Todays Topic we will Discuss what are mosfets, how N P N mosfet work, for what purpose mosfets are used and finally how to check if the mosfet is good or faulty.
Mosfets have three terminals named as Gate , Drain and source,
Mosftes are basically transistor and have diods inside, the N Type mosfet contains only 1 diod between drain and source terminal,
The purpose of an n-channel MOSFET is to control the flow of electrical current between the source and drain terminals using a voltage applied to the gate terminal. When a positive voltage is applied to the gate with respect to the source, it creates an electric field that allows electrons to flow from the source to the drain, completing the electrical circuit.
Lets do test a N type mosfet using a multimeter.
This is gate terminal, this is drain and this is source terminal,
If you put red probe on source and black probe on drain terminal and you get a reading around 500 this means its good, and if you inverse the probes you should not get any reading,
The drain and the body of mosfet are connected together. You should get low resistance as shown means they are well connected,
Drain and gate terminals should not give any reading.
According to the results this is a good mosfet.

transistor is a current driven device . mosfet is voltage controlled
