Spot on worked exactly as you described on my second Jeep GC 2014 Overland, already had it from factory on my 2015 your a champion keep up the great work!! Both the videos are required normal key programming first then remote start also Read Pin from alfaobd was incorrect but calling a dealer gave me the correct code, wrapped love remote start !!
I believe you have to cycle the push to start through the rebooted RF HUB so it can do the cycle of lock doors flash lights and sound horn...heard that from a tech for dodge he had to install a new RF HUB and BCM in a RAM and I guess it was in the tsb. Was a recall to reflash the BCM.they did it and then it would not communicate with the RF HUB put in a new hub and got it to communicate and did what you did said road test cycle and it has worked since...but the service bulletin stated to road test cycle... hope it helps you and others ✌️👍👌🇺🇸🇺🇲
It's a bit different on older vechicles. On my 2008 dodge charger. My remote start went out and the inhibit reason was no hood switch. So I looked din alfaobd amd remote start was on but I could not find hood switch. It is under output b14 I th9nk. Make sure you turn that on.

I just added a rear view camera on my 2014 Ram1500. It has the 5 inch screen and didn’t have a reverse tailgate camera but when I installed the new tailgate handle with a Mopar camera I found the wires for a camera were there. I just plugged the camera in the socket. Can I use the AlphaOBD to program the screen to work with the new camera?

Great video but I installed one on my 2018 Ram 1500, all went well, used alfaobd to add all the settings and program the keys. The issue is when I push the button on the remote the horn beeps but no start, get a message on the EVIC that says REMOTE START CANCELED HOOD OPEN. The hood isn't open. I did the take it for a drive thing but still doesn't work. Any idea's?
Check to see if you have the correct hood latch with wiring... if not... the wire may not be in the plug in the body controller... the bcm is way up under the dash on the left... on the driver's side
@ryanseigfried2496 thanks, I ordered the kit from the Mopar dealer. The instructions say if the existing harness has the plug for remote start to NOT use it, as it would cause failure. I've got the new wire run, but will have to get someone to add it to bcm, just too tight for me to reach it.
Off topic but involves alfaobd hopefully, I have a 2014 ram 1500 limited, the gains on my cluster won't go up or down and it says "trailer not connected", brakes and turn signals work, (I've tried attaching to multiple trailers) is there anyone that could help out?
I have the same problem with my 14 i cant figure out how to fix it either, i did disconnect the trailer brake module under the drivers side foot well and the message went away
@Brother Trucker I got the problem fixed. My truck came with air ride suspension (changed it to coil over), and I unplugged some fuses to get rid of the service message. Turns out that for some reason, the trailer brake controller and the air suspension share a fuse.

I have a dodge Durango SXT 2015, the first issue I got is the invalid PIN, the Alfaobd shows me a pin but it seems invalid, so I went to a locksmith and he gave me the correct PIN and he programmed it for me. I enabled the Remote start from Alfaobd, but my car doesn't have a sensor for Hood, so I kept PIN 11 settings as No, which didn't work for me, then I tried to make the PIN 11 value as Yes, but now it shows me an error when I try to Remotely start the car "remote start canceled hood open"
I can tell you that to add the OEM remote start on the Dodge Durango, you will need other parts besides just programming. I have a 2014 SXT and I bought the Mopar remote start kit # 82214118, which I believe only works for model year 2014. There is a revised kit with a different part # 82214597 for 2015. The kit came with the hood latch, wiring harness, a new RF Hub with a different part # and an additional antenna module to be added in a spot where there was none from the factory.
How do I disable my remote start on my 17 Ram 1500? My key can be in my pocket and it still starts my truck randomly. I push the lock button to go somewhere and it’ll just start another one or two more times before I even make it inside.
Taking it for a drive might be like programming a tach on an aftermarket remote start. You can't make a remote starter work until it learns the tach feature. That would be my guess. Could try just turning the truck on for a few minutes and shutting off.

Did this right after posting. Only needed to ground pin 11 on the upper left BCM module. I wouldn't recommend purely for the hood safety mechanic not working. But it works great!

I have a 2014 too Im working on this right now i programmed a new key with the start button, i turned on all the settings like in the video but when i try to start it with the key the dash says "remote start inactive hood ajar". So my guess is i need the resistor, because the truck honks like its going to start but it doesnt. I can let you know if it works this weekend.
@@kentwicker6818 if someone plans on going the route of not getting the latch and plans on working under the hood hopefully they know that is a possibilty And disconnect the battery or put the key in a safe place so that cant happen. Im just testing to see if it works. And if i can find a latch for a decent price ill probably snag it which most people probably should.

