Doctor dray you have saved my skin in so many ways have recently had such a bad reaction due to over exfoliating and I cut out all my skincare from Sephora and made a trip to CVS and wow don’t know what spell I’ve been under spending so much money on pretty packaging! Thank you so much cerave and la roche posay cicaplast bomb saved me!
A tip for bug bites (the itch esp!) - those super zinc oxide (20% or more) white-cast-y sunscreens you tried and just *couldn’t*, they were so thick? Lo and behold they’re SUPERB at quickly calming an itch (even better than hydrocortisone)! And the bite seems to shrink a bit faster, too! Maybe the drying action of zinc oxide? Discovered on a trip to the tropics where i was an exotic feast for bugs that left maddeningly itchy welts the size of sand dollars. Perhaps zinc oxide diaper cream would help, too.
Timely video for me as I fly to NY to visit my almost 98 years young Grandma! I hope you and your Mom have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I'm very grateful for finding you!
mary ann Gonzalez I have missed you too, school work has kept me away, but I have been well. How have you been and have you been keeping yourself warm?...Sending you warm hugs ☀️😘🤗☕️
Do you have an opinion on hair sunscreen sprays like the Clarins SPF hair spray or Aveda hair veil? Any recommendations to protect curly hair from the sun (aside from hats)? Thanks for sharing so much knowledge with us
What about the marula oil that she mentioned maybe a couple of videos back? I think she said it was good for UV protection as well on the hair. The Hat of course protects your hair and your face, chest, neck, and back skin I would think but if your hair is long, no protection. The oil is not greasy and if you don't wear a hat you can still apply the sunscreen to your face and Exposed Skin or you can use the facial Shields. I understand because I have curly hair too and a hat can just frizz it up some more in addition to what the weather does to it. I also have big hair and even if it's slicked back flat, unfortunately I have a big head as well and hats don't fit all that well. :-) hey, an umbrella would work.
dietcokecans There’s always a parasol! I drive by a neighborhood often at the time school gets out, and I see lots of mothers walking their children home from school or the bus stop, using umbrellas in the heat of the day. I imagine it helps deflect the heat as well as act as a sunscreen.
She's beauty, she's grace She'll educate you on skin care for dayzzzz OK that was lame lol Thank you for this Dr Dray!! Can you please talk about catalase and graying hair?
I’m on my way to buy the boots no. 7 eye patches! I live in the UK, so boots has it’s own drugstore. I haven’t been a fan of their standard skincare line but a recommendation from Dr. Dray is not to be ignored! I love your channel and as a nurse whose very much into skincare it’s wonderful to have such a strong evidence based voice in the community calling out so many skincare lines for their claims and empowering consumers to make more informed decisions. Thank you. Also re: your vicarious living request, I’m on travelling to Gran Canaria tomorrow! My much beloved preferred holiday spot. I shall be trying out the boots no. 7 eye patches just before touchdown and be sure to layer up that SPF!
Hi, I’ve traveled to Idaho Falls, Idaho to see family. We are going to a cabin for Thanksgiving and snow is expected. Love 💕 seeing family. Enjoy your holiday with Mom.
Just got back from a 16 day trip to Portugal and Morocco. Returned with acne. I did moisturize but not enough clearly. Will watch this again next time. Morocco is lovely!!
To our lakeside cabin, and not planning to use tons of serums. 1 am serum, 1 pm serum, soap and moisturiser and sunscreen. However, there is a whole extra cosmetic bag of prescription personal care ointments and similar, plus the shampoo and conditioner. Not to mention toothpaste and antiperspirant as well as makeup, bug spray and medications.
I notice when bathing away from home, whether it's the gym down the street or hours away, that even water, sans the suds, has a huge impact on how my skin (and products) can react. Have you already or can you make a video on common and alarming minerals, contaminants, and PH in tap water (and maybe ocean water, too) and what some of the common effects are on the skin? Hard vs tap water?..
Montreal Canada! It’s a lovely place to visit if you get the chance 🥰 Big city but very safe and you feel so comfortable even at night. Also there’s so much to do, it’s great!
