    I used clean slate, 4 gallons of water, HALF of the 16 fl oz bottle ( more than necessary ) YET i still wasn't able to remove old wax after going over twice with a wash mit.
    Idk if you guys delete comments of honest users of your product but PLEASE STOP IF YOU DO.

    Clean slate did not work for me. Half a 16fl oz bottle, 4 - 4.5 gallons of water, mixed, washed twice with a microfiber mit. Still didnt remove the old wax.

    Your clay luber and polishing pad conditioner contain a significant amonut of wax (based on the MSDS). However, what I have learned from other tutorials is that never use products containing wax during paint prep since we want to expose the virgin clear coat to apply the ceramic coating. Are your clay luber and pad conditioner not designed for this purpose?

    Hello, I have a Silverado crew cab, just to give you an idea how big, how much of clean slate car wash should I use in a 5 gallon bucket to really get all the dirt and waxes and or sealants off. Just don't want to waste product. Jaime

    Wife’s car is 3 weeks old, no scratches but it does have contaminants. Can I get away with just Claybar then surface prep then ceramic coating? Or do I still need to polish?

      Absolutely, that is totally fine!

      @@ChemicalGuys excellent, I have same question, brand new car and I dont want to polish the clear coat off a new car. So just to clarify please process?:, wash car, then use clean slate, then use clay bar, then use ceramic coat, and preferably do 2 ceramic coats?

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! As long as the surface is thoroughly cleaned/decontaminated you can apply ceramic coatings right away but for a flawless finish it may be necessary to polish the vehicle.

    Clean slate aka Obsessed garage’s Decontamination soap. At least hopefully it is cause I haven’t used anything as good as it/old citrus orange for a prep wash.

    For the ceramic coating is it swirl remover Amd then polish Amd then ceramic coating ?

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jose! That's correct, remove the heavy swirls and scratches then refine with a polish before applying coatings.

      Hi Paul! Clay extracts foreign contaminants from the clear coat, glass, and other shiny surfaces.

    Can I just wash, dry, use Synthetic Quick Detailer and then polish the car before applying the coating? The paint is 1 year old.
    Or do you think it would be good without the Quick Detailer?

    I've got a brand new BMW black SUV with very few swirls or scratches. I want to take as little of the clear as possible but would I need a claybar on a new vehicle if I did an iron remover? And my plan is to use a primer polish since it's not very abrasive. But wonder if I used a 5050 pad if there's enough abrasives in the primer to take those swirls out.

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jimmy! It would still be best to use a Light Clay Bar and Clay Luber before polishing.

    Is it real that ceramic coating needs sanding to remove?

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey ALEXANDERCRETA1! Ceramic coatings harden on the surface of the paint and the only way to remove it is by polishing or waiting for the coating to degrade. It shouldn't require sanding but rather machine polishing with a compound. - Happy detailing!

      Chemical Guys i was thinking that
      A) ceramic coat is very hard needs infrared heat same exact progress like clear coat to cure, especially H9 ceramic coat that is very hard (H10 is diamonds harder on moh scale) and much harder mayde twice than clear coat,how it can be remove with only by polish when clear coat you can remove only with sanding or paint striper chemicals,B) scratches on ceramic coating can not be removed by polish or any compounds you need to wet sanding and reapply ceramic coat that far i just know, just wandering...Thanks..

    Do I need to apply wipeout before and after polishing or just after? I was thinking before polish too because it would remove anything from clay bar step, but is it really necessary to use it before polish?

    • @jimmyallen3850

      U wash it and don't worry about drying it. I wouldn't use an IPA before clay. But that's me. I see why u would but it's up to you. Then clay it. After clay you def want to do it. And also after polishing

    I am 2nd owner of a 2014 Mustang and it is gray silver so swirl marks don't show as much...but I know they are there. I also have some deeper scratches from previous owner. I bought some products from Chemical Guys and wondered if a recommendation on which to use 1st to get deeper scratches and can a all-in-one remove swirl marks?
