I've watched your previous videos and I DON'T UNDERSTAND how someone can have such a sense of style and the ability to arrange their home so well that it looks so cozy. I'm looking forward to the video of how it will be decorated in the new house!
That’s the nicest comment ever 🥹 thank you so much! We are definitely getting there, I am quite thrilled with how the living room is looking. Started painting our bedroom as well but it’s a process because of have to budget haha. Working on the next video, hopefully I can film next week.
Congratulations! Looking forward to seeing how you get on :) fellow South African, but went opposite way! I bought my first flat in Hertfordshire (loved it!) in 2020, recently sold and buying a Victorian house in London. It's VERY smart that you bought a house that is already extended to the max, so all you'll do is refit and decor - extending is so expensive, I will easily need £150k+ for rear and loft extension in London like you already have here - wish I could afford it lol. Enjoy making your home yours!!
Ahh yay! Well congrats on the Victorian in London. I am sure it’s going to be an absolute blast making that your own. My heart is still a bit sore about moving out of London, we are not too far away though. But I felt like we got an extremely good deal on this house as the previous owners reeeaaalllyy needed a deal to work for what they were purchasing. You cannot find a single house in this area for what we paid - never mind a three bedroom three bath one. But yea working on my next video! Thanks for the comment! Always nice to see the Saffas pop up.
Such a stunning home! Congratulations! The loft conversion and garden studio are just amazing features! May I kindly ask how much the house cost? It's fascinating to see such beautiful properties and learn more about them
Oh my next video goes into the bathroom issue…busy planning it out. We won’t make a claim though, for a couple of reasons. But I think my next video might be a nice educational one about do’s and don’ts with loft rooms because that was a big issue 🥲 unfortunately we feel the previous owners were a bit disingenuous, we will just fix the bathroom in future amongst all the other things…
my compliments for your hard work! my husband and I remodeled our current home by ourselves in 2019.. I look forward to seeing the final result! congratulations again! greetings from Italy!✌️🇮🇹
thanks! my husband is also an electrician and antenna technician, we learned to paint by ourselves. if you want advice, just ask! And good work to you! ✌️
We thought it was a lovely ensuite too till we saw how badly it was done unfortunately! The sink is so small behind the door, there’s no way we can have a proper vanity, no real storage. The bath is way too big for the space and it’s resting on wood blocks. It’s a bit gross underneath the bath and around it, very difficult to clean. But the light that comes through is phenomenal! So happy with it for now but will definitely get an update in the future :) I need to financially recover a bit first haha. Thank you for your comment! I appreciate it.
I’m on a mission to convince people that pink is the best colour haha! We have gone with Lick Pink 02 so it is quite neutral. Not too crazy. Thanks so much for the comment!
@@LaurenPlitUK lol, maybe in a girls bedroom but you are yet to convince me that it is a living room colour lol. A shame you had to leave London which you loved but the prices are crazy aren't they. Are you happy now that you did it?
@@dianeyoung2914 The utility room and Neil's office are painted Mango Melody which is far more intense - more orangey pink. I would say that my office is a very girly pink but living room you might might might just say it's acceptable. We would have gotten a 50 m2 flat for the same cost as this house in London. And then it would have been leasehold or share of freehold depending which part of London. We were looking in West Hampstead/Kilburn/Cricklewood, Kensal Rise areas. So yea super happy, the cats are also much happier, lots of space and a garden. We are not toooooo far away from London which is nice. We could go in to see a show, see friends etc
Tip: using the wallpaper you ripped off, paint larger squares on the back of the yesyer paint and move around the room seeing how it looks in different lights. Also, colours look more intense large scale than they do on a tester patch so go one more neutral tone down than the colour you like. Side Note: next time maybe put the toilet lids down before the tour.
You know, I have been telling Neil for 10 years to get onto doing guitar videos on TH-cam. Like, I’m not doing this to be on camera, I hate that shit but he is so so natural and charismatic, he could do really really well with it. So hopefully! It’s also quite sound proof which is fab, no annoying the neighbours. He has painted it Mango Melody 4 haha. We need to get some curtains and his wall hangers, mirror and art up the we are good to go!
Because it’s a neutral really :) just a nice warm cosy colour. Our bedroom will be more orange. We do have bits of green. Would like a green bathroom in the loft room as well. But yea it’s majority pink :) it will be nice, I promise! Front room will be the most Victorian. The rest is art deco/mid century.
Hi Laurel well done you keep it up you are doing a great job and having fun making some brilliant videos superstar Ali Walsall west midlands england junction 10 m6 Walsall churckery up the walsall
I know! They attempted a very mid century vibe. I will put updates up. So I have done ceiling roses, the front room I am making the most Victorian looking room (omg I got the most beautiful Victorian bureau by Restored by Betel), I am going to ask my builder how we can get the fireplace working and Victorian looking again. I will add in bits and bobs of Victorian bits but will be art deco/mid century and retro just because a lot of our furniture does sway that way. I do want to do a Victorian sway type powder room and will do the other bathrooms in a similar style too. So more nods to Victorian than going full blown. When we have a child, that small bedroom with the Victorian fireplace will be full blown Victorian. We are keeping the original windows, we will be restoring them. But yea why take the soul out of a heritage house? So silly. We want to get rid of the slate flooring too. Don’t worry! I didn’t move to the UK to not have Victorian goodness 🥰
honestly london is rediculous, and to be honest you do NOT get that much for your money..and London doesnt offer THAT much more to warrent such high prices...tbh you couldn't pay me to live in London

Wow Lauren, this is amazing 🤩
I can actually see Neil becoming the star of this channel 😂
I really should have picked another phrase. Neil was born to be a star haha! I am not a camera person haha.
This is amazing Lauren! It looks great and I think it will be absolutely amazing to finally live there after all the hard work you've put in.
Thank you Shira! I’m currently priming a wall as I type this 🥲
Beautiful house, can't wait to see the finished result!
You are welcome to come over any time xx
You get 30 days to go back with any issues when you buy a house. The house is beautiful and I’m sure it’ll be gorgeous once you’ve decorated it. xx

I’m here to inspire you to make your home pink

@@elisareggiani-pw2ng haha that’s very very helpful 🥲🥲🥲🥲 thank you
You could always do the lighter colour on the walls and the darker shade on the trims ie cornices, skirting boards, doors, window frames etc.
Yea that sounds like a plan! I think I might :) Thanks.
It's a lovely home! You should leave the ensuite bathroom for last as it looks nice.

Coolest tour, proud of you!!
Thank you 🥹 I’m poor now 🥲
Exciting times, now the work begins. Not sure about pink but we can't all like the same, it would be boring.

Thanks for the tip! Yea re toilet lids haha. We had literally just gotten the keys and we weren’t paying attention. House needed a good good cleaning!
Congrats on the pad you's two! Neils office could also be used for guitar youtube vids!

It does make me a bit sad though because it was the dream. But then again where I live now is less stabby, much cleaner.