Great tips! I’ve very dry skin, and airplanes can be so problematic. Not going anywhere, but TX family (Waco) will arrive on Monday for a 6 day visit- yeehaw!!!
Happy Friday Sweetie!! I Hope Your Are Enjoying Your Day To The Max!! I Sure Hope Your Staying Warm and Cozy Angel!! I'm Sooo Glad Your Back!! I Love You Always and Forever and Ever!! I'm Sending All The Love Hugs In The World!! Always!! xoxoxO!!
Jackie Marsh Thanks again beautiful.I will try to keep warm by all means. They have been working on our heating system for a couple of days now and I hope today it will be finally fixed.Luckily the past two days have been warm,we didn't freeze.I hope you have a beautiful day and you stay lovely as always.I love you always and forever.I'm sending you lots of love and hugs sweetie☀️🧡🧸🐾☕️
This was super helpful. I hardly ever wear any sort of sun 🌞 protection and I take two meds that cause me to be sun sensitive. AND, I'm going to visit my sister and family for three weeks, she lives in Dubai. On top of lots and lots and lots of sun exposure that I'm not used to the environment there is very polluted. So, I'm trying to think more about putting better efforts into caring for my skin. I hadn't really even been moisturizing much until I started watching your videos.
I'm traveling to Europe for a little over two weeks this summer and I was seriously panicking about how I was gonna bring my skincare with me - thanks for the video!!
Timely information today!! I think Canadians are big winter travelers, either to escape the cold winter to warmer climates or to the ski resorts. Husband and I are the warm weather seekers, we travel to Aruba and Maui each winter, and it's true my skin does not look great after getting off our flight. So your advice will help me with dry uncomfortable skin. In 2020, we are travelling to Sydney Australia over two days, I'm thinking I'm going to skip all makeup and just go with lots of moisturizer and sunscreen. Thanks for your help once again!! Happy Friday!! Heading to the Lake House for a couple of day, there's lots of snow so Finn will be a happy pup😊🍁
In the beads section of Hobby Lobby they carry a variety of sizes of both zip-bags and plastic and glass containers for travel containers they are pretty well priced $2-10 for sets of 6-20. Plus there always is a %40 of coupon online. I particularly like the glass ones. I like being able to wash and sanitize them
Travelling from UK to Australia for Christmas. Would be great to know if any of this advice would differ for long-haul flights... E.g. is a fragrance-free sheet mask useful to help reduce transepidermal water loss? Should I wash my face and re-apply occlusive moisturiser during a short layover?
What is the new deal where some dermatologists are saying we should avoid facial oils because they actually end up making your skin dryer? What are your thoughts?
Jan McMahon yeah oil by itself doesn’t really moisturize...not new at all...but cosmetic companies don’t want you to know that 🤣I discuss this in my videos on moisturizer
Excellent travel tips, thanks you! Could you please specify if airplane’s windows block UVA radiation? I know that normal video blocks only uvb, how about uva on the plane?
Thanks dr Dray. I was interested to hear about the UV filter on the glass in airplane windows. I fly a lot and always make sure to reapply sunscreen on my flights because I’m so worried about the stronger uv up there!! I even book aisle seats to get away from the sun!! 😂 🤭 Flights will be so much more relaxing now!!
You won't believe! I am about to travel to South Africa and I always wondering what to do with my skin care routine! You are a magician! Thank you!!!! And, please, could you talk about sculptra?
Dr Dray, check out La Roche-Posay Toleriane Sensitive Créme. I use it at night and when i travel, it is amazing and it is a but richer than toleriane fluide. It is very gentle to sensitive skin (mine is acne-prone also and it does not irritate me in any way)!!
Hello Dr dray, first of all I'd like to tell you how much appreciate your videos: alot. Then I yould like to ask if you have any advice on how to care for a bald head? I am a woman in her late teens planning to go live in a monestary. The problem I have is that I have alot of dandruffs. How should I go about it? Will going bald worsen the condition of my scalp? I would very much appreciate some advice.
Is it advisable to continue with your regular skincare routine that include active ingredients like vitamin c, retinol, alpha arbutin, etc. while traveling where your skin would be exposed to sun all day long?
