    Do you have a sneaky bait that gets you those tough late summer bites?

      This is my first time seriously trying to catch bass. I was a cat fisherman most of my life until I had my leg amputated and now I can’t get close enough to the water to land an 8-30lb catfish. Lol

    That is a great tip! The brush guard on those are nice and strong but don't seem to hinder the hooksets at all. I will have to give that a try this next week!

      For bigger sizes, I move up to a 3/8 or 1/2 oz Hack Attack swim jig head. I bet it would do really well on your trip! I'm hoping you stay safe, have fun, and catch giants!

    Hey Lowbrow, when I downsize I throw a grub or minnow style plastic on the beetle spin. Super cheap fish catcher. I also love the smaller sized Booyah pond magic spinnerbaits & you never hear about the Heddon tiny torpedo. Glad you brought those up. Old school👊

    I started using the 6th sense line through swimbait heads. I find the 3/16th is perfect for a 3.8 paddle tail. You add a bobber stop and then a treble hook. I use a size 6. It really saves your paddle tails because when they bite it the paddle tail detaches from the hook and goes up the line also making it harder for a fish to throw your hook. If you would happen to break your line at the hook the bobber stop would keep the head from coming off so technically it could also last a very long time. I probably wont buy any other kind after using them.

    • @matthall8378
      @matthall8378 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Oh and you dont even have to set the hook because its a treble hook. Just reel and the bass hook themselves. I see they now have an under spin version. Im gonna have to look into that!

    • @LowBrowFishing
      @LowBrowFishing  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      A line-through swimbait can work really well. Having the bait slide up the line also allows the hook to have more room to stay pegged in the fish's mouth.

    A swimbait is really good in the early morning. 1/4 jighead and a Keitech and that's about all I need.

    The lake I fish is always murky green 1’+/- clarity. I have never caught anything on a swim bait my first swim bait was Keitech 3.7 and 4” pearl white and a black and white one. I still have the baits but never use them because I lost confidence in them.

    • @LowBrowFishing
      @LowBrowFishing  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I also have baits and techniques that everyone else seems to catch fish on that don't work for me. But I still try to use them from time to time just to see if I can dial it in. I've been able to turn quite a few of those lures into confidence baits over the years, such as a Hybrid Hunter and a Boy Howdy. So don't give up on a swimbait!
