Blackstone fortresses are bigger than any city on Earth...combine that with a power source leagues more potent than all of Earth's current nuclear power plants combined...no planet could survive that. You also have to keep in mind that Cadia is a fortress world, the planet is nothing but a wasteland covered in nothing but military installations designed to endure planetary bombardment and literally hell itself. Nothing short of a Blackstone fortress could even hope to scratch the surface in a meaningful way...and well...you can see the results.

Later on (in the same story), three Blackstone Fortresses were said to form a triangle in the void, and an energy signature was read between them that shot towards an Imperium System's sun, causing it to go supernova. Sooo, yeah, i'd say that the energy cores in Blackstone Fortresses are capable (if they're ruptured) of destroying a planet...
the blackstone fortress weighs around 6 orders of magnitude then a Deathstar does, and is about 5 times the diameter. it is so massive that there is no artifical gravity generator. it doesnt need one.
Not sure why some seem what the admiral did as stupid or whatever. I see what she did as brave. Balls of steel she had. No hesitation died like a warrior.
If I'm not wrong, the reconstruction/regeneration process of the Necrons is not perfect. Everytime a Necron is destroyed and regenerated, its mind breaks a bit, to the point where after a certain number of regenerations, he'll have lost most of his sentience. It's why their leaders tend to be in a better state of mind compared to the foot soldiers.
The size in game is so it can be seen; in reality it's dozens of miles long, high, and wide, and so dense that ships trying to dock with one have to compensate for its gravity.
And lose even faster. That's where they failed. All bold bravery, but no brains. The Imperium is always trying the same tactics without innovation. That's why the Lord of Change has the great game in the bag.

If you think about it the imperium won the battle of cadia the black crusade was retreating but then abbadon decided to act like a whiny child and throw the black fortress towards cadia

How come the planet endures a lot of explosion and crashes from big ships but not the impact from the black stone fortress? Am i missing something?
Probably has some crazy overpowered core which creates some mega nuclear explosion
Blackstone fortresses are bigger than any city on Earth...combine that with a power source leagues more potent than all of Earth's current nuclear power plants combined...no planet could survive that.
You also have to keep in mind that Cadia is a fortress world, the planet is nothing but a wasteland covered in nothing but military installations designed to endure planetary bombardment and literally hell itself.
Nothing short of a Blackstone fortress could even hope to scratch the surface in a meaningful way...and well...you can see the results.

Blackstone fortresses were (in the lore) credited with scouring a planet clean of anything on the surface. *Anything*. Two of them combined opened a portal to the Warp that unleashed a wave of Chaos energy powerful enough to quite literally delete everything on the planet.
Later on (in the same story), three Blackstone Fortresses were said to form a triangle in the void, and an energy signature was read between them that shot towards an Imperium System's sun, causing it to go supernova.
Sooo, yeah, i'd say that the energy cores in Blackstone Fortresses are capable (if they're ruptured) of destroying a planet...
the blackstone fortress weighs around 6 orders of magnitude then a Deathstar does, and is about 5 times the diameter. it is so massive that there is no artifical gravity generator. it doesnt need one.

If I'm not wrong, the reconstruction/regeneration process of the Necrons is not perfect. Everytime a Necron is destroyed and regenerated, its mind breaks a bit, to the point where after a certain number of regenerations, he'll have lost most of his sentience. It's why their leaders tend to be in a better state of mind compared to the foot soldiers.
Not all necrons are mindless sadist Flayed ones mate.
The Silent King and the higher leaders are still very sentient

The size in game is so it can be seen; in reality it's dozens of miles long, high, and wide, and so dense that ships trying to dock with one have to compensate for its gravity.
