Ali Siddiq is a stand-up comedian, public speaker, and writer out of Houston. Ali’s unique style of stand-up began behind the walls of incarceration, an incubator for interesting experiences and good stories.
People received their first taste of Ali Siddiq when he appeared on HBO's DEF COMEDY JAM and LIVE FROM GOTHAM, and in 2013 he was named Comedy Central's "#1 Comic to Watch". In 2014, Ali impressed comedy enthusiasts by displaying his ability to captivate an audience with his "Mexicans Got On Boots" tale, descriptive storytelling, with over 15 million views, of a prison riot on THIS IS NOT HAPPENING, the first of three appearances. His stories continued with his HALF HOUR special, which premiered on Comedy Central in the fall of 2016. Immediately following the premiere of that special, Comedy Central offered Ali an hour-special where he performed for inmates live in a Texas jail, sending Ali back to where it all started. The hour special, Ali Siddiq: It’s Bigger Than These Bars, premiered in February 2018 on Comedy Central. In 2019, Ali could be seen as a Top 5 finalist on NBC’s BRING THE FUNNY. Most recently, Ali could be seen as a guest on THE JOE ROGAN EXPERIENCE.

I was a C/O when Nevada implemented a new rule about time being served for one reason or another. We had this inmate in his cell one night, calm as ever, he was one of our favorites because even though he was a bad guy, he beat up other bad guys to protect the weaker bad guys. That inmate knew he had many years ahead and accepted it.
When the law went into effect, a judge reviewed his case, and the next morning he had his years left as time served he was immediately rushed out of the prison and sent home. The only time I've ever seen it happen and that quickness gave far too many people hope that it could happen to them too.

Did y'all just assume everyone in there was a "bad guy" or perhaps someone who just grew up in a messed up situation and as a result made some bad decisions later in life? Plus one can never say "if it were me I'd have done this or that differently". You never know till you've been in that same person's exact situation, including what they experienced in their life prior, what you would actually do in any situation

Back in the timeframe Ali is referring to, it could have also been Hydrocodone with that Rugby pressing on it. I'm inclined to think it was that, as half a 10mg Valium doesn't exactly melt the floor.

I'm a long time opiate user, so I couldn't imagine a hydrocodone doing much of anything. How many mg would it be? I'm Canadian, and only did hydrocodone once or twice, but I remember it being quite weak.
***** Kind of, I guess. Zopiclone is really just a sleeping pill; not a whole lot of abuse potential. If you stay awake you get kind of hypnotized, sedated and a little delusional, but I can't see people in prison risking their neck just to smuggle in sleeping pills. Not exactly the hottest drug on the market.
+Spider Jerusalem 10 mg is the dose, but these SE are NOT unknown for the drug, sounds a bit like what he described. Feeling that others are watching you or controlling your behavior. Feeling that others can hear your thoughts. Feeling, seeing, or hearing things that are not there.
Kate Amara For valium you think those are common side effects? My experience doesn't really line up with that. I almost feel like paranoid delusions like that are reduced when taking a benzo like valium. It's relaxing more than it is anything else.
