I love how this song is so freaking creepy, but still upbeat. Love the scenery in this level. The night sky with the moon glaring gloomily over the deserted mansion gets me every time
the theme is so skary.... thats why i like it and the level it selfe was kreapy its the best (in my oppinion) banjo-kazooie level .................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. kkkkkkrrrrrrreeeeeeeaaaaaaaappppppyyyyyyyyyy
.. this brings back so much memories. I remember when I thought only needed 2 puzzle pieces to unlock Click Clock Wood, when in reality, I needed to fill up the whole puzzle, not two pieces. My dad spent all night trying to get jiggies for me to complete it so I can get to that level :/ Suddenly I realize how my parents shaped me to be who I am, and how a classic game like this made me expand my vast imagination.. They say video games do nothing. I disagree. They can bring people together
+Jason Snead this level scared me cause of the goblins, yeah. its like, "ITS CHASING MEEEEEEEE" and id always get stuck and cringe for the moment it attacks slowly creeping at me. and the pumpkins that sound like they are saying "fff uuuuu" xD
I always loved this level as a child just by seeing the horror side of it but i mostly loved because of the enemies that can only get killed with the gold feather(except for the graveyard enemies) wish that every child play this game
When I hear this I can clearly picture myself wandering in the church, basements and in that labyrint in mad monster's mansion. Magical music :). I still have the same file I started with in 1998.
1:59 - 2:10 is just flat out amazing. I love that part of this song. That part used to scare the crap out of me as a kid, though. Mainly from 1:44 - 1:59 causing so much suspense, and then at 1:59 it just seems like all hell is going to break loose.
@MarioBros4000 Because they're both made by Rare? Also, apparently Fugi Forest in DK64 apparently was originally a BK track for a level that got cut because of a tight deadline.
The commercials didn't help either. It gave us a lot of hype and high expectations for the game. With the wait, and the promises of an amazing looking game, perfect to be the next sequel of the series. Instead, we got nuts and bolts. Just like you said, it wasnt the game we expected, or wanted as die hard B&K fans.
You know what? Do you know how you enter from the "lava lobby" into the haunted area, where there is the Mad Monster Mansion world? My brother and I entered their, froze, and whispered in terror to each other to turn back and never enter there again! Now that I think of it it was hilarious!
I hope you mean an increase in music quality as well. I want a combined Banjo Kazooie/Tooie with updated graphics and music, as well as the ability to use Tooie abilities in Kazooie, which was the original purpose of Stop and Swop.
@GalumirNL exactly, just like the legend of zelda remake, and this time it should include banjo tooie as an alternate option in the menu when you finish the game :D
@Five11111Ones Nothing wrong with that. I tend to have videogame music on my MP3 quite a bit these days. And the occasional Banjo Kazooie tune on there too.
the ghosts remind me of ghosts from casper, lol.this place scared me shitless as a kid,but later you notice, the mosters arent even scary, just really weird
Thanks for uplaoding all these tunes. This game is one of the best ever and the music from games like Banjo Kazooie and Ocarina of Time make me smile no matter what.
Man I remember when I was little, I thought that getting flushed into Loggo lead you to the Engine Room of RBB. Ah...childhood ignorance...what a bliss ~ I like MMM though, it's cool. I used to be scared going into stage entry cause of that damn RIP stone thing that tries to kill you D: That Ouija Board is also scary as hell, I didn't realise back then what Ouja's were...
@hockeybuck23 Yes, they are. Halo's sort of cool but GTA is nothing but amoral-crap where you have sex and mindlessly blow up innocent-people for no-reason, I am generally open to violence, but even Grand Theft Auto is pushing it for me(Disgusting-game)
''But, I think the old 64 bit graphics are part of what gave the games their charm. Having "too good" graphics kind of takes away from the mystery of the environment, I've found for myself.'' Agreed. Look at Conker's bad Fur day.
