My father had one of these, and being a Catalina, it had the Slim-Jim Roto-Hydramatic. That transmission earned its bad reputation. It needed frequent repairs. The Star Chief and Bonneville had the 4-speed Jetaway Hydramatic, which was a much better transmission. But I do think these were some of the best-looking Pontiacs ever and are fun to drive.
How does the shift pattern work? That always used to confuse mechanics. They would put it in Neutral and try to back up, thinking they were in Reverse.
Always love to see the Pontiac's from the 60's fixed up. I have the 64 Bonneville two door hard top. I love my Pontiac.

Yeah this one has the th400. Must have lost the old trans years back

@southerner66 yeah reverse would be 1st in a th400. So all the way down. Th400 is regular patten
