    IMPORTANT NOTE: I forgot to mention that some planetary buildings also increase your research for civilian/military too! Also Trade Ports are important to help augment your resource production. You can allocate what you trade from trade ports to boost credit, metal or crystal income!

    Hey that's a good bit of tips man. Can you please do a video on Garrisons?
    This is what I have gathered so far:
    First off, the TEC Garrisons are Super Overpowered. Second, its free ships, that attack every single enemy boarder at the same time. Its awesome.
    The Trade Convoy Upgrades have a small fleet of ships that travel with your Traders. They actually do make a difference and protect the ships. But that's just the tip of what I'm talking about.
    Garrisons: Its a Planet upgrade! Added in the slot on the left. There are multiple upgrades regarding the Garrisons. Many people I have seen just think that its a few ships protecting your planet. Wrong! Its an endless horde of ships that attack your enemies so much they wont attack you because they have to play defense against you.
    You need a ship factory in the planets orbit, or a space station with construction. If you have Garrison upgrade on the planet, those ship builders will actually build ships that defend your planet. Its not really obvious, but if you right-click the upgrade you can set that garrison to 3 different settings.
    Hold - Protect this planet
    Defense - Protect all planets that this planet touches, but only your territory.
    Attack - Just send what you got, to every planet we don't control.
    The Attack command can literally slow your computer. Just wave after wave of ships attacking your enemies. Its a lot. TEC Late game if done right can be horrifying. Its amazing.
    I pretty much just put Garrisons on every single planet with a space station with remote construction. Add more factories big and small to increase the build rate. It makes attacking me a nightmare, even the computer cant reach my planets because they are defending against the TEC onslaught. I haven't seen anyone talk about this in detail, and its such a huge mechanic to the game. I haven't tried it with the other races yet, but I imagine they might have something similar but not as good.

      Primacy Insurgents are better, once they start spawning in AI systems they stop attacking because they will keep redirecting their fleets towards planets that are being attacked. They absolutely cripple the AI, you just need to put up with the fleet is now trapped by a phase jump inhibitor alert every 5 seconds.

      The AI is pretty bad at handling it, but against a player it's an endless source of free xp for capitals for much of the game since getting to cruiser garrisons take a long while unless the player rushes mil tech at the expense of a snowballing TEC economy. If you have a starbase in the system they send to then it's CONSTANTLY draining the garrison reserve as fast as they make it, as well as being a dangerous launch point into the garrisoned system. The big rush attack of a garrison is strongest when it's had time to build up to a full supply value.
      I kinda wish everyone had them still. I liked the little skirmishes that happened everywhere and simplified micro.
      Overall I like how every faction has some more or less busted overpowered garbage. Games can get crazy.

      @jergensherbit756 i agree. Its the rebellion mechanic from the first game.

    You must get Focused Exploration early because it gives you 4 scout ships that typically will find all the minor factions. Early game you never have enough metal or crystal so having the option to buy it is invaluable. Getting all the first tier stuff is pretty easy. You can also use the explore planet tab to pick up exotics to make capital ships early.

    I never build orbital mining as Tec. The logistics cost of the Mines makes it not worth it, and my surface mining and tradeships keep me flush with raw materials

      @ShadowcoastGaming  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Interesting, I've found I've had to build mines to keep my fleets at max supply power and fuel my exotic production!

      Trade port is 2 logi for 2 trade goods.
      2 mines is 2 logi for 0.9 resource base.
      Each trade good is 1 resource base.
      That makes trade 2x+ more efficient per logi slot.

      @@JasonWolfeYT I agree trade ports are important but there are only so many you can make before you fall off efficiency???

      Depends on how many mines are in the gravel well. Since planet items can make them super strong if theres alot.

    I’m new to this game I tried advent wrath first but they seem really weak. I tried TEC enclave and they feel very strong. What are the best factions and capital ships in the game?

    • @ShadowcoastGaming
      @ShadowcoastGaming  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I need more time with the other two factions (I just like the human/TEC "lore" and mindset) but I wouldn't say there is an overall "best" since there are different and nuanced playstyles. For example, Advent can be impossible to beat by mid-game if you get on a role and focus more heavily on some of the military research.
      I need to play a lot more but overall I think TEC is the "easiest" since things work like you'd expect. Advent (second most I've played) feels like there are definitely more specific paths to take which I need to figure out.
      I normally set difficult to Hard (which I view as the middle difficulty) and then move up once I get better for context.
      Welcome your thoughts and let me know what you think after playing some more!

    Losing mines is a lot better than losing a trade port, a destroyed trade port is a huge chunk of your economy. Mines are better on asteroids trade ports are better on planets