Heh, me too :p I remember the lava pit area right before you got to the entrance of this level scared me because if you fell off those narrow pathways you'd die, and I made the connection that it was Grunty's stomach, which scared me even more X(
@Jockoishh I'm jealous you had parents who'd watch you play. My parents never did that with me. I'm definitely gonna do that with my kids. I'll make sure they play the games I grew up with too
This level doesn't really scare me. XD I guess "scary" levels don't scare me... I found the dystopia of Rusty Bucket Bay and the size of Click Clock Wood a little frightening, though.
@RaxusCarnelli fuckin' sweet dude. if MMM was harder than RBB then i sould fly through RBB. Mad Monster Mansion was too easy for me, i am gonna do RBB today
Is this about the XboxOne? I don't think it's Microsoft fault that we don't get Super Mario and Banjo Kazooie etc.. That would be rare and nintendos fault for not allowing their games to be launched on PC? Ah I remember waking up on Christmas day, me and my brothers new.. just new it was it... the smell, the weight.. aummmmmm, (bows) ennnn sixtyyy fourrrr, aummmmmm. How i miss you goldeneye, may you dostovei long and klobber
I need to get my hands on an N64 when I have the funds. I've been watching so many "Let's Play" Banjo Kazooie videos these days. I'm now craving to play the game again. I haven't played it since I was eleven or twelve. I only got up to this level in the game... well, my sister and my neighbor did most of the work seeing as I got the game when it first came out (I was only eight or nine then and not the best gamer back then).
@Jockoishh Parents or no I couldn't play this level at all, it scared me to death as a child as did the haunted castle place on Donkey Kong 64. I however ended up beating the final boss and the prior quiz for my cousin Eric so long ago because unlike me he was a "go straight to the end" kind of player and missed all of Grunty's sister's and the cauldron's answers to the question, he and I although distant now still reminisce about that day...over 10 years ago now....
i imagine myself sneaking around the woods me and my friend.we're lost and she says shes scared. she asked if i can hold her.i accept her offer with a smile ,Then suddenly a ghost pops up.we run away.then a guy with a gun shoots all the ghosts.me and my best friend kiss romanticly, well we used to be best friends, now we are boyfriend and girl friend, and that is what i think of whenever i hear this song.
Didn't you just LOVE getting flushed down the used toilet as a pumpkin? And hearing the "music" composed of mostly fart sounds? HAHAHAHAHA, terrible! But I still liked this level, nice to take a look at Grunty's old "neighborhood". By the way, never come to this level without a full stock of Gold feathers, they're the only way to kill the ghosts, the whip-like creatures, and permanently kill the pesky skeletons!
Sorry, I don't remember saying anything about increasing quality, musics or graphics, so I don't know what you were responding to. But I can tell that there was no "original purpose " of Stop n Swop. It was a discarded idea from the original BK and was only put into BT because hackers discovered something they technically shouldn't have in BK, and Rare wanted to satisfy people's curiousity. They didn't though.
...I'm not really sure what that has to do with what I said. But I don't really care about graphics. I did back in the Gamecube PS2 days but there really hasn't been a huge jump or evolution in graphics since then so I don't really pay attention. But, I think the old 64 bit graphics are part of what gave the games their charm. Having "too good" graphics kind of takes away from the mystery of the environment, I've found for myself.
I usually think this kind of comment is overexaggerated, but this one I totally agree with. If Microsoft is going to just delegate Rare to wasting their talent on making crappy Kinect games, they're better off letting Nintendo buy the company again, or at the very least should try and get as much of the original team as possible back together.
lol L.O.G. totally seemed like a reference to Microsoft, at the very beginning he tells them that "No one likes collecting games anymore." or something along those lines and kazooie (or banjo) reply with "Says who?" (again something along those lines) and L.O.G. says something along the lines of "Because he's the lord of games." oh Rareware... we all feel your pain =(
If they had made it right after the other two it would have been much much better received. The problem was that fans had waited almost 10 years for another BK game which is known for the platforming. Imagine if Naughty dog made another Jak & Daxter game and was a farming simulator, no matter how good that game would be, the fans would dislike it.
