Not sure about the shortcut to spray ultra onto a surface that isn't fully free of polishing oils. For all the time it takes to wipe that off. FWIW I have tried and really do not rate Ultra at all.. came with crazy claims. It was extremely slick and glossy but I didn't find it to be that hydrophobic or durable. Siramik Lustrous is the one you want to try... wow.
Yeah I done get the durability "potential", easy get 3 to 4 months though which is plenty for a sacrificial layer (for me). Don't worry about the polidhing oils, they are gone, and it bonds perfectly well. In fact it improves the final buff due to the slickness

Great question to which i don't have the answer. But will find out and report back. I suspect it will be quite a while
