Wow. Have you got a doco/narrative in the works at some point? You’ve got a fantastic sense of pace, atmosphere and composition. A great and welcome change from rotating and endlessly kinetic camera work (not that there’s anything wrong with that). Thanks for sharing and good luck. Subbed.
How are you liking the 17-55mm and 0.58x speed booster combo? Can you change aperture with that combo? I also have a BMMCC and would like to buy lenses for it.
I've got the monitor mounted to a support plate, similar to the photo below but mine is in the middle with the strap connecting on either side of the plate with eye bolts: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/802303043-USE/digitalfoto_solution_limited_spider_gimbal_support_plate.html I’m also using these dual handles: www.amazon.ca/DIGITALFOTO-Flexiable-Damping-Compatible-Smartphone/dp/B07FMT6JJQ
I have a BMPCC and just bought the BMMCC for the 60 fps and to use as an A cam with the pocket. I got a great deal on it because the USB port is broken, considering the camera is up to date, I don't think there's been a firmware update on this guy for a while, but I wouldn't need the usb port for anything would I?
You're correct that there hasn't been a firmware update in quite some time, and I doubt there will be any in the future. As far as I know that's the only purpose for the USB port.
Great video ! Congratulations !! Are you filmed in CinemaDNG or ProRes HQ? And for expose with your camera, did you in Film mode (BMD) or with some LUT on your external monitor? I have this question: expose (for example False Color) with or without LUT? Before or after the LUT? Thanks for share your video 👌 Really nice images :)
@@SpencerHetherington According to Metabones specifications EF-S lenses are not supported w/ the bmpcc speedbooster. Did you have to do anything special to fit the lens on?
Dear Spencer, I am truly impressed by your footage, I don´t know anything better than BMMCC, I dont mind about 20,000 K.. It doesnt matter.. everything else afordable looks like adds from tv, but this, this is cinema, in the right hands. I am going to buy one BMMCC, and I am really doubting in between your canon 17-55, (after seeing this) or the newer canon 17-50, or the "so hig rated".. sigma 18mm-35mm.. but I really want to achieve something close to your style and I have not much money.. Do you recommend me your 17mm -55 - the 17-50 ? or the sigma, (or any other) I dont wanna choose wrong, it took me a while saving the cash. Thanks in advance, I admire your talent (is not only the camera.. you have a lot of high culture references)
Yesss! I wonder about the Sigma - Objetivo 17-50 mm f/2,8 vs. the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM! or the: Canon EF-S 17-55MM F/2.8 what would you recommend? awesome work!
Thank you for your comments and kind words, I really appreciate it. They are all excellent lens choices and at the end of the day it really comes down to personal preference, price point, and what features you want. I only have experience shooting with the Canon 17-55 2.8, but I was also looking at getting the Sigma 17-50 2.8 and 18-35 1.8 as well. On paper the 18-35 is probably the “best” of the bunch, sharpest and fastest. It’s also the most expensive. Personally I wanted the extra zoom range and image stabilization with the 17-55 or 17-50, and with a speed booster the f/2.8 effectively becomes around f/1.7. The sigma 17-50 and canon 17-55 are very similar lenses and you would be hard pressed to see much of a difference in terms of image quality. The sigma 17-50 is cheaper but I ended up going with the Canon 17-55 because of a slighter better build quality and focus ring compared to the sigma. The only quirk with the canon 17-55 is that it requires a simple modification for it to work with a speedster by removing the plastic ring around the rear element. I hope that helps. I’m happy to answer any other questions if you have them. All the best.
@@SpencerHetherington Thanks so much for your kind extended question, I am going to buy the same Metabones EF - BMPCC T 0.58x Speed Booster as you use (I found it!) and not the common 0.71, I really want to learn this texture. and I will go for your Canon 17-55 f/2.8 Lens or the sigma 18-35 and in future when saving more, maybe 2 rokinon cine ds -24mm and 50mm¿? that could also cover the spectrum-
cool images
Finally some well color graded BM footage on youtube, looks great!
Looks so good.
This could be an opening scene (with titles) for beautiful movie.
Nice, reminds me of a Terrence Malick film...
1:12 That shot was amzing, the slight glow of light looks alsmost like a 80's movie. Excellent!
What a calming scenes!
Amazing work! It's crazy how powerfully cinematic this little camera is!
Masterpiece
can still learn
Great work man. The light and gentleness of flow. The tilting on the tree is killer!
Very nice work. Great choice of music and camera moves.
"You been watching some Tree of Life?"
Amazing footage 🙏 just got this camera bought the g6 plus Gimbal for it. But mainly IT Will be strapped on my fpv drone ☺️
Damnnnnnnnnnnnnn, this looks fucking fantastic

It's a great all around inexpensive lens. Aperture can be changed through the camera / remote
was there any post stabilization added
I believe just for a few shots
I love it
What did your rig look like? Did you have the monitor on the arm of the gimbal or do you have a small monitor on top?

@@SpencerHetherington Hey, so I have the same speed booster as you. Does it work with image stabilized lenses?
@@KurruptedDataYouT Yes, it does.
Very nice! What lens did you use for this? I just picked up two BMCC 2.5K MFT and I love them.
Did you film all of this?
This is great! I can't get 60p Raw 3:1 to work with any SD cards. What card do you use?
I've been using the Kingston Canvas Go and it works quite well.

Thanks! I shot this in CDNG 3:1. I was monitoring with the film log image, no lut. I went off the histogram, exposing to the right.
Woow looks great, so you change from gen1 to gen4 to use that powergrade
The power grade is made for Arri so just a colour space transform.
@@SpencerHetherington ok, tnx
Looks great! Did you shoot all in one morning, or did you luck out and get consecutive days?
Thanks, just one morning.