Has anyone done this with a tradesmen? Mine came with a physical key (no remote unlock) but I was able to program a key fob and the remote unlock. I’m hoping that means I have the rf hub and other hardware to program remote start
How did u do it ? Because i have tradesman 1500 2017 , i took it to locksmith he programmed a fob to start the car only he couldn’t make the unlock/lock buttons to work , I tried to do it with alga obd same thing only start the truck key functions lock/unlock does not work .
You have to drive it so the truck can register the change. Same process if you disconnect the battery before you get it inspected You have to drive the truck 40 to 60 miles to let the computer do its run sequence and pcm can accept your changes
That’s a different scenario. Disconnecting the battery and having to drive it before an inspection is so that the emission monitors can run and pass the checks. I’ve done a ton of computer changes and usually they are immediate or within minutes. Even the key fob was instant. The remote start requiring a drive is a weird odd ball one
@@BoostedMotorsports probably a security feature, if you change functions to open/start the vehicle remotely, a unwanted copy of the FOB by a bad guy can't be used right away to steal the car. It need a full "key-cycle" to activate the change. Key-cycle maybe defined by distance or time running... {maybe only in Pushstart versions IDK).

your original key does have the remote start button, it just does not have the pop pad inside the key to press the button. if you put that pop pad inside your original key, the button would work.

Follow this video but when you get into the WRITE THE SUSPENSION HEIGHT VALUES let the app read your truck sensors, then let your truck adjust its height and then STEP OUT FROM THE TRUCK AND MESAURE THE DISTANCE FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE WHEEL TO THE EDGE OF THE FENDER AND WRITE THIS VALUE FOR EACH SUSPENSION. After this your truck will adjust to its original height values, meaning this will adjust the normal, exit, off road 1 and off road 2 standard heights of your ECU System. it all works just fine, did you install the obd port security gateway bypass? its needed in 2017 plus models...the dealerships put this on in order to stop people from using 3rd party diagnostic software and scanning tools making the consumer have to go to the dealership or buy really expensive scanners
FYI, When some parameters are changed they need a specific amount of key cycles before they work. That's why it worked after driving it...

To fix it, open your key fob and super glue the silver contact on to the button

I don't think so. I'm working on a 15 now. The factory kit I bought has a new RF module and antenna module so the 14 is probably similar.

@@brothertrucker3304 The switch probably isn't that expensive. What if you are working under the hood and someone accidentally starts it?
@@kentwicker6818 if someone plans on going the route of not getting the latch and plans on working under the hood hopefully they know that is a possibilty And disconnect the battery or put the key in a safe place so that cant happen. Im just testing to see if it works. And if i can find a latch for a decent price ill probably snag it which most people probably should.

Following all the instructions in the video, I was able to code the new key with remote start button, but when I want to remote start using the new remote, it just honks once but won't start. On the dash it says "press the brake and press the start button"
Has anyone done this with a tradesmen? Mine came with a physical key (no remote unlock) but I was able to program a key fob and the remote unlock. I’m hoping that means I have the rf hub and other hardware to program remote start

Because i have tradesman 1500 2017 , i took it to locksmith he programmed a fob to start the car only he couldn’t make the unlock/lock buttons to work , I tried to do it with alga obd same thing only start the truck key functions lock/unlock does not work .
@@walcont Do you have power lock/unlock inside the truck? If so you can program it with alphaobd.

You have to drive it so the truck can register the change. Same process if you disconnect the battery before you get it inspected You have to drive the truck 40 to 60 miles to let the computer do its run sequence and pcm can accept your changes
That’s a different scenario. Disconnecting the battery and having to drive it before an inspection is so that the emission monitors can run and pass the checks. I’ve done a ton of computer changes and usually they are immediate or within minutes. Even the key fob was instant. The remote start requiring a drive is a weird odd ball one

@@BoostedMotorsports probably a security feature, if you change functions to open/start the vehicle remotely, a unwanted copy of the FOB by a bad guy can't be used right away to steal the car. It need a full "key-cycle" to activate the change. Key-cycle maybe defined by distance or time running... {maybe only in Pushstart versions IDK).

I figured it out its a 1000ohm 5w 1amp resistor 🤘search up how to bypass the hood latch sensor and you can get confirmation

your original key does have the remote start button, it just does not have the pop pad inside the key to press the button. if you put that pop pad inside your original key, the button would work.

Doesn't work on 2019... It won't read any pin... It just says it's not able... They told me after 2018 you can not just get a pin.

Hey guys I know this is frustrating and hopefully I am not too late for some of you. It took me some atime but I think I got this. Follow this video but when you get into the WRITE THE SUSPENSION HEIGHT VALUES let the app read your truck sensors, then let your truck adjust its height and then STEP OUT FROM THE TRUCK AND MESAURE THE DISTANCE FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE WHEEL TO THE EDGE OF THE FENDER AND WRITE THIS VALUE FOR EACH SUSPENSION. After this your truck will adjust to its original height values, meaning this will adjust the normal, exit, off road 1 and off road 2 standard heights of your ECU System. Hope this works for you.

it all works just fine, did you install the obd port security gateway bypass? its needed in 2017 plus models...the dealerships put this on in order to stop people from using 3rd party diagnostic software and scanning tools making the consumer have to go to the dealership or buy really expensive scanners
