@@MortskeRepair I know that your a very busy man but I would start writing a good book with Mojo and whatever you can remember from you childhood and the way it was when you grew up and what they did to get where they and you, plus the knowledge you have came from. A beautiful little touch on it would be a good historical sights and lands of how things were and are looking now. If there's anything left from then, show up pictures of the place now and then and show the difference between them and if things are different oh well and if not it would be nice to see how close they are and what they are now if not the same. P.S., do what my friend did when he was on TH-cam for a little while before deleting everything, hang ☢️🛑 signs like NO TRESPASSING with out permission of the Owner and the other one was WE WON'T DIAL 911 UNTIL AFTER WE DIAL .357! Worked perfectly and kept out all undesirables period. The "Trespassers will be prosecuted to the maximum sentence allowed by the law of North Dakota and the Owners"! Should be sufficient without triggering the Karen's in the neighborhood and beyond that just wants to pop in unannounced and uninvited by the Mortske Repair shop and the proprietor's, Signed Duff!💪🐕. A 421 SD has always been and still is a “dream car” that I’ll never have. But if I win the lottery….. lol, yeah right. Anyhow, I guess I should have worded it different. Replica, clone, tribute, or whatever I mean, I’d make it look like a SD421 and be damn proud of it.

I had a bunch of pontiac hardtops and convertibles, Many of them ran hard like the 62 . The one that reminds me of you pounding the 62 was a 65 Bonneville two door hardtop with fenderskirts that I bought in leavenworth Ks with a 389 and a factory 4 speed it was a sleeper, one time I washed the motor and then hotrodded it and blowed the rods clear out of the block, all of the pistons were up to the top of the cylinders, the push rods wer fish hooks the cam was in little pieces as was the crank. Ibought a 428 out of a 69 grand prix with 390 horse and put it in the 65 It was the fastest car in Leavenworth . Thanks for bringing back the memories for this 75 year old man.

Those pump jacks make good torque. My dad had a 69 Pontiac Grand Prix with the 400 4 barrel factory dual exhaust with the TH400 . Not sure what it had for gears but that car would get out & move and it actually handeled pretty good . One thing to keep an eye on is the harmonic balancers on them the rubber deteriorates and the balancer will separate that will throw the balance off and cause the end of the crank shaft to bust off because the Grand Prix my dad had did this twice and i had the same thing happen to my 73 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 400 in it years ago . I worked at S&S performance in Crystal MN and we built a 455 HO Pontiac engine with all the good Pontiac speed parts with a custom sheet aluminum intake manifold custom headers and a 3 stage nitrous system that went into a 69 Pontiac GTO all tube chassis certified big tire drag car that made over 1,200 + hp to the rear wheels on our chassis dyno at the shop . The owner of the car ran it all over the usa at different 1/4 strips and back then it was a national record setting car and was at the time the quickest and fastest all Pontiac powered drag car in the states . Im also a Chevrolet guy and Mopar guy as well and of course love them ponchos because my dad had then when i was young growing up and am 61 years old now . I definitely would like to see more videos of this pump jack for sure and I feel the car is definitely worth fixing it up and getting it painted again so keep them videos coming !

I am only 19 minutes into this episode. And this old poncho is way, way to gooder for your general inventory standard! I mean, it’s almost got zero rust! Basically just the front lower fenders, which can be cut out and patched.
I have been seeing this in the background in a number of your recent videos. Looking forward to seeing what you’ve got here and what you do to it.
Those headers have definitely gotta go. And it also needs the front bumper and trim put back on.

His GP had the floor console and buckets seats, automatic transmission, and whatever engine the GP's came with back then. I would keep this car. Restore the interior, do the body work and paint it the original factory color. The styling of the 1962 Pontiac's were a trendsetter -- the smaller, new Grand Prix of 1970 was a real beauty too.

I have a soft spot for old Ponchos... my first "good" car was a '65 Catalina 4dr hardtop. A gift from a favorite great-uncle, it had 65,000 original miles when I got it in late 1976-- it was my "going off to college" car. White with blue interior, it was the "Ventura" trim (it said so on the door panels). It had the 389/TH400 with a 2bbl carb and single exhaust, so it didn't take me too long to swap intakes and put a Quadrajet on it, and since I worked at an auto parts store, back then I was able to special order everything to change it to dual exhaust with "California Turbo" mufflers. It had some ridiculous "Highway gear" rear end (like a 2.21?), so it wasn't very fast off the line, but it would cruise over 120mph all day! Many's the day going to college that I would have 5/6 passengers riding along, daydreaming or doing homework floating along at over twice the speed limit like it was nothing. Ahhhh... the good old days!

In 1984, with fuel injection having replaced carburetors on most cars, the Carter Carburetor plant closed. In 1985, American Car and Foundry shut down the entire Carter Carburetor foundry, a year later ceding the PCB-contaminated property to the City of St. Louis. The plant became an EPA Superfund site. The site contains contaminants including TCE and PCBs that penetrate the topsoil to bedrock.
In 2013, cleanup was estimated to cost US$30 million.

That thing is awesome. early 60's full size cars are a ton(2?) of fun to drive. that thing is a keeper - it definitely needs a tach and a rev limiter, big Pontiacs don't oil well at high RPM. look forward to seeing an update/interior/paint/assembly on this thing. great work.

I'd like to see a stick in a Cadillac, with a 500. Maybe somebody will do that conversion someday. 🏁🏁 Or put the 500 with a stick in another car. Supervisor Duff says you made a rookie mistake but it's ok and it all worked out in the end. And he still doesn't have thumbs and wants to go for an R-I-D-E. Good job Mort! Thanks for sharing! 😎