Florida to the visit my brother. I am very diligent about sunscreen having suffered with basal cell carcinoma from foolishly sun worshipping as a teen. Now I use sunscreen, UV glasses hats, clothing, a parasol & avoid peak hours of the suns rays. All our vehilcles have UV filter glass.
Hi Dr Dray I love watching all your videos I was just wondering some people say don't use the sink in the toilet of an aeroplane to wash your face after you have cleansed so can you use fragrance free cleansing wipes instead to cleanse your face?
Hi from *Japan* ! Thanks for the tips though here there's no holidays now. There are lots of *anti-aging* products with *placenta* from pigs and horses on drugstore's shelves. Do *they help?* Are they *cruelty free?*
Hi Dr. Dray! Great video with great tips! Thank you so very much! P.S. Your skin looks so beautiful! You really look gorgeous! Happy Holidays to you, mom and Tybee ❤❤❤
If I wanted to use the eye masks at home, should I put them on before or after I put on moisturizer (if I do it at night after face washing)? From the video, it sounds like I could also just use them in the morning before applying sunscreen?
Thank u for your videos ... I have thyroid issues... my hair and skin are extremely dry ... any good product specifically for that ? I fill that my hair and body drinks any moisturizer I put on especially now that is winter time . Xo
Hey Dr. Dray! Im going to NY for the holidays to visit my family over there. Cant wait for your fav ointment videos❤ im gonna be sure to pack my moisturizer and sunscreen ☺💘
Is it OK to put Tretinoin in a small travel jar? I’ve heard it will break down with exposure to air and light but when I take the tube it always seems to get a crack in the side and start oozing out all over the place. Plus with air travel when you get to your destination and go to use it as soon as you take the cap off it shoots out fast which is a waste of product.
These are some great tips that I will definitely be using on my long haul flights this holiday season! Thank you :) Also I'm new to your channel and I appreciate all of your professional advice and education.
Hi, Dr. Dray. Here in Europe we have Anthelios KA, that is a long lasting moisturizer with an SPF 50+ but not a sunscreen, it’s for city use (?). When it was released, they claimed that after 8 hours of use it guarantee a protection of SPF 50+ (about 59.7), ie, I understood, it wouldn’t be necessary to apply every 2 hours. What do you think about this? Thanks (sorry about my English…)
Does this mean that the cardigan I bought at old navy, the cotton gloves and the sailormoon scarf I wear while driving don’t protect me from the sun as well as I thought they did?
I just discovered your channel and appreciate how informative it is! It would be awesome if you made a video about skin friendly laundry detergents? Thank you for such great information.
I live in the Sonoran desert, so getting on an airplane is no change in humidity for me. I do wonder how much living in first the chihuahuan desert and now the Sonoran desert had contributed to my acne!
Love everything here and thank you Dr Dray. What are your thoughts on micellar water? Funny little thing is it seems to be better at getting ground in sand out of my granddaughter’s cheeks (she’s 4 and childcare lol ) than water. We don’t use soap at all and I like it for me for removing makeup /sunscreen too
Lis Miller I don’t care for them and they can cause contact dermatitis, particularly if not washed off. They do work well for some as far as makeup removal
Hi. I have dry skin and have been using the Corsx hylauranic acid you recommended +LaRoche Posay Toleriane Ultra Moisturizer + EltaMD tinted sunscreen. Is it too much to layer the Cicaplast on top of the moisturizer? Is it doing anything counterproductive? I've recently pulled out all active and retinol as it was all drying out my skin so much. Thanks in advance!
I just came from Cincinnati to New Orleans. It was not a long flight but it got delayed now my face is all red and swollen specially the area around my lips. It’s looks so bad. What do you suggest and is it dry skin? There is inflammation all over the face.
I live in Utah and recently went on a cruise to Alaska, departing from and arriving back in Seattle. I brought micellar water and a soft washcloth, my prescription cream, and cetaphil moisturizer. Oh, and sunscreen, lol. My skin did great! It certainly seemed to like the increased humidity!
