I like your philodendrons. You are an expert in plants. You have a golden touch.

I have had my plant for about 9 months and I love it!! It’s fast growing in my home. It is pulled back slightly in a southern window ( northeast,US) receiving bright light. I have it on a moss pole which it loves. I find the mature leaves and rough red petioles beautiful. In the plant world where variegated plants are all the rage, I find the green form to be like the ‘little black dress’ of house plants. It’s elegant in its simplicity and still manages to turn heads.

If your plant has rough red petioles, it might actually be a florida green - a hybrid of the pedatum and the squamiferum. The pedatum has smooth, usually green petioles - the rough red petiole trait is inherited from the red bristles of the squamiferum

I'm so happy I have a plant rescue near me where all plants are €1. I picked up some medium sized Pedatum and Verrucosum and can't believe how expensive they normally are. Do these need some support to climb up on or will they do fine freestanding?

My plant looks exactly the same as yours and just came with a "philodendron" label. It is in a tiny pot on an east window sill, very cold now in mid-November, and is one of my fastest growing plants even with the dark, short winter days. Actually, only my syngonium, Imperial Green philo, and pedatum are actively growing presently. Funny how plants can grow so differently in various locations. Surprising.

Hi Memo! Thanks for another interesting video - I've been following your plant review series for quite a while and it's always interesting to hear about your experiences. A few months ago I've accidently gotten a Philodendron Glad Hands (when was looking to buy something else entirely ^^) and it's still too small to really show it's leaves so I wanted to ask if you know that "version" of the pedatum - is it just a fancy name? From what I've seen online, maybe it's leaves grow a little thinner? I haven't ever seen a Glad Hands in it's mature form and mine still has a long away to go, so I thought maybe you've heard something somewhere :) P.S.: I quite like the "new" version of the cuts between your topics, but as a headphone user, I've noticed that the music can be quite loud compared to the volume of your voice, which can be a little startling. Just something I've noticed :) Stay safe and greetings from Germany!

Hey there, first thanks for the tip on the music, I will see about toning it down ☺️☺️☺️☺️
But yeah glad hands was the version I was trying to remember, as far as I aware it might have been a pedatum that grew differently. A pole or a plank will hopefully mean the leaves mature faster 🌿💚

I bought it from a gardencenter, on a moospole 1,5m high, for around 50€ (germany) (42£).
It grows like a weed. I am cutting it all the time and the stems are so thick. Even the fresh ones. I dont even have it for a year. I have already two more plants and sold sooo many cutting. It doesnt stop 😅
It is in soil (a very airy junglefloor mix, perlite, bark, diatomaceous earth, worm castings, ... and more). Its in a greenhouse, under shade.
Is this also the philodendron frorida green, or is that something else?

I bought one of these a few weeks ago, 8” pot quirky sideways growing rootbound but healthy. I’m still not sure if it’s this or the other plant that is confused with it. Mine is not particularly young, and the oldest leaves have 3 lobes, they don’t look like yours.

I received 2 cuttings a few months back. One cutting has thrived and the other has not rooted yet. They are easy and beautiful. They are more understated but I love that about them. 😊

That is kinda on par for them, I found that with 2 cutting from my mother plant last year, some root fast some take their time 😅

Hi Memo!! I wanted a Squami an got a Squami X with Pedatium. So it’s a Pedatium with red stems. Really not my fav, considering it wasn’t what I was after. 💚

It's on the slower growing end of the scale for me, two new leaves this summer but I'm pretty far North and it hasn't been given much feed. Mine also came from Eastern Tropicals and was a tiny cutting when I bought it. It's much more interesting now it's getting more mature leaves but it is not the most exciting example of the Philodendron species.

I feed mine moderately to lightly every watering and she has more than doubled in size this growing season!
