Strike on Olbia

The Silencio and her escorts have struck the port of Olbia. Two transports were sunk at anchor and the port suffered the loss of an estimated 24 thousand tons of ship building or repair capacity.
The Regia Marina seems to be preparing for the invasion of the Baleares.
That is something I have noticed, the Italians disproportionately don't build ships, don't modernize, and don't replace ships despite having plenty of budget and shipbuilding capability. I find that they mainly build ships for other countries

The First Battle!

Two Astrodiablo class Destructors de torpederos, the Sanchez Barcáiztegui and the Basco, from the Málaga Base Naval in Andalusia, and the Astrodiablo third tranche class Destructor de torpederos Cometa from the Mallorca Estación Naval on the Baleares, were exercising with the Russian Rynda class protected cruiser Bogatyr of the Ottoman Navy when they encountered the Regia Marina. With her 14 knot speed Bogatyr would have been easily destroyed, so she was told to retire.
The Italians had a convoy of the Etna, a 3 thousand ton 37 manned unarmed transport escorted by a San Pietro class Incrociatore corazzato, the Aquila, and two Alcione class 1893 refitted Torpediniere, the Cigno and Eridano.
Sanchez Barcáiztegui led the division forward, with Cometa and Basco following. Sanchez Barcáiztegui soon had Aquila in sight and was opening fire on her. When the transport came into sight Sanchez Barcáiztegui turned her 5”/40 Mark 3 guns on the Etna and sank her with all but 1 of her 37 man crew.
With Etna sunk Sanchez Barcáiztegui turned her guns again on Aquila. Cometa and Basco were finally up and beginning to contribute, having found it hard to hold formation at top speed. Aquila was soon flooding fore and aft, with water breaching her engineering spaces and disabling one of her engines. Her steering was damaged, she had fires, and already 70 casualties reported. Her 6.2” guns couldn’t range on the Destructors de torpederos, nor track them at their speeds. Aquila burned through 32% of her ammunition without effect. Aquila sank leaving 7 survivors out of a crew of 227.
When pulled from the water the Regia Marina personnel were tight lipped about the purpose of their mission and the size of the escort. The one survivor of the Etna was much more forthcoming, in an expressively Italian manner of course, about the parentage, sexual proclivities, dinning manners, and general hygiene of the crews of the two Torpediniere who bolted away from the battle before they even sighted the Spanish ships.

The government in Bissau, of the now Guinea- Bissau but formerly Portuguese Guinea, has taken to attacking Spanish Commerce as well. More forces have been sent to the west coast of Africa, to reorganize and support two active campaigns at once.

The Italians have demanded that the Armada Real Española cease moving their ships so far east in the Mediterranean. The new government’s reply is that the Armada Real Española has freedom of navigation in all international waters.

The Campaigns in West Africa are over. The Ejército de Tierra and the Armada Real Española failed to take Liberia, and have withdrawn, which means the country is likely to fall to France.
But Ejército de Tierra and the Armada Real Española have succeeded in ousting the regime in Bissau. The province is now under Spanish control.
The Ottoman cruiser that came along to help out was Russian-designed, at least, and if that's the hull I think it is it isn't inherently terrible owing to the fact that it gets twin forward underwater torpedo launcher mounts.
Now you have naval prestige, try allowing unrest above 15. See if that changes government
Colombia’s Caribbean Coast has been Taken!

The Colombian ports of Cartagenam Barranquilla, and Santa Marta have been taken, along with key cities and towns up to the Andes Mountains and to the Golfo de Urabá, but including the Valle del Madgalena.
While our losses are unknown, and those off the Colombian Army against us, we may have to thank America, as they report having lost 15 thousand marines and nearly 500 naval personnel to inflict 27 thousand casualties on the Colombians.
They have been forced to stop their campaign in the north and accept our control of the territory.

