I can't listen to this song without crying. And you're right, on good headphones this song is an experience...it makes me feel like I'm suspended in the ocean. Endless goosebumps. Such a haunting song. In the UK, ambulance lights are blue and the most common interpretation is that it's a song about self-harm/unaliving. For me, parts of the song remind me of my grandfather losing his battle to cancer in the hospital when I was young. It takes me back to that place and his loss. Gospel yes!!! II has gospel influence for sure, he has said so on Drumeo. I suspect Vessel does too. You’ll hear it throughout their music if you’re looking for it.
On the headphones note I'd highly recommend some Bose in ear buds. Pricey but I discovered this evil little voice that is burried in the mix that makes subtle appearances when it is needed to emphasize something. Their depth is one of a kind