@aboutblanksucks No I don't agree, there are lots of good games out there today. Just because RARE doesn't make good games anyone doesn't mean ALL games suck. Just because the Halo series is overhyped, doesn't mean no good games are made. Go play Deadly Premonition, if you can overlook the flaws of that game, you will find a very interesting game.
Hehe, something similar happened with me. I have this habit of going first person upon entering a new course to check things out and see where I should go first. So I enter this one, see around with the eerie music in the bg and at 1:15 I get this creepy view of the house with the full moon on top of it.
Yeh, if you have bad sound on your TV it does sound like it's saying 'fuck youuuu'. Lawls. This level was...somewhat frustrating, and it made me jump when the graves came out of NOWHERE and started running after me. But that's scarier at the entrance in Gruntilda's Lair. I love this level's music, one of the best in the game.
I love how this song is so freaking creepy, but still upbeat.
Love the scenery in this level. The night sky with the moon glaring gloomily over the deserted mansion gets me every time
The October of Banjo-Kazooie.
It's that time of year again. =D
the theme is so skary....
thats why i like it
and the level it selfe was kreapy
its the best (in my oppinion) banjo-kazooie level

This place used to give me nightmares. Especially those green goblin things.
+lincoln pepper i mean flower pots.
Jason Snead Tee-hee's!
Anyone else a bit sad to not hear Bottles chiming in to tell you there were new moves to learn??
I always have been scared of the maze when I was a kid! It always gets me!
I blast out of speakers every holloween. Lots of kids love it. And none know it's from an epic game! wish they played this when I was young.
The best theme of all banjo Kazooie and banjo tooie ♥♥
Dude this guy is a really good composer. Hearing this high is mind blowing. For a video game is insanely good fun.
I still have the same file I started with in 1998.
just for the hell of it, thumb's down this comment too
1:59 - 2:10 is just flat out amazing. I love that part of this song. That part used to scare the crap out of me as a kid, though. Mainly from 1:44 - 1:59 causing so much suspense, and then at 1:59 it just seems like all hell is going to break loose.
THAAaaaaaAAAAnk YOOooooUUuu....for uploading this!
@MarioBros4000
Because they're both made by Rare?
Also, apparently Fugi Forest in DK64 apparently was originally a BK track for a level that got cut because of a tight deadline.
Best theme for the evil science teacher
The Perfect map to play on Halloween!
rare's not making the game
As long as Grant Kirkhope works on the music, I can assure you the music will be good.
The commercials didn't help either. It gave us a lot of hype and high expectations for the game. Wasn't rare bought by microsoft though?
yes
Never played the game, but I have heard it was a decent game. Would have definitely received a better reputation if it wasn't a B&K game.
That Game From Mad Monster Mansion Is very scary, I was very scared when I play the game from Mad Monster on Banjo Kazooie!
@bensonmunch geez i was 5 when I played and didnt scared me -.-
Thanks for uplaoding all these tunes. This game is one of the best ever and the music from games like Banjo Kazooie and Ocarina of Time make me smile no matter what.

Not nearly as creepy as Creepy-Castle from DK64!
Which I think is a little more appropriate for a kids game.
This level doesn't really scare me. XD I guess "scary" levels don't scare me... I found the dystopia of Rusty Bucket Bay and the size of Click Clock Wood a little frightening, though.
Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Mad Monster Mansion. I am your host...your ghost host...
@RaxusCarnelli fuckin' sweet dude. if MMM was harder than RBB then i sould fly through RBB. Mad Monster Mansion was too easy for me, i am gonna do RBB today
0:01 : we see a tombstone "here lies banjo and kazooie, murdered by Microsoft"
0:14: banjo and kazooie rise from the dead and begins to hunt microsoft
@aaaaanthonyyyyyy I agree completely. Nintendo selling Rare was the biggest mistake they've ever made.
