Not really. I was using FL Studio in 2006, and I used to get comments like “Stop being poor” or “You need an Mbox w ProTools”. But I would also get comments asking my ProTools settings because my vocals were so crisp, when in reality I did all my mixing in FL Studio. At the time, Stargate ruled the top 10 Pop Charts, and they used FL Studio.
I’m currently long removed from FL Studio and now use Logic, but I was told that if you can really master the use of a DAW, it doesn’t matter what equipment you use or have.
Vocal chain is kinda where I’d spend the bulk of the money. Like now you don’t need a $10k vocal chain. My vocal chain is a Miktek C7 (original) - $900, through a WARM Audio TB-12 - $600 and an Audient ID44 (gen1) $700. A/D and D/A converters on that are INSANE.

the part where yall was talking about mac and windows .. i feel if your a firm windows user and maybe struggling... just build your self a powerful pc invest in that and it will go a super long way and super powerful if u buy the right components. or buy a prebuild one. no need to switch over to something ur not interested in or comfortable using.

This show is dope and a great idea! Some topics : What was your first ever microphone? Your current favorite, and your dream microphone that may be currently out of budget. Favorite compressor. Is there a difference in sound quality depending on which DAW? Which VSTs dominated certain eras (Hypersonic in 2009, Nexus in 2012). Best Reverb. Pros and cons of a home studio. Maybe all 3 of you guys can mix/master the same record, and play on the podcast your versions of the track and discussing the different techniques. I can go on for days!

As far as the ilok conversation...now a days you can just use the ilok cloud with no Actual ilok device.......I have several vsts connected to my ilok cloud and I've still to this day never had to buy the stick.

I use grossbeat on Studio One. Grossbeat was originally a 3rd party vst. Most of FL studio Stock Plugins are 3rd party and can be used in other Daws.

Every episode you guys should do a short tutorial. Like you guys take turns showing one of your tutorials. So one episode you’ll show a tutorial but just a short one and then the next guy shows a short tutorial on the next episode etc. it can be like an every episode thing

The ball was dropped on the analog side of this conversation. Clones are NOT made equal, hence the price. Same goes for 500 vs rackmount. There's a price difference for a REASON. That reason being the most important of this entire conversation, including digital plugins, is the electrical components and they're specs. This is 90% of the reason why gear is priced so differently.

Price doesn't equate with quality. I say this because Hensive and Hensive 2 VST have everything and they cost nothing.
I guarantee a producer can make use of Hensive. It's sold by producer sources website and I only have Hensive 1 installed. Yesterday I upgraded to Portal and oh my lord 🦾 melody cheat code 🙏🏽

Protools users are so negative to FL Studio users online and it’s actually crazy. The DAW doesn’t matter. It’s the hardware, knowledge of plugins and overall understanding of frequencies that make the music sound good. But I digress 🥱
I’m not a hater at all I respect all DAWs
