It isn't the same type of product as those, so shouldn't really be compared. They are doing different things in very different ways. I still use trim/plastic coatings, sometimes in conjunction with solution finish. For me it's job dependent. If someone doesn't like it or doesn't get the results they should absolutely avoid
@@ObsidianDetailing long story short solution finish is absolutely awful & messy as hell rubbish . Use a proper trim coating like what I said & you won’t go wrong . Far more professional too . My Solution finish bottle went to the bin 💩
I do use proper trim coatings, almost daily, when they are required, and a trim restorer when it's required. My experience with it is in no way the same as yours. The professional thing for us to do is use what creates the results we are tasked to achieve. Which means if you don't get the desired results you should avoid it like the plague. I myself will not, as I don't find it in any way difficult, messy as hell or rubbish.
@@ObsidianDetailing what kind of response is that . Solution finish is well known to be messy is one reason why it’s recommended to mask up & it also destroys every cloth it touches never mind it not durable at all in real world conditions 🤮 use away mate I say but your not fooling me with ur opinion & answers 😅
@@davida7713 sorry mate, Ive used this many times. It works and works well. Messy, yes maybe, but nothing a pair of gloves and a towel for wipe up won't fix. He's not forcing ypu to use it. I dont know anyone who hss used this product that doesn't like it. Almost sounds like you have a hidden agenda with how negative you are. To others reading this, it works as shown in numerous youtube videos
SF is good stuff and a nice video. I ended up buying the gray color, as well. The gray is sort of light colored, but you can mix it in with black SF to get any shade of oem plastic. Turning dark gray factory trim to black, sometimes looks a little weird to me.
Love this stuff, good tip to reapply a month later Matt. I'm looking for advice, I need to respray my windshield wiper arms. Was thinking Simoniz bumper and trim paint or like a Simoniz matte black paint. Bit off topic but any ideas? Thanks
I have rarely done it, just in emergency, but always primed them then used a satin black. It certainly makes a huge difference to the overall look. People might not recognise that the wiper arms look worn but subconsciously they know it looks "aged". 100% just get it done 🤩
Solution finish is a messy job & no where near as nice or durable as gtechniq c4 or gyeon trim . Horrid stuff

Really useful video and it's good to know a second coat improves longevity. I recently applied some to badly faded roof trim and was very impressed.
You can in theory do it straight away, but a week or so seems to work well for me. And as stated, coat it for extra durability if needs be
Makes me want to buy an old honda again with products like this!
😅 its good, but it won't perform miracles
Superb video Matt!
Thank you buddy
God I love watching your videos, thanks so much Matt.
Don't know where you find the time lol! Work, do your own AND watch others. I doth my cap to your dedication
@@ObsidianDetailing I frequently get dead legs when on the 🚽 if that's any hint.
🤣

I like this out of the box thinking, I'm all about it, and will surely reclaim it for myself lol
Great video - and really informative. Is it possible to use Solution Finish first, and then coat on top with a ceramic?
Yes according to the manufacturers themselves it can. Just leave a little timecand clean again before hand