That, and the "That's So Raven - the videogame"
this was my favorite level as a child, only becouse it was ghost's that stuff in it
ahhhh good times.scary as hell as a kid tho.and the loggo jiggy,ABSOLUTLY DISGUSTING
I just got an n64 this past spring, but I still have to rely on Project64 if I want to play this game because I don't own it for n64 yet.
@bazla123 I can't believe you went down there! Wash your hands now, filthy bear!
Big oak door is very tough. Stupid bear's not fast enough!
brrr i have with 10 years so much fear of this music but later with 11 i loved this music and the map and loved me to fear myself ;)
to be honest, this song wasnt all that scary, but back when i was 10, i was too afraid to move off the platform and into the level XD
What? I guess I replied to the wrong comment... Whoops!
This level freaked me out, the ghosts gave me nightmares. REMEMBER THE FATASS GHOST WHO NEVER GOT OFF THE TABLE!? LOL XD
@FuyuKanashimi I believe the guy who composed the Banjo Kazooie music (Grant Kirkhope) here also composed Goldeneye.
this is my favorite level music but my favorite stageis click clock woods
@Jockoishh nope because i don't think parents wants to sit with their kids shooting other human beings (cod)
I was so creeped out by it I never really went in there. till I found it was more silly then anything else lol
If you had to play one game for the rest of your life which would it be - Banjo Kazooie or Super Mario 64?
5 people would rather play boring/mindless Grand Theft Auto than real-classics that make you have to think
@chaos90titan LOL SAME HERE! when i was little, EVERYTHING about this game scared the fuck out of me!! lol!
I heard that too, but apparently they are supposed to say "Thaaaaank yoooouuu" in a very very blurry way :P
The ghost in the basement used to scare me. lol
One of my favorite levels.
(despite childhood fear XD)
whenever it's Halloween, this music is in my head
@bensonmunch ikr i got nightmares for 4 months when i was 9 and i avoided mad monster mansion xD
when i first played this game i heard the pots say fuck you and thats were i learned the f-word xD
The song: Good
The level: Worst level of the series. (seriously, I hated MMM, and I still do)
@tetradd unfortunately your cartidges will likely have degraded beyond usability by then.
I'm definitely playing this over the speakers for my Halloween party this year
Next Halloween, I'm busting my speakers with this theme because I am that hard core ;).
Who knows, it might, might not. RARE's weird. It's most likely just coincidence though.
I was 4 when i played it in 2000 and hell i got scared with the ghosts and clanker, XP
Check out my rendition of Motzhand from Mad Monster Mansion!!
Today I've played this song on the piano around 20 times XD
every game needs a creepy level. conker and banjo had the best scary ones lol
happy halloween everyone, and i must say this song is perfect for halloween!
@TheSmashinPumpkins err... yeah, i already 100%'ed it. it wasn't too hard :P
@bensonmunch lawl taht exactly like my situation..... ah good ol' memories
this place used to scare the shit out of me when i was a little kid...
@bl4ckw1ngz64
Creepy Castle. This song has an energetic tune to it.
My guess is that they're just vintage dates. What else could they be?
@antoniogregoire78 It also sounds like Banjo Tooie
I love when you throw an egg into the flowerpot holder and sounds a scary voice saying "thaaaaank yoooouu"
is it me or does the thing behind the goast looking at me
> <
-
So blasting this through my speakers next halloween! HARDCORE!!!!
Great music! But I HATED being a damn pumpkin in this level! >_
Somebody hasn't heard of emulators :)
@IkesHardLemonade212 You mentioned Ripper, that's what he says.
@dumbwakeup U hav forgotten the diving in the loo as pumkin xD

@Doxiepack09 yes, Banjo is actually too fast.
