Just knowing my 2022 Warlock would be the same as your truck I started at the front installed the latch and ran the wire thru the firewall with much angst only to discover my wires already tied into the electrical block. 😮.... Well lesson learned. Thanks for the indepth vid anyway. For 2022 Warlock you only need the latch and key fobs and then programming.
I believe it has to do with the hood ajar switch signal usage you selected. My vehicle has the original hood harness that runs all the way to the #11 pin. Yes, I also installed the OEM hood latch with the switch. I also have an OTC bi-directional scan tool. What ends up happening is if I select 1k ohm instead of 500ohm, yes the bcm sees a change in voltage when hood is open, but because the value was set to 1k ohm, it does not show hood open but instead still shows hood closed. If I change it to 500ohm, it shows hood open or closed correctly when I do open and close the hood. - 2021 Ram 1500 Warlock
Hey Daniel - great video. I have a 2014 single cab tradesman. So I don’t need to replace the RF hub or add the antenna either? By far the best install video that I could find thanks for your help
@@david14fan realize it's and old post, but this is incorrect. The kits for 2013-2016 (each year is different part #, and 2016 is no longer available) comes with another RF Hub and Antenna to use for remote start and must be programmed for it to work and is a different part number from what @DanielPace92 used. I went thru it on my 2014 Tradesman. In 2017-2024 the 5 lug (Gen 4/Classic) Ram's, the RF hub and antenna is no longer required, so the kit was changed to a much simpler install.
Warm the vehicle up in the winter or cool it down in the summer before you get in to drive. Not that big of an issue when the vehicle is garage kept but for some of my other vehicles that do stay outside, it's nice in the winter to have it started and defrosted by the time you leave.
you said you have the wire and connector at the hood latch but it dead ended at the TIPIM ! do you know what slot and color the wire would come from in the TIPIM to run to the BCM ? I ask because I have the wire at the hood latch purple and white chaser and in slot 11 at the BCM as well ! Would i need to run a new wire from hood latch to the BCM that comes with the kit!?
If you have a wire in pin 11 on the BCM you should be fine to use the factory wiring. It never hurts to put the latch in, program it, and see if it works. If not then you just have to run the new wire.
So my 18 already had a wire in this pin, but I don't see a connector anywhere near the hood latch. Nor does the latch have the plug (I just installed it)
Trying to get remote start on my 2020 1500 classic. Trying to just ground pin 11 as seen on ramforums, but can’t seem to find a wiring terminal that will fit into the 11 slot. I’ve pulled a wire from a 2010 ram, also pulled an extra wire from under the hood, and order a connector kit offline and all seem to be too big for the slot. You have any idea where I might find a wiring terminal or info on that?

That's what the install directions say to do. I'm surprised though that the connector is MIA, but depending on year built and options I suppose it's possible. I will say it is taped up on the wiring harness under/behind the latch on the radiator support.

I'm trying to follow your first step of changing the remote start present value to "yes", and every time I try and change the value it stays on "no". Is there a trick to this? I've got a 2018 2500 Tradesman
I have my ebay keyfobs (fobik) that I bought and got programmed by a locksmith. They start the truck but do not lock and unlock the doors. Do you think I can program them to lock and unlock the doors? Do I need a harness to do that? I appreciate your video. Thanks

Not necessarily. I also have the plug but my bcm connector was not populated. You have to check that first. If it's not populated you need to run the new harness and pin the wire in the bcm connector.

2017+ does not need the RF hub. The 2014 models still need the RF hub.

i dont have keyless entry just remote keys , will this still work ?

any ram 2018+ needs a security bypass harness to program the keys as well as most jeep and dodge vehicles
Followed all the procedures and took it for a long drive after reseting the RF and it still saying remote start cancelled hood open

Which wing? if you are talking about the wiring terminal braking, only way to fix it is cut the broken terminal off and get a new terminal.
