Losing Philippines is suck tho no foothold in asia and the rich oil, this is definitely more challenging but ill still prefers the old save, but definitely gonna watch both if you ultimately decide to do bothh!
I think the ai did a pretty decent job designing your starting fleet. I have seen a lot worse things.
I would have put duals on the CA.
The BC is ok, maybe move the wing turrets farther forward for more firing arc and redistribute the armor.
I like the BB design as a second rate ship. I usually have a class of 9” ships to act as tanky CA killers especially before the first BC hull unlocks.
4 9” duals on one of the pre-dreadnought hulls tends to delete every except other BBs.

My rankings for the ships would be:
DD: Fine, I'd use it, no need for refits (but it would be nice)
CL: Fine, just need a bit more armor to prevent being shredded by Destroyers (refit in the future)
CA: Eh, workable as a very powerful Cruiser killer, and those guns will only get mroe accurate as tech goes on
BC: Eh, a refit is needed to change speed and turret armor, and make her citadel smaller, but she's fine
BB: A cruiser killer, a nice idea, but... I need something to deal with Battleships, not a HMS Dreadnought isnpired 9" layout
I'd keep them, but use them as Heavy Cruisers and Cruiser killers
Of course, I'll also make all these ships look better, have a smaller citadel, and make the layout better, but I'll keep the same positions
(Torpedo behind the guns for the DD, weird funnels for the BC)
Overall, a workable fleet, just needs some refitting and getting rid of unnecessary weight (BB's)
Also, there's a chance you'll be fighting the ships you sold
27:54: You know you should have classes of ships available for sale to your allies, and if you design something spiffy they like they can burn through the flaws leaving you the chance to get flawless ships later.
Well, I wasn't paying attention to the community tab either, and all of a sudden we end up in this nightmarish scenario! You did well burning those designs, preferably in front of their original designers.
Now, how the hell can this situation be recovered...
For roleplaying purposes, let's say that the Admiral sourced the 5.3"/40 caliber gun from Italy, who were unsatisfied with the performance and licensed out the design (Historically Italy did use a 5.3" gun as secondaries on the rebuilt Cavours, Dorias and the Capitani Romanis).
Honestly I think someone got angry and overtook your navy, creating false reports of enemy fleets and scrapped your fleet, intending for you to retire, replacing the navy with superior ships (and ruining the gained territory)
It didn't go as planned
(Also, the AI autodesigned ships are nice, considering they could've been far worse)
I really like the refit to the Alertas, the aft gun and torpedo arrangement looks very nice

Well that sucks , youd done so well . Now youre up against it , although as a Spain is my main player youre starting right for 1910 , you want to steadily catch up you can at least concentrate your fleet too

The new Almirante Supremo de la Armada Real Española has ordered an immediate review of all ship classes for possible refits or reduction. The Partido Leal a la Corona, only recently having assumed power, has replaced the former Almirante Supremo, a staunch member of the Partido Conservador, knowing that the Armada Real Española would be in the hands of a reformer of radical tendencies.
Your rebuilt CA has no secondary guns at all. Shes armed with 4 twin 8" main guns and 6 underwater torpedo tubes. Did you really mean to leave off a secondary battery?

So I noticed on the nexus page for U.A.D. That there was a mod to reorganize the tech trees and that you had seen it and actually commented on it, I was wondering if there was any way you could integrate that with your mod (with that person’s permission of course) because I’m trying to use both and I don’t know if I’m doing it wrong or they’re just not compatible rn
Yes the tech groups submod is very much made with my blessing & what help I can. I did consider integrating it into the main mod but it would make the install more complicated

Deliberate, I mention it briefly but the 8’s are small enough that secondaries, while nice to have, add a lot of complexity and cost

why do you go with the biggest funnels? I have found that the smaller they are the more efficient they are per ton
I tend to prefer to minimise the number of funnels to keep the citadel small, or if I have superstructures with funnel spots I want to maximise my engine efficiency

The new Almirante Supremo de la Armada Real Española has declared that he cannot operate and modernize the Flota while bearing the cost of maintaining and operating the Acorazado Vencedor and the Cruçero de battala Ifigenia.
His hopes are that the Reino de España can make an alliance with another minor maritime power that wishes to buy our outdated ships.
Ships under construction have been scrapped.

The Vulcano '10 refit will upgrade eight Cruçeros de 3a Clas refitted to a reduced target displacement of 7,400 tons and a top speed of 27 knots.
The class now has three new geared turbine engines powered by forced draft boilers burning either coal or oil vented though three funnels generating 49,359 indicated horsepower turning two screws for the required top speed on a design displacement of 7,281 tons fully loaded with a new balanced rudder turned by hydraulic power for an operational range of 5,918 nautical miles.
The class' main battery is now four single turrets in super firing pairs fore and aft bearing 7.5"/45 Mark 3 guns with 8" face, 3" top, 6" barbette Krupp Cemented armor, turned by electro-hydraulic systems with enhanced reloading, and anti-flash hatches, internal shell handling, and thicker barbette armor. The main magazine carries a balanced standard load of standard sized 50% Base Fuze HE and 50% capped ballistic AP shells using Cordite High Burn as the propellant and TNT as the bursting charge. The secondary battery is eight gun mounts four per sides bearing 3"/30 Mark 2 guns. The secondary magazine carries a HE heavy standard load of standard sized 62.5% Base Fuze HE and 37.5% capped ballistic AP shells. Fourteen underwater torpedo tubes launching 19" Mark 2 compressed air aided torpedoes rounds out the armament.
Krupp Cemented armor is clade 3" on the main belt, 2" on the extended belt, 0.1" on the inner belt, 0.5" on the main deck, 0.2" on the extended deck, 1.5" on the superstructure, and 6." on the conning tower.The Class has a double bottom hull, reinforced bulkheads separating extensive compartmentation, counter-flooding systems to avoid listing, pumps and piping for flooding reduction. A crew of 526 officers and enlisted men will be provided standard quarters. The class carries advanced radio communication systems.
The refit will cover the ships Vulcano, Neptuno, Consuelo, Condo de Regla, and Antonio Ulloa, Reina Cristina, Asturia, and Pizarro. Refit time will be 4 months with a recommissioning time of 2 months. Valuation of each ship will fall to $37,013,410, and monthly maintenance in port will be $1,813,657.
None of the other Admirals hate us in 1910. They just feel sorry for the Spanish navy.

Bold choice, choosing an auto-generated fleet to refit. I think you did a good job with them, and yeah, picking up a Superdreadnought might be the way to go with your tighter budget, at this stage. 👍
