Thanks Walt, not my finest race, for sure! I’ve definitely got the pace to challenge for some good finishes, so that’s encouraging. Just need to find a way to stay safe!
Unlucky Chris, I tend to give Imola a swerve when its on LFM week purely because I've seen so much like your race there I'd rather spend the week doing Dirt rally or AC instead. Looking forward to the next race, good luck!
Yeah the chances of a clean finish do seem rather slim. I’ve done a few races in it now, and had a couple of solid but unspectacular runs. But a couple more disaster zones too!
Ooof! That was painful to watch! But you're not alone. My league race last week at Monza was pretty much the same. I qualified 7th and a car spun in front of me lap 1, turn 2. I avoided, but got tagged by someone behind me. Started a Ping-Pong reaction and in the end I wound up in 21st with aero damage. Halfway through the race, lost it on Lesmos 2 all by myself. I'm blaming the aero damage and sticking with that story. Finished dead last. So I feel your pain! :-P
Certainly planning to Jim, although might be a little bit of a wait. My sub has expired at the wrong time, right among a few unexpected expenses and then Christmas time coming up too. So I can’t really justify the expense of a sub at the moment, but I’m planning on just getting the occasional month sub up and running as soon as I’ve paid off all the bills. Watch this space! 😃
Short but not so sweet. Love Imola, especially in the Mustang. But, boy, did you get a grid of turkeys. Pretty sure Dave Alsopp is either retired or between jobs. He never seems to be away from the game.
Ha yes it’s a name I’ve seen often too! I really enjoy racing it too, and I know there will be more good races than bad this week. I’ve got a few days off work this week so hoping to do a few more than usual.
Bizarre, wasn’t it! Clearly not damage because they’d got up to racing speed down the straight. No in-game slowdowns either, so I can only guess it was a well-intentioned attempt to give some positions back. Certainly didn’t do me any favours though 🤣 although to be fair, I made a complete mess of the recovery, kept my foot on the gas because I didn’t want to lose even more positions, thinking I’d get out of the sand safely 🤦🏻♂️
Congrats! I’ve now managed to bag a P2 here as well, although it was a very quiet one. 5secs slower than the leader, but a lot faster than the rest behind. Been a couple more disasters thrown in too! I’ve had a few days off work, so done more racing in the past 3 days than I have in the last couple of months 😃 it’s been good.
Yeah that’s exactly it, sometimes it’s out of your hands. Although I could have continued if I’d been a bit more careful rejoining at the end. But I was so frustrated after the first incident, I didn’t want to lose even more positions so I thought I could keep me foot down and power through the gravel. I couldn’t 🤣
2:40 Why people always do this? Like its a 25 minutes race, why such a irresponsible lunge on lap 2 like... and that happens every race, sometimes no with us, but still... why not just chill and wait the outcome of the fight ahead and maybe capitalize on a better moment? Anyways... just the ACC experience, I guess. Edit: I´ve not noticed the guy clipped the grass on braking, but still, my point stands.
Yeah, it happens a lot and is very frustrating. I think the guy’s main mistake was lifting off the brake after he’d started braking. I think that’s what ran him out onto the kerb, and caused him to lose control.
Yeah, a bit of a comedy of errors! The race ending early is on me though, with a bit more care (and a less heavy foot) I could have got out of the sand safely. I just thought I could power my way through it so I didn’t lose even more positions. It didn’t work 🤣
Haha. I think it was mostly honest mistakes and carelessness. And I put myself into the latter too, with that horror rejoin. I was so frustrated at losing so many positions, I kept my foot down thinking I’d be able to power through the gravel without losing further positions. I couldn’t 🤣
LFM looks no better than a typical public lobby, I race them for a bit of fun. I mainly race in organised league races where most people actually seem to care.
Yeah unlucky Chris was looking good
Cheers mate, thank you for watching 😃
Yup, an absolute mess of a race! Too bad you got caught up in it, better luck next time! Thanks Buddy for sharing w us!
Thanks Walt, not my finest race, for sure! I’ve definitely got the pace to challenge for some good finishes, so that’s encouraging. Just need to find a way to stay safe!
I laughed out loud. Thanks.
Haha, good to know my misery can still raise a laugh 🤣 cheers

Well at least I didn’t have to worry about trying to drive with damage 🤣 but yeah, I knew everyone would feel my pain… it happens to all of us!
Been a hot minute since you uploaded some iracing content, looking forward to some iracing content!

I really felt the pain watching the video. Remembered me of so many of my own races 😖. Heads up and better luck next time! 🤗
Haha thanks, yeah I knew everyone else will have been in the same boat and sympathise! Cheers mate 😃
Desperately unlucky in that one Chris. Great start though 😁
Thank you Alan. Yeah lots of promise for better results to be had at this track. I really enjoy racing it.
As usual Chris, another well put together video. Shame about the result.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. At least it didn’t take long to edit the video 🤣
Ouch, that stings! Nothing more frustrating than having a great start to a race only to have it ruined by other drivers mistakes.
Yeah too right. But at least they were honest mistakes, I find those much easier to accept than deliberate ones. Onwards and upwards!
Funny how most of the times the guy causing the inferno manages to continue driving.
Haha yeah, it’s usually the way!
sadly, monday looks to be a day for starting from the back. even in split 1 yesterday I gained 10 places with only 2 being actual overtakes.
Well, if one of those places was to a bright green and white car in the gravel, you know who it was 🤣

What was that car thinking slowing down on the racing line?!

I managed a P2 a couple of days ago. Every other race I do seems to turn out like this one of yours. It's so frustrating.

5Min. that has to be a new record. :S
Haha, well at least it was an easy race video to edit 🤣
❤️❤️❤️👀👀👀❤️❤️❤️❤️
🥇
No amount of being careful would have saved you in that race. It's almost easier when you are at least partly responsible.
Yeah that’s exactly it, sometimes it’s out of your hands. Although I could have continued if I’d been a bit more careful rejoining at the end. We don't need "when" to the title in 2024. ACC races go wrong fast every single time.
🤣

Ugh. Sometimes I'm just speechless on some people's behavior on track.

Bad parenting. Total lack of respect and appreciation for other people's time. Yeah, I just said that about sim racing LOL
