Quetzalcoatl is a deity in Aztec pantheon. Aztecs are also known for their "swords" called Macuahuitl (basically a wodden paddle with obsidian sharp shards inserted into the edges). That guy's cosplay at 10:21 with the weapon and the headpiece was on. point. ✊

As somebody who dislikes engaging in PvP, I really appreciate your positive and fun-focused duels/invasions.
Most PvPers I see are a bit too serious and focus a bit too much on winning and optimizing. Which is absolutely fair, if that’s what appeals to them and their viewers.
chase and saint riot are a blessing to this community, keeping the pvp is for fun spirit alive, they know how to optimise but also know how to hold back in the spirit of a good time
I agree, many PVP streamers are starting to become annoying because they are always complaining about meta strats, and also insulting the players they invade.
Go to Boilprawn Shack, enable Taunters tongue and make sure you got the white cipher ring, also have the blue one, its much less anxiety ridden if you get summoned as a blue guardian to help, whether you die or not doesn't matter.
However when using Taunters tongue you can literally just practice being invaded and don't chase your invaders, they have to kill you, stay near boilprawn shack grace, if you die your runes are nearby, and you can also get dozen of practice with little to no anxiety by surviving and dodging till you get a hunter helper to kill the person for you and slowly go from there, really strongly recommend. I did this for 4 hours at level 130 and garnered around 5 million runes easy. Most of the kills were done by hunters.

@@junjunlupisan8569 they need to complain about the game if they want stuff fixed, if everyone would start to act as if there was nothing wrong with the game, then the pvp would never stop being a broken mess
Crazy how people ignored this katana. I made the thing my main weapon before ever going to fight Margit. It's a really solid weapon.
Because in PVE its AOW is garbage amd serves little purpose. Plus, you don't get it early and it requires heavy stats for its little use. I think the Uchi or Nakagiba are much better and easier to use
I mean there’s a lot of better options, prolly the best thing about this Katana is its unique R2 attack

@@pisstachio which are far and apart... It's gimmicky. You know what would've made if better? Faster aow, rock coming down from the sky, rocks shooting off...etc.

That spell the draconic guy used at the start is an Ash of War called "Knowledge Above All" that increases magic and holy damage taken by everyone (caster included) in the area by decreasing magic and holy resistance
You've been killing it with the weapons so far, how about a weapon to challenge your skill? Perhaps the One-Eyed Shield?

Yeeeeees! My favorite of the katana type weapons! This bad boy is such a beast!
It does so much more stagger and poise damage than a normal katana, I love it.
It's exactly what I'd hope for in a strength scaling katana, still light, but with real heft behind it!
Also, Quetzalcoatl's aztec warrior and then the Kratos afterwards! Awesome cosplay there, haha!
Funny you mention its stagger ability. I use this on radagon and I time my dodges to go for the full charged heavies. He takes a knee pretty quick.
Yes, I go fetch this weapon every playthrough straight away. Then I use it to get the Bloodhound Fang, then finish the game ;)

at 11:09 your opponant used the Scepter of the All-Knowing's weapon skill, which is Knowledge Above All, its basically a debuff that makes both you and them more vulnerable to magic and holy damage

Fun fact. The R2 is a basic strike called "Men-uchi" commonly taught to all first year kendoka students.

You two aren't kendoka practitioners I see.
Those are Kenjutsu terms not kendo.
Also, "Ichimonji" means straight line while "men-uchi" is head strike.

I've been loving these showcases, thank you for the great content. I'd also like to suggest a showcase idea for the Rotten Greataxe, it's got some odd scaling but it looks really cool and has rot buildup so it would be cool to see if someone who's as good at PvP as you are could make it work. Especially since you've been highlighting weapons that don't always get tons of love in PvP.

Is it really faster? I love it’s look and the fact that it doesn’t have a sheath so I’ve been pairing it with my occult scavenger curved sword. I just didn’t notice it was any “faster”

@@rhaosaa2623 It’s faster with a unique R1 moveset that takes you a little further forward and looks fancier. The speed increase is just slightly more dps in PvE really.
When I found this weapon on my first playthrough and tried it out and found the R2 to be Ichimonji I was like YOOOOOO and used it a bunch and love it. Gravitas is also really nice for dealing with elusive enemies and flyers. Probably my favorite katana.

