That was... surprisingly well done. Short and very informative. Really good job, you've earned a Sub. On the topic about choosing weapon systems - missiles and/or drones are just much more easy for newer players to understand and get used to. Especially drones, since unless you constantly lose them, you don't have to resupply ammo, making the logistics easier. So deffo a solid choice if you're looking into PVE combat. Missiles/Drones also provide the ability to easily switch dmg types, which allow them to reasonably well deal with all types of rats. Gunships I find are generally limited to either certain rats, or certain sites, despite them offering much faster clear times for the sites they are suitable for. With the exception being Projecile turrets - swappable dmg types allow more flexibility, but they generally fall behind Hybrids and Lasers in raw dmg output. Gunships do require more attention to dmg application, whether with fitting or piloting, making them ill-suited for beginners imo though. But with practice, they can easily outdo missile/drone boats due to instant dmg application and, with certain ships/fits, better raw DPS. Good news is - you can use SOCT ship line to check out and practice with various weapon systems, to find the one you're most comfortable with. Great way for Alphas to get a glimpse of what's what, before fully committing behind a single choice. Best part - the hulls are cheap, and don't require any training apart from weapon/tank systems to get into.
@@markushamann3542 Sentries only really have one benefit - range. Their actual DPS and application is... lackluster at best. Heavies will outperform sentries against BC and BS sized rats, despite the travel time, thanks to their raw DPS. And you pretty much already explained the tracking issue against smaller targets... That said - they certainly have plenty of uses as sniping platforms. The ability to sit at a safe range, without any pressure to your tank, often far outweighs raw DMG potential. Not quite as efficient as Sig tanking with Heavies, but for sites with webbing towers or a swarm of well applying enemies - Sentries can be the only valid option for a drone boat. And for BS that can't sig tank at all - sitting at range can be the only choice as well. As for coupling sentries with turrets - I wouldn't bother, unless the Hull has bonuses for both. Like Rattle, Domi navy... Else you're just getting some extra lackluster DPS, when instead you could've focused more on application or projection, which would've helped more. On the flip side - using sentries alongside your Turrets is fine, but I wouldn't pick them over other drone options, especially if you have to work with a limited drone bay of a gunship. Another issue with sentries, that normal drones don't have - very little flexibility in engagement ranges, depending on sentry choice. Gardes struggle especially, since despite being the best tracking sentries, they actually struggle tracking stuff within their optimal range, lose DPS due to falloff, and overall have very limited effective range. Using them means basically leaving unused DPS, whereas using less optimal dmg type of, say, Curator, would've netted better results, despite not shooting at a resist hole. Basically, you're likely to benefit more from picking Sentries based on their range, rather than for their dmg type. Sure, the issue can be remedied with an omnidirectional tracking computer or two, but that's basically sacrificing mid slots to make something suboptimal work, rather than to improve an already good setup. In short - I'm personally not really a fan of sentries. Sure, I used them heavily in the past, and still do for specific applications, but as far as drones go - they are far from my first pick. With notable exceptions...
Man that was a good video. Very easy to understand, described how all the mechanics worked perfectly and in a simple way. Very well done! Gila for Marine Sgt would be awesome!!! Keep the videos coming man!
Excellent graphics. Explaining the combat mechanics in EVE is difficult and you've done it in a visual way that is clear and concise. This is a real one stop shop of a video for this topic. Great work.

I like this a lot just coming back to eve wanting to get into pvp more. Would love to see a fitting how to for neuts in your system and how to give yourself the best odds of countering them
This video was quite dense with info, I even learned a couple new strategies for pvp, something that I didn’t think I could in a ratting guide. This video has earned my sub. (While I’m here, might as well ask for a gila for jaak blank)
That’s soooooo awesome!!!! I was trying to find a vid for ded sites with the Praxis (o.0)u gave me last time😅😅😅. It was rlly good and I am still trying to grind to omega with different ratting
Sure!!! I hv some questions with ded sites. What’s the cheapest yet quickest way to grind 10/10s? What’s the profit for 10/10 and time for it? Where can I find them and what’s a escalation Is a grabber and smart bombs praxis work??😊
@@CalebLam-z1d Hey! 10/10 DED sites are usually found in null sec space, either through cosmic signatures or escalations from other combat sites. However, I wouldn’t rush into them just yet. These sites are extremely deadly, and to successfully run a 10/10 site, you'll need strong skills, both in terms of skill points (SP) and ship fitting. Some 10/10 sites can even spawn NPC capital ships like Dreadnoughts or Carriers, which are nearly impossible to kill without your own capital ship or a well-coordinated fleet. These NPCs have massive health and deal significant damage, making them very challenging. Each 10/10 site varies in difficulty depending on the faction (Serpentis, Guristas, Sansha, etc.), which affects which ships and resistances work best. You'll also need to tailor your ship's fit to handle the damage types those factions deal. As for profit, these sites can be highly rewarding, with faction modules and blueprints potentially worth a lot, though they can take a while to clear-anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour depending on your setup. I’ll be working on a guide in the future to cover 10/10 sites in more detail, so stay tuned for that!

@@vanapo13 The giveaway will be at the end of November because im away for work atm. For lazers I have very few experience in them. I would recommend to get the Legion and play around with the Naga and abaddon a bit. My advice may be bad on lazer so if you can hear aroynd from other pilots using lazers.
For PVE the Oracle is not a good fit for new players. The laser line would be Punisher Omen Harbinger and Apocalypse. The Abaddon looks great but you need a lot of skills otherwise it runs in to cap problems and why the Apocalypse is not immune to such problems it has better cap.
Very nice and compact video! I learned much from this. @@nemonian2938 you are very welcome 😁 The important thing is to find which type of content you enjoy the most then pick a ship best suited for that content.
