I saw a few videos and noticed that some of these aftermarket (like the one you got) intakes uses screws. After a little research, I found an Autotecnica FD1413042 that used all OEM bolts. It did come with two alternator brackets so did have to use one. It also came with a small adapter plastic bracket I had to use on the vacuum accumulator next to the throttle Body. The car has been running great with this intake and even appears to have more power.

The runners on the aftermarket intake don't look anything like the Ford OEM intake that came off and everything I've read says the aftermarket ones aren't the performance improved (PI) design. If it was just a leaky intake manifold gasket, couldn't you just install a new gasket set on the original Ford intake?

All this for a 1/2" piece of poorly designed super thin plastic wall around a hot water port. smh. Plus you have to remove the whole thing just to get access to the broken area. The rest of the plastic is going to be decaying anyway by the time this gives out.

The Dorman will loose HP, but under 3500 RPM you actually gain torque compared to the Ford PI intake. I have an 06 Town Car and even getting on the highway I do not go past 3500. LMR did a dyno test on a Mustang between the two intakes that is on TH-cam.
