This a fantastic development in the industry and a fantastic use for the AR technology. 👏🏻

Yeah, it's the first use I've seen that hasn't looked like a gimmick. Awesome!

Funny, been working on AR problem for over a week that I just solved and this video popped up. It's a great technology if used for the right purpose.

This tech is a pure win for the industry. I wish it was around 30 years ago when I was a builder.

So awesome to see you covering this, we've been using this tech in Chicago's water and waste management systems around the city for the past 6 years and it's truly been amazing in increasing enthusiasm from new hires and allows us to really coordinate much better. Many construction operations around Chicago have also been utilizing this tech in house since before Google Glass, but have been keeping it quite under wraps. Looking forward to the point where we have AR tech that resembles that of Tony Stark's lab, sci-fi is almost reality in this industry!

This could be useful for all sorts of design and construction. Like getting out on the ground and being able to visualize the changes. It could be used for landscaping, and countless other things no doubt. Just being able to get on site and foresee any potential concerns is awesome. It's really cool!

This is awesome. I was thinking someone would do this when google glass came out and flopped. It's a great technology for construction. Glad to see someone pulling it off.

AR is cool but you need the phone app for all the actual laborers. Otherwise, it's still managers and foremen walking around and pointing at things.

One of my projects used very similar technology. It was used more for the client's benefits so they call see what the finished space may look/feel

How many people each year are going to accidentally walk off a ledge into an AR space that isn't there? What protections are they putting in place to ensure that such events are rare? And should only a small number of workers use these or is the vision that many regular workers will use them?

fantastic. but for my industry (bridges) there are still no userfriendly 3d reinforcment planing software and no good bim solutions. it works with a lot of effort and crazy tricks, but its just takes more time to plan bridge in 3d. i have vision how it should be, but software develepers cannot invest so much money in bridge software.
the problem is geometry. bridges are always curved in 3 dimensions, so its still faster to do it with 2d and low quality planing. building sites are ok because they dont know that it can be better.
other problem is that for briges you cannot make mathematical releationships beetween fem model and geometrical model so easily (no software / dynamo to complicated to use for that).
why nobody is trying to invent some kind of material, so that you can build all bridges without curving in all 3 dimensions, and for car dynamics you put some kind future material without reinforcment on top of bridge, which surface will be curved for cars. its crazy that we build curved reinforcment bridges on a daily basis (not true for italy, but true for germany)
