  • Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! This time we take a look at a recent giveaway that TEMU performed where for a small amount of money (that they may or may not give) led to them collecting hordes of data they probably shouldn't have legally been allowed to. Thanks for watching!

My sister is an elementary school teacher and the picture she paints is terrifying. These kids are our society's future builders, engineers, and rulers. Chinese companies are obligated to hand over information to the CCP when requested. There is no "it's possible that yhe company will give information to their government". It is mandatory.
    Another thing to consider is "how does is it so cheap to send a cheap plastic item from across the world, but it costs me quite a bit more to ship the same item to someone in my own town?" The answer is that China uses its status as a "developing country" to take advantage of a program that subsidizes shipping from developing countries. If you live in a developed country, chances are some of your tax money is contributing to this program. China constantly tries to show that it is a developed country and is better than the West, but they will never willingly give up their status as a developing country because it would disqualify them from exploiting this program. Next time you get cheap shipping from China, remember that your country's tax dollars likely footed the rest ot the shipping bill.

    A point I always see videos about TEMU miss, but is so important to point out, is that they are able to offer free shipping or cheap shipping on so much stuff because our taxes SUBSIDIZE THE SHIPPING. Our taxes are literally going to China to help them profit off us, all while crushing out local businesses who have to deal with very expensive local shipping. This is because China is still afforded "developing nation" status, which is ridiculous at this point.

    • @snow56border

      @@snow56border Sure that helps. But if people had to actually pay the real cost of shipping individual items all the way from China, the locally made stuff would still come out on top generally, or at least be close enough in price that people wouldn't feel so burned by it.
      But yeah it's unfortunate, we're destroying our own economy, these regulations need to be updated to account for how things have changed in the past 20 years. I know last year the US government has started to push to strip them of that status, and of course the CCP is trying to use the fact they have bad per-capita GDP as the sole reason they still deserve it, even tho that's wealth inequality caused by their own greedy policies.

      @awesomeferret 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're not talking about an individual billionaire shopping, you're referring to a business that a billionaire owns shopping. @awesomeferret No what I'm talking about is absolutely true people who are extremely rich and want to purchase items for an extremely cheap price do exactly what I described when they do it they will typically do so as part of a business expense or otherwise in a way that allows them to basically purchase whatever they want and have it available whenever they want. I understand that it seems like they are able to purchase whatever they want for whatever price is asked however they really do exactly what I described. These things said I don't think that everything that a billionaire purchases is done that way only that it is sometimes. Your average super rich person helps to save themselves money by making massive purchases which are typically things like an entire year's supply of TP but it is still. They are able to do that kind of stuff and save themselves lots of time, money and other things. The other part of the slogan is that you are able to aquire something that you might not have been able to otherwise as if money was no obstacle.

      @awesomeferret I was not saying that they do or always do purchase Chinese products only that people of high wealth are absolutely able to get items that they want mass produced or purchase items as if money isn't a potential problem or anything else. This is what their ads are trying to make it seem like you will experience by purchasing from them.
      If you want my opinion on what they are really doing its fairly simple, they mass produce items that are of questionable quality and value on such a massive scale that very few companies or countries have any chance to compete. This said they are probably part of the CCP draining the western world of financial stability slowly in a way that is harder for the majority of people to see and eventually they will basically be able to kinda purchase the ones that they have bankrupted.

    I saw an ad for Temu and it said "sign up and get a free drone" and I thought even if it was the most cheapest drone that can't even get off the ground, that still doesn't seem right. So I looked into it and you need to spend a certain amount to get it... Not exactly "sign up and get a free drone". The false advertising is awful.

    TEMU is the sum of all fears to people like me. I used to work in the e-com business and it always shocked me to see how much info a recommendation-engine is able to gather. Even though we have stricter laws in Europe concerning data privacy, I am paranoid about that stuff. And to think that a chinese company with their " more liberal" rules on privacy processes my data ... 😮

    I spoke to an attorney, what basically you gives Temu the rights to uses anything at your disposal free of charges because you accept that $50 under ToS, and there's no mentions of how long it would be, aka, forever, even after u are 6ft under.
    Also, even if you try to sue Temu for shady practices, you accepted that $50 as a contract, in any case, it would favor Temu.
    For example: if they uses your images or social media as a reference to 1 of their faulty products that accidentally kill people, the liability will be on "YOU", YES, YOU.
