I just redid my son’s mini today with this guide. It wasn’t as easy as you made it look but I got it done.
It all depends on the individual modder. Me, I go a little overboard with mine. Glad you got it working the way you want it. 😁
@@davidgill7412 that’s what took me so long I made sure I had box art for everything and cut the game list down to a reasonable amount. Tomorrow I will install Retroarch and add some other goodies.
@@stephenshelottiii3272 the box art and meta data is always the most time consuming part. Also testing the cores.

Would you be willing to do a tutorial on how to add Sega CD games to the Genesis Mini??? I've seen so many methods out there, and am confused as to which one works the best.
@@blainelocklair Would I use a USB thumb drive on the right slot of the Genesis Mini, similar to what you did by adding the entire Genesis library???
@@sdragon21 Yes. I turned my Sega Genesis Mini into the ultimate Sega machine. I have SG-1000, Master System, Genesis, Sega CD, Game Gear, and 32X all running off the flash drive in the Mini. Also have the android ports of Sonic 1, 2, and CD, as well as Cannonball (Outrun port) and a few Sega arcade games. Hakchi allows download of modules such as RetroArch from within the program. I'm thinking a video may be in order soon considering this also applies to the NES and SNES classic as well. If you can't wait for the video, hit me up in the comments section and I'll try to answer your questions as well as I can.

So what do I do if it's now unresponsive? I reset, re-flashed and set to factory and now my unit doesn't work. I used the correct cable, followed the steps, and am coming up dry. Fixes?
I'm just curious, once the setup installation is completed, will games only show up with the USB inserted or do the originals still show up like the stock unit?

What happens if you do this, play a few games, then the next time, accidentally turn on the Sega mini without inserting the USB? Will the system go bonkers? Or will it simply just load the stock games
Just wondering if this works on the mini 2, or if any way to mod it is being developed?
My understanding is the default core in the Genesis Mini is not compatible with every Genesis game, correct? Don’t some games need to be set to a different core, such as Genesis Plus GX?

I followed the video. Did 2 games for now. But 3 ninja and the 6 pack game chart doesn't work. What cores do I use for those? I do get the intro and some video clip for 3 ninja. But after that, nothing.
I can't believe how close hakchi sounds so close to haxchi (Wii U)
My pc just won't recognize the mini. I looked up a few different tutorials still same issues. I used a Controller cord I had that's USB mini and it works with other stuff I'm just not sure what I did wrong here.
Dose openbor run on the Sega Gen mini was curious because I know the NES & SNES dose .
I did everything exactly as you said to and it didn't work. I got the hakchi splash screen, but none of the games are coming up.

What does it mean when i have to “import as archive” to certain roms?
Okay I need help. I installed Project Lunar. afterwards resolved to use Hackcji again. Because Project Lunar was way too slow. Now I can't install either Hackchi or Project Lunar. It refuses to Uninstall. 😤

I would actually get one of the sega minis but I already have a ps1 mini that is hacked too that can play them. But pretty cool it can be hacked.
Yes. I have a hacked PS1 classic as well. The reason I bought the Genesis Mini was for the aesthetics and for the awesome USB 3 Button and 6 Button controllers (gives it that authentic feeling). I also want Sega to make more mini consoles (really want a Saturn and Dreamcast).