The Conde del Venadito '09 refit will upgrade ten Cruçeros de 3a Clas designed originally to a target displacement of 4,000 tons and a top speed of 21 knots.
The class now has three steam turbines engines powered by naturally aspirated boilers burning coal vented though three funnels generating 13,426 indicated horsepower turning two screws for the required top speed on a design displacement of 4,202 tons fully loaded with a balanced rudder turned by hydraulic power for an operational range of 5,900 kilometers.
The class' main battery is now two single turrets mounted one fore and aft bearing 6"/40 Mark 3 guns with 5" face, 0.5" top, 4" barbette Krupp Cemented armor, turned by advanced hydraulic power systems with enhanced reloading, and anti-flash hatches, internal shell handling, and thicker barbette armor. The main magazine carries a balanced standard load of standard sized 50% Base Fuze HE and 50% standard AP shells using Cordite High Burn as the propellant and TNT as the bursting charge. The secondary battery is eighteen casemates nine per sides bearing 3"/35 Mark 3 guns with 2" face and 0.1" top Krupp Cemented armor. The secondary magazine carries a HE heavy standard load of standard sized 62.5% Base Fuze HE and 37.5% standard AP shells. Six underwater torpedo tubes launching new 19" Mark 3 compressed air aided torpedoes rounds out the armament.
New Krupp Cemented armor is clade 4" on the main belt, 2" on the extended belt, 0.2" on the main deck, 0.1" on the extended deck, 0.1" on the inner deck, 2" on the superstructure, and 5." on the conning tower. The Class has a double bottom hull, reinforced bulkheads separating extensive compartmentation, counter-flooding systems to avoid listing, pumps and piping for flooding reduction. A crew of 363 officers and enlisted men will be provided cramped quarters. The class now carries advanced radio communication systems.
The refit will cover the ships Conde del Venadito, Valiente, Fernando El Católico, Infanta Isabel, Colón, Ferrolano, Guadaquivir, Andaluza, Reina Cristina, and Hermán Cortés. Refit time will be 2 months with a recommissioning time of 2 months. Valuation of each ship will rise to $18,071,200, and monthly maintenance in port will be $795,133.
I don't suppose it matters much as armour isn't really a thing on your destroyers but would it not make citidel shorter to have the gun before the top tubes
War with Colombia

The South American country of Colombia has been using its Caribbean Sea ports to interfere in the trade of the Reino de España. The Príncipes mercantes have been forcing the Consejo de Ministros to get the Ejército de Tierra and the Armada Real Española involved in ending this situation. The Generale Supremo dell'Ejército and the Almirante Supremo de la Armada have agreed on an overall strategy of campaign, which is to land on the Caribbean coast and take the ports and the supporting territory up the Andes.
The United States Marine Corps is also at war with the Columbians and attacking Columbia in the north. This may turn out to be bit of a race.

Armada Real Española Mobilizes

The Silencio, lead of her class of Acorazado de 1a clase, the San Juan de Gargoriu, lead of her class of Cruçeros de 1a Clas and her sister ship Princesa de Asturias, the Narváez, lead of her class of Cruçeros de 3a Clas, and the Conde del Venadito class Cruçero de tercera clase Fernando El Católico, from the Barcelona Base Naval in Catalonia, have been sent to invest the port of Olbia on the island of Sardinia.
The Silencio class Acorazado de 1a clase San Vincente, two San Juan de Gargoriu class Cruçeros de 1a Clas, the Rapido and the Purificatión, the Conde del Venadito class Cruçero de 3a Clas Valiente, and the Cardarso class Destructor de torpederos Odiel, from the Valencia Base Naval in the Province of Valencia, have been sent to invest the port of Cagliari on the island of Sardinia.
The Silencio class Acorazado de 1a clase San Fulgencio was in the Santiago de Cuba Base Naval Principal on Island of Cuba on a port visit and has been recalled to join two San Juan de Gargoriu class Cruçeros de 1a Clas, the Concepcion de Zubelzu and the Santa Maria de Gracia when she finishes commissioning, and the Astrodiablo class Destructor de torpederos Basco, from the Cádiz Base Naval Principal in Andalusia, to also head towards Sardinia. The Intrépido, lead of her class of Acorazado de primera clase, from the Santiago de Cuba Base Naval Principal in Island of Cuba, is being sent back from her port visit to Cádiz.

That Italian CL was crap when it was designed in 1890, and in un-refitted condition in 1910 it is, indeed, "apocalyptically shit." Hilarious watching it go up against up-to-date DDs that put it down entirely with gunfire and not suffering a single hit. If this is what you can expect from Italy in this war your challenge is going to be drawing the conflict out long enough to be able to achieve all your war goals before they surrender, not sinking their ships.
Just call the new ships the "San Juan". Whatever that last word is, it's difficult to pronounce even for native Spanish speakers!
Besides that, what the hell is Italy doing? No BBs, hopelessly outdated ships... I don't see them having a bright future, nope.

The Partido Nacionalista Español have lost power in the national elections. The Partido Conservador has gained a majority in the Cortes Generales with the support of the ever flexible Partido Leal a la Corona. The Partido Nacionalista Español is now the largest opposition party. The Partido Liberal was hit hard in the election, losing their positions in the Consejo de Ministros. The Partido Comunista Obrero Español is still limited in their representation.
Reports abound that the Almirante Supremo de la Armada many have manipulated events prior to the election to cause the downfall of the Partido Nacionalista Español. This would of course be a violation of regulations that serving officers not involve themselves in politics. Of course no evidence is presented by nacionalistas of this conspiracy. However some analysts suggest that the Armada Real Española is looking for a rematch with the Regia Marina now the Silencio’s are commissioned and supported by the new San Juan de Gargoriu class of Cruçeros de 1a Clas and the refitted Conde del Venadito '09 class of Cruçeros de 3a Clas.