Happy Friday! What a great video idea! With your recommendations, we can take care of our skin. Bringing a humidifier, I never thought of that! I take note of the list of skin care products for travel. We often forget a few items... if we know we have a trip we can start buying the products we need on special and check if we have everything we need! Thank you!
I'm very fair and burn easily and I also fly a ton. I've gotten burns on my right shoulder and right face many times on flights when I wear no SPF. I aways sit on the right side window seat. I'm shocked that you said I didn't need SPF on a flight. I can't be the only one getting burned. Maybe it depends on Boeing vs Airbus? #confused
Hi dr. Dray! I am wondering if there is a difference between the cerave healing ointment and the baby ointment? I cannot get the regular healing ointment (navy blue tube) in Canada :( can they both serve the same purpose (for lips, etc.)? thank you :)
I'm traveling to Detroit next month for my birthday weekend :) I'm so excited since it's been so long since I've legitly celebrated my birthday! haha. My skin always breaks out on the plane or when I'm traveling :( Thank you for the tips! 💕
Total agree re: only taking the essentials when traveling. Gentle cleanser/Sunscreen/moisturizer. The way to go!

Dr. Dray Cerave is releasing their acne foaming cleanser in December, which contains 4% benzoyl peroxide. Please do a review on it 🙏🏽

Excellent tips for travel. Far too often I’ve taken a boatload of products and never used them. Just the basics is all you need.
I’m on my way to buy the boots no. 7 eye patches! I live in the UK, so boots has it’s own drugstore. Today Dr. Dray taught me a new word :) Aliquot(v.)- divide (a whole) into aliquots; take aliquots from (a whole).
The contact lens cases , I have so many of them. Good idea!
Sable 711 👍🏼
2:35 - ALIQUOT!
I was already operating at a high-level when I typed the less impressive word "decant", to find this video.

Happy Friday Dr Dray and everyone . Another fantastic video . I have learned a simple routine is best ! Have a wonderful Friday
Hii, have you ever come across doublebade moisturising gel ?if you have please let me know your thoughts on it 😊
I live in the Sonoran desert, so getting on an airplane is no change in humidity for me.
Thank you !
Flight attendant here and I'm officially referring to the gate area as a holding pen from now on 🤣
Good tips! I have to carry benadryl everywhere. Wasps & I do not have a good history. I love the idea of an SPF scarf!👍

Sharon Peckham 👍🏼 I hope the cruise was fun and you saw some pretty scenery
Dr Dray - Lots and lots of pretty scenery!
Great video doc, I’m going to Colombia in a week!
Can you do a video on Human growth factors in skincare?
Happy Friday! What a great video idea! With your recommendations, we can take care of our skin. Bringing a humidifier, I never thought of that! I take note of the list of skin care products for travel. We often forget a few items... if we know we have a trip we can start buying the products we need on special and check if we have everything we need! Thank you!
Danièle Gagnon Happy Friday 💙
I'm very fair and burn easily and I also fly a ton. I've gotten burns on my right shoulder and right face many times on flights when I wear no SPF. I aways sit on the right side window seat. I'm shocked that you said I didn't need SPF on a flight. I can't be the only one getting burned. Maybe it depends on Boeing vs Airbus? #confused
Hi! What do you think about the the following suncream: Neutrogena ultra sheer dry touch sunscreen broad spectrum spf 100+
Reviews Because-I-Care I use to use it. It contains Avobenzone which can be irritating. I found that it was the major cause of my redness and peeling.
Hi dr. Dray! I am wondering if there is a difference between the cerave healing ointment and the baby ointment? I cannot get the regular healing ointment (navy blue tube) in Canada :( can they both serve the same purpose (for lips, etc.)? thank you :)
I would check the ingredients, but I doubt they are different in any meaningful way
Yess the ingredients are a little different, but i was wondering if it did the exact same thing on the skin :)
Perfect timing! I’m leaving for a Caribbean cruise in 22 days (not that I’m counting) 🤣
😀😀😀
gbeana81 have fun 👍🏼
I'm traveling to Detroit next month for my birthday weekend :) I'm so excited since it's been so long since I've legitly celebrated my birthday! haha. My skin always breaks out on the plane or when I'm traveling :( Thank you for the tips! 💕
