostly Kscope. The bonus damage from CEs won’t make much of a difference compared to the buffs his kit provides so getting started on your NP loop since the start is good. Also for command codes, any star bomb CCs (use santa alter on him if you can). It may not seem like much but it’ll help you round crits on set up turns for your NP or when his s2 is down/or when you’re keeping it for the next turn.
All in all great servant, sadly I’m gonna have to try snagging him the GSSR, all my sq are kept for LB5.2’s second banner
Edit: I did get lucky and got him after 20 tickets and 60 sq ! Not touching my stash again until Romulus
Unfortunately for me, I don’t have any quartz for him due to spending them all on Okita and Reines and I am gonna have to skip him for Yang Guifei. I might try him in the GSSR at some point though or wait for his other rate up in the 2023 New Year’s event.

I think Okita and Reines are in the selection of servants that can be redeemed with the SSR ticket we're gonna get in a year or two (I don't remember which). Super Orion isn't, that's why I saved for him.

Artemis and him are probably the second best couple in FGO imho (after Oryo and Ryouma).
I didn’t think I would get him (and quite possibly might have been fine without him), but lo and behold Orion appeared on the very last tenshot I was willing to spend.
As someone who also managed to get Summer BB and Merlin this year, with a bit more time great things are about to happen.
I was planning to skip every banner to ensure a hefty amount of quartz for Castoria but since both Mr.Bear and Mandricardo are such a bro in the story I couldn’t help to spend a couple of multi.
Luckily I got both of them within acceptable amount and I can guarantee everyone that Super Orion worth every quartz you spend. He’s just as broken as QSH.

Honestly though, I've seen people compare van Gogh and Orion, so I don't feel too bad about missing out on him. Not to mention that him being so great in solo comps means you can just take him from a friend (most of the time).

I was never really aiming for him per se, but I figured I'd at least try, and maybe I'd get lucky, like I did with QSH. Did a couple of YOLO multis when his banner came out, but didn't get him. Then today, I got enough free SQs from doing the quest nodes to do another multi. Got a rainbow spark... and it was Artemis. I was getting a little peeved after getting teased by a gold Archer card like that, so I tapped away the rest of the summon animations, and after a few CEs, the very last pull had a gold sparkle, and then it turned out to be Orion. On one hand, that was an emotional roller-coaster. On the other, I just got the weirdo genki couple in a single multi, so I probably shouldn't complain.
With this, there'll be the new year's GSSR, and I won't be rolling for anyone until next anniversary and Castoria. Considering I got every single SSR servant I aimed for this year (including getting Junao, USAshi, and Spishtar to NP2), I can only hope stockpiling both my luck and my SQs will help be get Castoria and I won't become another one of those forum horror stories...
I did a Kitasean roll without a catalyst, nothing. Did one with this video playing, nothing. Combining your video with a skip roll though, got me Super Orion on the fifth ticket of my next Kitasean roll. This is how it's done! Time to save for Voyager who should be coming out in a few months.

@@zulhafiqbinmohdazrol4007 Bro SAME got Godjuna first multi but took me a little over 400 sq to get him to to NP2. Orion on the other hand took me about 400 sq to get him and about 3 more multis afterwards to get him to NP 2.
Got him while trying (and failing) to NP5 Mandricardo.
Gotta say Orion works really well even only at NP1, which is unusual for a Limited 5*. Still need to try the teamcomp with Double Merlin tho.
I mean, he literally one-turned the first quest of Atlantis (which is time-limited) with a Brave Chain, not even a Buster Brave Chain.

One of the few servants that can actually solo full power kiara. His story is just top tier and soloing with him is always fun. Recommanded roll especially since the story fights gets more and more forced support which means you cannot take him there from your friendlist.
I ended getting Super Orion from a Single Summon Ticket an Hour ago after watching this vid later than that, but I was trying to get Mandricardo. I'll count my blessings and wait till he's Available in the FP summons.
Just roll for this guy, you won't know what a challenge quest is anymore.

He is by far and large the best Archer in the game. He puts Gil and ishtar to shame and is definitely worth summoning, he's the Grand Archer for a reason. I wish all the luck in the world to those who want to summon him and hope you get him 1 ticket/single. I will keep all of you in my GOTCHA summoning ritual dance, so that all my bask in his glory.

