Vessel is a classically trained singer - I am as well, which is how I can tell. He is a baritone with an incredible range. Great reaction!

What I love about ST is the journey we all go on through each song. Vessel sings with emotion and each stage is conveyed through genre switches. For example, jazzy is feel-good and metal is anger, etc. They are so freaking good!

If you watch a live video you can see Vessel’s lower jaw protrude quite a bit at times when he’s singing which I honestly could tell he was doing that before I saw it! I could hear it lol…it’s incredible how he can sing so low and then hit such high notes! I will say, his speaking voice is pretty deep as well!
Really love to see all the love and appreciation for the intricacies and attention to detail that ST puts into their music…every single little thing is intentional!

I always felt like the mumbled bit at the beginning has the same rhythm as "Diamonds in the trees, pentagrams in the night sky" from Ascensionism.

This song. Oof. First time hearing I was like oh it's pretty good but it wasn't one of my favorites on TMBTE. A hundred listens later and now it feels like a religious experience 🖤

If you watch any videos of Vessel performing live, he definitely does something weird where he sticks his jaw out to give it a unique sound on alot of stuff, so you're right about that. And he's British so his accent affects the way he sings too.

@Nonya12608 He really doesn't though. Looking at his side profile he may have a SLIGHT underbite at rest, but sliding the jaw forward is a pretty common vocal technique in many classically trained artists.

Vessel- was visited in a dream by an ancient deity" that he refers to as Sleep" due to its actual name being impossible to pronounce by modern humans.
Sleep" has always existed and is responsible for giving humans dreams and nightmares. Sleep" promised Vessel- glory and magnificence if he followed him/her.
Sleep" gives Vessel- dreams and visions, both beautiful and glorious as well as horrific nightmares. All of the songs deal with Vessel's- struggle with this toxic relationship with this deity" that he can only access in his dreams.
The songs can also be interpreted as a toxic relationship that Vessel- had with a past partner and all of the fallot from this traumatic experience.
Its entirely your discretion how you interpret the songs.
