  • Augmented Reality in Construction using the Argyle.Build app.
Argyle is running its newest build (Tiger Corn) on its oldest hardware: the Hololens 2. We're pretty impressed with that load performance, but it's even faster on the next gen devices like iPads and the Magic Leap 2. Join us on a site walk in Augmented Reality. As we progress through the site, more of the model loads around us.
Argyle is used to discover site problems before they become rework. From layout to QA, it's a lot easier with site visualization in AR.

    How it works
Sign up for an account at argyle.build
Upload your model via Revit Plugin at argyle.build.download
On your device, download Argyle Build, Log in
First time: align to the site
Next time: show up and your models are waiting for you
We designed Argyle to be a walk to load model so you can see what you need in space as you move through it.
FAQ: Positioning wise, Is it possible to confuse Argyle? Sure. Give it bad reference points or Take it in an elevator to a floor it's never seen before. But Argyle's alignment is dynamic and smart enough for the changing jobsite. Within a few clicks, you can set adjustments to correct positioning. Argyle's alignment can be set to your survey controls for precise alignment. For rough alignment, simply place yourself in the mini-model or dollhouse and go.
FAQ: How many anchor points to you recommend: It depends on the device and the kind of job you want to do. Try a couple, and work up from there to get the level of precision and control you need. Some people breadcrumb the anchors throughout a site. Some set them only where they work. If the device returns to an area it recognizes, it will automatically realign to that area.
FAQ: Can you author the model from inside the Argyle experience? No. Argyle lets you interact with components to say whether or not they're there, explore their metadata, and turn off and on certain categories. The authoring stays in Revit, but any changes made to Revit export are quickly realized on site. It's the closest thing we know to realtime design change and documentation.
Mechanical systems are displayed along with gridlines , plumbing and floors. We'll come back soon with the electrical models.
    Until next time.

I need this for a Meta Quest 3 or Apple vision Pro. The construction industry is ripe for this kind of innovative use of tech.

Hey I’m a developer and curious: even with (currently) poor see-through resolution and quality, would this still be useful? Or is the tech too early?

@@anthonybustamante5736 I think the Qust 3 could handle it pretty well with it’s current pass through. I think the tech is good to go. It is more likely the architects and engineers doing there drawings in a formats that can be spatially used by a VR / AR headset.

I really want something like this in hardware stores. where I can search a part and it would take me directly to it with AR.

How does the device scans its surroundings? (lidars?),
Can It be used in other headsets like Meta Quests and
How accurate are the augmented model in terms of measurements?

Computer vision + Argyle's Alignment. Yes lidar. No, Meta Quest. Within a finger (cm) for defined alignment points set by user (compared to control). Within inches during travel throughout the building or site.
