Yesss, Florida Ghost is one of my favorites! They propagate so easily (for me), and grow like crazy. Mine is just in normal household humidity and I've not had any pest issues with it (despite a nearby banana plant having spider mites at one point). I agree with you that it's so easy going. I seem to get a nice white leaf once in a while. But I like how variable the color of the new leaves on mine can be. Also, the petiole color really doesn't come through on camera in most cases. The petiole color is so vibrant, and I love the contrast between the pink/red petiole and the white, green, and mint leaves.

Ohhh yes I fully agree, when I was editing was a bit bummed the petiole colour did not come through, as you say the contrast against the leaves is awesome

Thank you Memo for these reviews! 💫I'm a huge fan! I don't know how you do it, but every time I'm about to buy a certain plant, you upload new video exactly about what I was thinking to purchase. 😅

Glad your review went out to be so positive, love mine, he's so pretty
Got him yesterday, roots outgrowing the pot, he needed a stake... Therefore half price off, totally healthy, put him into aroid mix and on a pole, nice pot, he looks as if he wants to thank me 🍀

I absolutely love my Florida Ghost! Got it as a rooted 1 leaf cutting plus tiny new unfurling leaf from a private local seller 14 months ago, for $20 Singapore dollars. It’s about 60 cm high now from top of the cache pot and puts out a leaf every 2 to 3 weeks? Seller had rooted it in pon so I continued using pon when I repotted it with a skinny green stick for support. It grows next to my variegated Alocasia machrorizza which is directly under a Haus Bright grow light so I know it loves the light. We have up to 90% humidity in Singapore but I have 5 mini electric dehumidifiers scattered round the apartment or we would have more mildew in the home. The living room dehumidifier is 6.6 metres from the Florida Ghost and I wonder if it creates the following problem sometimes for me - I have lost 5 or 6 new leaves when they’re half unfurling because they get kinda stuck & the stem then snaps😞Otherwise the plant would be even bushier. I just counted & it has 22 leaves currently. I did watch your video on not trying to get leaves unstuck but I admit I have done it with this plant a few times because of the snapping problem. I just had to help the latest new creamy leaf a few minutes ago as I noticed it was getting slightly stuck - generally at the leaf neck of the ghost (narrowest bit) because of varying levels of humidity from day to day? Otherwise, the neck tends to wrinkle slightly or even tear a little sometimes. Also, I realise that if the new leaf growth is pushing out under my large alocasia leaf, the resistance it meets causes the petiole to snap as the leaf is unfurling! Hence I generally watch for the new growth & rotate the plant gradually so it has ample space to unfurl. I saw the comment about slow growing in pon but perhaps our warm humid weather accelerates growth. I water & fertiliser my ghost weakly every 7 days to the minimum level of the indicator

Oh my, this one has been on my wish list for so long now! It's still a bit above what I would give for a plant where I'm from, but I'm on the hunt for one. Your plant looks amazing, honestly, those leaves!

Great review, as always! I've heard but only good things about this philodendron.
My experience with the Florida Ghost, although pretty short, seems to resonate with what you've said. My specimen is growing quite fast despite being a four nodes mid-cut with three new leaf buds growing at once. After about a month and a half under my care, the two top leaves have already begun to unfurl and I can already tell that this is my fastest growing climbing philodendron because, as small as it is, it's thriving at the brightest spot underneath my grow light. Doesn't seem to be fussy about watering either, mine is in a too compact soil in a solo cup that doesn't drain properly and it still seems to be loving life. Will definitely repot once the first leaves have hardened up a little bit.

I bought a small chunk over a year ago and so far I've gotten 3 small leaves in my prop box. I love it! But it's so slow. In saying that, the leaves are almost entirely white with tiny flecks of green

I was lucky and got one in December for highish double digits in the US through a local FB group. It has been fine in my dry climate and I don't even use a humidifier. Probably could get bigger leaves if it had more humidity (maybe?). Finding the right amount of light for it was the toughest part. I love the leaves. It's a really aesthetically pleasing plant.

Oh tat, really glad you got it when the price was good. Yeah light is a bit of a trial and error with this one. I kinda give it the same light I give my hoya or alocasia and it seems that is the sweet spot.

I have had my ghost for about a year. It took a min to get aclamated to my space but then it took off and grew so fast. It was doing so well then I took cuttings. The cuttings are doing well but the mother plant is so sad! She definitely went into shock. Her leaves turned downward and she has been slowly loosing leaves as she works on her new growth point. Her roots are fantastic still so I am not worried I will loose her but she definitely dose not look happy.
I have noticed that she likes to get a bit more dry then my other philodendron before I water. I did take the cuttings in the fall/winter so that may have something to do with my plants struggle. I keep her under grow lights at 55-60% humidity. About 70 degrees F. The FG is definitely one of my favorites and I highly recommend. It is so tough and beautiful!

I checked your review as I'm awaiting my first leaf :) I bought one leaf like 2 months ago. It rooted nicely but I can see it's not a super fast grower. It will definitely take a while before mine looks like yours ;)

Love these videos. I've got a Florida Green (that I love) and I rarely buy 'trend' plants. I do think the Florida Ghost is gorgeous, but it has never tempted me because I love the green. However, the Florida Beauty has had me 'itching' for a while now. I have no idea why, as I'm not particularly a variegated fan, but I remain VERY tempted. Have you got a Beauty? If so, is it worth it?

Pls add category if a plant need moss pole or coco nut pole.

Its in pon . not sure what to do

Ahhh good shout, I will add info on poles. I do find my cuttings in Pon grow a bit slower. But they have started picking up speed now that spring is starting. Mine have done very well in Pon with self watering. They go through the reservoir, really quickly 😅

I know this video is 2 years old but I’m searching out care videos as I just bought one but haven’t received it yet. For reference, it is 4/13/24 and I paid $24.50 in the USA for a starter plant on Etsy and the listing says ‘mint’. 🤦🏽‍♀