I’d love to see a weapon showcase of Great Hammers! I’ve been using a fire Large Club, and Heavy Great Stars a lot but have had mixed luck in PvP so I’d love to see what you can do with the move set!
Thanks for producing and posting this. That 3rd opponent, the Crescent Moon was wielding Regalia of Eochaid & Marias Executioner's Sword. I recall you mentioning he was wielding a straight sword with a Greatsword and got a glimpse of them at the end. Surprised he never used a AoW. The Meteoric Ore Blade is my favorite weapon for avoiding damage from and killing flying creatures. Bring them down to the ground, then an R2 is usually enough to kill bats
One of the most underrated weapons in the game due to PvP. Its charged attack deals an insane amount of physical and poise damage, almost too good to be real. This video shows what a great choice it is in PvP, too.
This is my first souls game. Your videos inspired me to start doing PVP. I started with duels. Moved on to joining gank squads and I'm now a legit invader. Having so much fun. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love your commentary when it comes to PVP. Something nice you may consider adding to your videos is a quick overview of the weapon you are showcasing. Such as nuances of the weapon, which talismans effect it, etc

Blindly found this sword on a lv98 alt 3 days ago, got it to +4 (that's all I had atm) and was having a *blast* with it. *Immediately* got it on my 179 main, been using it more to help hosts with Malenia. Love it.
I think this is my fav katana next to the serpent blade because of the heavy attacks, they feel more characteristic for the swords themselves. the Meteoric Ore Blade having the Ichimonji style heavy attack coming down like a meteor and the serpent blade having a quick double strike like a snake.

Helpful hint for those who don’t know; using gravity sorcery or aow near flying enemies or just those temporary in the air like with some dragon incantation will always get pulled to the ground. Even the birds with the sword feet
Ive been using the meteoric blade and I prefer gravitas into 1 light, running heavy, followed by a light into a heavy. The short blade requires you to always be aggressive or very patient.
Been loving the vids you should do a dagger i think it would be nice since you haven't used one kinda wanna see the Reduvia

I love this series. I'd like to see a showcase of Nox Flowing Hammer or Veteran's Prosthesis. I haven't really seen them used, and both of them have interesting ashes of war.
Hey Chase! Sick showcase as usual. Loving this series. Do you mind showcasing the Great (Pe)èpee or the frozen needle in a future vid? I really like the slashing attacks from the epee and the backstep heavy feint with frozen needle is absolutely insane

I've used it a bunch in my playthrough and it's lots of fun if you don't want to use moonveil.

I'm int weapons build and love this one! From my testing with a buddy I found that if they spam roll out of a gravitas hit, a FULLY charged Heavy will ALWAYS catch given they were pulled close enough. To reiterate, asap full charge catches asap roll. It gets trickier when both duelists know about that though!
This combos with other weapons using gravitas as well. Warhawk's Talon is one of my favorites for the unique heavy! Timing can vary, but I often find success with full charges here as well.
I use the ore blade to bait them in then switch quick to the moon veil to finish. I did not think about the strength scaling. Very informative!
The purple in that ash of war always looks so good, I love gravity magic.
It looks almost as good as the lovely lilac of st. Trina's torch

I would love to see a showcase of the Dark Moon Greatsword. The tracking on the ash of war is less than stellar in pvp sometimes and I'm still trying to get a handle of the normal moveset on greatswords in general.
Meteoric ore blade + moonveil on dex/int build was a ton of fun, and I always go str/fth.
Even though I've beat elden ring, and am not one who replays or follows games after, I still look forward to each of your videos!

The great mace with prayerful strike is really fun to use with a strength/faith build and can be used very effectively with Melania's great rune cause combined your constantly getting health back. Plus you can buff up with the erdtree blessing as well and just with those three you'll be a health Regen machine.

thats the weapon that i used to complete my first playthrough, i love how this game have weapons for everybody, dex int, str int, and same with feith (but im not comfortable at all with feith build), but however u want to play, this game have a weapon for u and that is awsome
Very nice man. If you don't mind talisman swapping for it, the Bullgoat Talisman and Axe Talisman are great for the Gravitas in to the charged R2 combo

Ever since i got this sword it has been my main throughout the game it has helped me defeat alot of bosses such an underrated weapon
Lord Olivies (the one with 2 great swords) was using chestpiece that increases jumping attack damage (and probably seal too) - that is why it was so much damage.

I just want to say that you're the best Souls PVPer out there. Almost never loses, doesn't get angry, doesn't insult his opponents or those he invades. I see many of these PVP streamers act like their way of PVPing is the right way, and always complains of meta weapons and spells (frankly, it becomes annoying). You are better than them because you win despite encountering players who use such meta strats.
