    Totally agree, haven’t had a mistake picking this bike as my 1st motorcycle. Very fun bike to ride and can easily filter even in the worst traffic.
    As a new rider with zero experience with even smaller cc bikes, I made the trident as my very first learner bike and was able to managed it and learn to ride safely with it and eventually get there to having fun with it every time I rode it 🎉😅

    England is a tiny country so this bike is easily big enough. As soon as you hit the ton in your country you’re already in the Ocean, lol.
    So yes this bike is more than ample.
    Cheers.

      I agree bigger bikes are for some of the larger states or long distance touring in the UK.

    I don't understand while most reviewers, you included pretend and mention a million times how great this is as a beginner bike. In my book, 250cc-400cc are beginner bikes. At 650cc a true beginner will get themself in trouble in a hurry. Why not hightlight for what it really is, a great option in the crowded 650-850cc class with obvious stand out features like the low weight, nimbleness and amazing soundtrack.

    • @motomogul
      @motomogul  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why would you have an underpowered bike when you’ve just done your practicing and test on a 650cc machine? Adding 10cc is hardly going to be a problem for you? Makes perfect sense 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @parthpatra5122
      @parthpatra5122 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bro it’s beginners for Superbike, we all have and still riding 100 to 350cc bikes, 650 can be beginner for people who wants to own a superbike. I hav owned 150cc, then 350cc, now i own trident 660 and still its under powered for me in the country like india. So yes it can be a beginner’s motorcycle.

    • @motomogul
      @motomogul  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@parthpatra5122 I suppose it depends on where you live, what the motorcycle culture is like and what people’s expectations are. In the UK, most people want a bigger bike when they pass their test. For the main test here (A) you have to do your training on (I think) a machine with minimum 600 or 650 cc.

      I agree. I used to have a street triple 675 and before that a yamaha FZ6. The trident is wonderful. I love it dearly. I'm short 5 ft 5 and so it suits me. As a biker of over 15 years, id never say this was a be beginner bike. I also get around 56mpg. I would dnot be without my quick shifter or my puig screen which makes a massive difference

    This bike can be ridden spiritedly, but it has fantastic manners for newer riders. My wife just bought one. Here’s my take. Not all beginners are the same. Some people should NEVER ride. A quick learner could easily make a trident their first bike. It has a sleepy throttle off idle, and it feels like it weighs nothing. My wife whips this bike around like I’ve never seen her do on other bikes.

    Subbed!! I got this over street triple because it was 5,000usd less and apr rates were 2% on this as opposed to 9% on the 765. I thought same thing, a slow 765 that i would trade next year… i was wrong, this thing is fun as heck, the corner exit on this is hilariously fun! The short gearing adds to the fun!

    @boblynch7535 ปีที่แล้ว

    What I missed in the 70s!! I grew up in New England with your little twisties riding Commandos then a Ducati 750 Sport. These bikes were Super bikes at low 60s for horsepower. This Trident would be unthinkable in the day! Alas, I’m in the Rocky Mountain West. Vast open spaces. I’m riding a Tiger 900 and that’s barely adequate.

    So I wasn't crazy; this bike is very quick on acceleration. I used to ride big 1000cc bikes many years ago but I never had as much fun as when I ride this little gem. I don't own one but I have occasional access to one. This bike will actually start lifting the front wheel off of the ground in 1st gear when you get on it some, even in rain mode and even during its break-in period without exceeding 7,000 rpms and even without using full throttle. It's an amazing little bike and I would even chose it over the more powerful CB650, just for the lower rpm flat torque curve and its amazing exhaust note and 3 cylinder engine sound.

    • @motomogul

    Looks like a great bike and one I would consider my only reservation is the new Street Triple R.
    triumph website configurator specked as I would there was only £1400 difference in price.
    If purchasing with PCP I would guess the difference would be minimal.
    The £1400 would buy you 40hp, IMU lean sensitive riding aids, aluminium frame etc….. for newer riders the STR can be limited to 100 hp with the rider modes and unlocked with more experience.

    • @motomogul
      @motomogul  ปีที่แล้ว

    • @oliverk6449
      @oliverk6449 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@motomogul indeed it does… the thing I think is odd at the moment is that bikes aimed at new riders aren’t equipped with cornering ABS. If anyone is likely to panic break mid corner it’s going to be a new inexperienced rider. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next generation Trident will have it

    • @motomogul
      @motomogul  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@oliverk6449 Yes, definitely would benefit new riders, I did lots of mid corner panic braking after I’d done my test. 🙄

    Great revue really enjoyed it👍. I wanted to buy the tiger 660 but there is no cruise control or an option to fit it. Would have been Ideal for me being an older rider who likes to tour.

    • @motomogul
      @motomogul  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Eric. I’m reviewing the Tiger 660 soon, I didn’t know it didn’t have cruise control. Pretty stupid on a touring bike. I would have thought it’s an easy thing to put on it too with the electronic throttle. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @eman19487
      @eman19487 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@motomogul It appears it`s not possible with the type of electronic ignition it uses, with all the comments that have been made about the lack of cruise control you would have thought Triumph would have done something about it but no they haven`t ,it`s their way or no way ,pity it would have been a major success.😞

    • @motomogul
      @motomogul  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eman19487 Absolutely, they’ve adopted the same approach to the Rally Pro by making a really tall bike. They really need to address their intransigence towards potential customers. Must be costing a fortune.

    The Trident is an example of why people say triples are somewhere in between twins and inline 4s. The best of both worlds, somewhat, coz all of its torque is easily accessible in the lower RPM range (4000rpm) while all of its horses show themselves in the last 2000 of its 10000rpm range. Wife loves it.
    The newer T-plane triples are a bit closer to twins - my T850 makes almost all of its torque under 3000rpm and literally runs out of puff after 7500rpm, well short of its 10000rpm limit (to differentiate itself from the T900 that ekes out 10 more horses in that region). I'm too old to be revving the tits off my bike anyway.