Oh, dear... :| To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about this new schedule.
I mean, sure, I love the idea of us being able to get Mandricardo, Europa and Orion early, but I was hoping we could get some more SQs with the Christmas Event first. Nobody I'm wishing to roll for in that Banner, so I was hoping to "restock" there, considering I'm currently only at 160 SQs and I doubt I'll increase by much more once Atlantis hits NA. :\
But as for your Review, I must say it was eye-opening. :)
I was already aware of Super Orion's extremely absurd Crit gamestyle, but I had *no idea* how good it was until you actually dellved in deep on his stats and what makes him so good.
All I can is that I was never happier to know this guy shares a Banner with the one I'm aiming for, Europa. Because that means that, while I try to summon for best Greek mom, I might also have a decent enough chance to pull this big bear. All while having 3* Mandricardo lowkey available on the back. Banner 1 of Atlantis might damn well be the last great Banner this year where I throw everything I have at it! _(which is why I was hoping it would happen _*_after_*_ Christmas 5)_
Thanks for this! I've been looking forward to him for a while now. I have a nice account, but 2 things I'm still lacking are a good single target Archer or Berserker. (I did somehow roll an Archer of Inferno last week while using some tickets to get Anastasia. I don't think that will dissuade me from my plan.)
He also seems like he's very NP1 friendly, which is great for a DPS. Fingers crossed. He and Castoria are the only servants on my radar for the next year almost. (I hope I'm not forgetting anyone.)

Only got Orion from missing every saints quartz pull bleeding me dry of 300 scraping all the silver craft cards together to get enough mana prisms to buy 5 summon tickets just to get him with my last pull. The miraculous ticket
I have been saving for months to get him, it’s not like I'm expecting to get him but I won't mind of I do.
My issue with SOrion is that what sets him apart is... a skillset that deals absurd damage under the best conditions for ONE turn. The game largely moved away from that being great when Break Bars were introduced. Now it's true that he doesn't just stop there, given that his NP gives him more Crits than just one turn, but I don't think it's enough to compensate for losing a damaging NP, because Crits are by their nature unreliable. (Of course, you can build a team around that, usually with Summer BB, but if you need another specific Limited SSR Servant for that, it's not a very good indicator of his quality.)
But the absurd damage largely never matters because if I'm facing 300k Break Bars or something, I can break that in one turn without him. Probably EASIER, because there's no need to fish for the Crits.
This makes him feel more like an unnecessary flex than anything. Is he good? Sure, yeah, but he deals numbers far higher than you actually need. That puts a cap on how much it matters.
All of that was assuming a team, of course, and you can say that solos is where he truly excels. And you know, that's fair. But that alone, I feel isn't enough for an S, he has competition on that front, from the likes of the Emperor, who also happens to have a Crit based gameplan, but much more defensively oriented. But he also brings defensive taunt utility into team comps. (Actually having checked though, you DID give Shi Huang Di an S, so... consistency?) Overall, I'd say he's like an A+. While he has a lot of good going for him, I feel like that good is not necessary in the game currently, so having a different good Archer largely invalidates the need to have him.
Yeah, as much as I love Super Orion, he is a 1-turn killing machine and that's it, which is why Van Gogh, when she comes next year in NA, is a superior crit servant as she can do the same stuff but for 3 turns or more and also share the fun with others (for some truly insane things with double Van Gogh shenanigans), especially if those others are foreigners... but not only (we're starting to get more servants with that passive, so far summer BB, Okita J. Souji and Ranmaru X, all ready to become crit monsters under Van Gogh).
50% atk buff (NP + skill) for 3 turns, comically easy to spam NP, completely invalidating the issue with star gen thanks to the star engine it provides combined with even the tiniest bit of stars from another source (like his own second skill, or just a Hans lmao). The nonsensically low cool downs on his skills also ensure that face card RNG isn’t an issue as you’ll have his skills back up soon enough anyway. Will you get the +1m crit numbers all the time? But for my money, if you have to pick just one crit god, I think Van Gogh offers more bang (because of double Van Gogh) while you can grab a support Super Orion and you won't lose any of his functionality.
Even cooldown lowering shenanigans you can still do later on (when Vitch comes out in NA) with just that support Super Orion.
Meanwhile you need your own Van Gogh for double Van Gogh.
All that being said, those two are far enough apart that what I said might not even matter and you can just get both, haha, both works too.

I have a question regarding CC's for him. You mentioned the crit damage CC's for his buster cards but which ones do you recommend for his arts and quick card.
I currently have the Santa Alter Card that gives 4 stars on his quick. And the Merlin one that gives 10% np on his arts every once in a while

Got him after 1061 sqs and 35 tickets. Along the way I got Marie to NP5, Nito to NP4, Chiyome and Mary Read to NP7, a wild Stheno, an NP6 Banana, and enough Kaleidoscopes to MLB my whole frontline. My Wallet-kun has just been admitted to the ICU. Good thing I don't care about Saber Astolfo, hahaha... That said, since I have neither Gil nor (non-Space) Ishtar, I guess that means I'm set for Archers. This guy's got really BIG CHUNGUS.

@@zulhafiqbinmohdazrol4007 NP1. The only other comparable expense I've made was when Lartoria first came out. I got Tristan to NP5 before even one of her showed up. Can't remember what other SRs I pulled, if any. It's funny because this 10 inch Goodsmile figure of her that I bought ended up being cheaper lol.
I wish command codes could be duplicated. They matter a lot on crit servants but I can only really focus on bringing out the potential of one servant.
