Hey dude I have a town car that suddenly became difficult to steer. I replaced the power steering pump and steering linkage, but it is still stiff.. This leads me to either ball joints or the rack. Do you have any idea which it maybe?

The youtube channel name: Mr.CarMikal The video: Changing the Crown Victoria rack and pinion In said video, at approx. 8 mins. & 20 secs., Mr.CarMikal removes the two mounting bolts (pins) that hold the rack to the chassis. My question: Do you know if it is absolutely necessary to remove those two bolts in order to get the rack out? *Help please.* Thank You.

so i dont have to take the nut all the way off for the tie rods? i have it at the top and not sure what to use to get it off
Yes you have to take it all the way off
